The location was great! We took a taxi at night, but it seemed walkable in the morning. All the staff were very friendly. The only issues were some ants and the noise from the hallway, which was a bit bothersome. However, it got quiet at night, and we were able to sleep well.

The hostel was adequate but our room had many problems with the running water. When taking a shower the water was weak or shut off entirely and this happened often for multiple days.

I didn't like that the room didn't have a bathroom. The bathroom is to be shared. For a little extra, you can have a bathroom and better location at 82 on Regent. Motown is okay if you enjoy sharing bathrooms with strangers. Due to the concerts at the time in Cape Town, most places were sold out which is how we landed up at Motown.

Joe was the best concierge I’ve ever experienced. He was extremely helpful, punctual and professional. Every issue was resolved in a timely manner and assistance was available 24/7.

The backpack area was spacious and kitchen is clean constantly and good. But our room is little run down, with an old drawer and lots red ants around. No washing machine.
