We were lured to this hotel through recommendation of influencers that boast this hotel with it's majestic look of that looking like a Chinese traditional castle. Although the location is not quite what we really like as it is about 8-10mins walking from the nearest Metro Station (Nanmen Metro) but the price was quite affordable and enticing that we decided to give it a try. The hotel facade does looks magnificant, grand and big from afar, the interior is huge and traditionally well-kept even though the design looks a bit dated but I find that it stays classy and traditional that way. We were assigned to one of the furthest room all the way to the back at 5069. The walk was quite long since it was all the way at the back. Room is definitely big and allow opening of luggages all at one go. The amenities given was sufficient, except they can improve by giving more shower bath gel and shampoo as the small bottles was not enough. Was also hoping they could have install international plugs for their international guest being an international hotel chain as well. Their staffs were polite and professional. Woudl recommend anyone coming to Suzhou to give this hotel one shot at least! The most important thing is the hotel stay comes with complimentary park access which is connected at the back of the hotel which would cost RMB40 if you were to pay to go in! Worth it!

If you could only do two things in Yangzhou, they would undoubtedly be 'admiring the gardens' and 'savoring Huaiyang cuisine'. My stay at Yangzhou Yingbin Hotel perfectly blended these two experiences, offering an unexpected feast for both my mind and body. Before checking in, I knew the hotel was located by Slender West Lake, but it wasn't until I truly stepped inside that I understood what 'a new scene with every step' really meant. The hotel itself is an exquisite Chinese-style garden, with pavilions, terraces, rockeries, and ponds artfully arranged. Strolling through the garden in the early morning or evening, sunlight streamed through the carved wooden windows, casting dappled shadows that reflected in the tranquil ponds, while white walls, dark tiles, and lush greenery complemented each other beautifully. Everywhere I looked in the garden was a vivid ink painting of Jiangnan. This immersive garden experience is something that simply visiting a regular attraction can't compare to.
If the garden satisfied my eyes, then the hotel's restaurant thoroughly conquered my stomach. The highlight of this culinary journey was here: the morning tea at Quyuan Teahouse lived up to its reputation. In the elegant setting of the tea restaurant, I savored classic hot dried shredded tofu, crab roe soup dumplings, and five-filling buns. The dim sum was meticulously prepared and authentic in taste, making breakfast feel like a special ritual. For lunch and dinner, I tried several famous Huaiyang dishes. The boiled dried shredded tofu was fresh and tender, and the Lion's Head meatball, with its perfect balance of lean and fatty meat, melted in my mouth. Each dish showcased the essence of Huaiyang cuisine's philosophy of 'using local ingredients and meticulous craftsmanship,' and the staff's descriptions of the dishes were professional and appropriate.
From the thoughtful service I received during check-in to the warm and attentive shuttle driver, every detail during my stay reflected the hotel's dedication. It's more than just a place to stay; it's a microcosm of Yangzhou culture. For travelers seeking to 'experience local character and savor culture,' this is undoubtedly an excellent choice.

First, about the service: check-in was smooth, and Wendy was incredibly warm, thoughtful, and responsive to all our needs, even giving us a small gift. The hotel's location is excellent and very convenient, no complaints there. We booked a suite, and although we didn't get an upgrade, we were quite satisfied at first. The room had a good layout with separate living and sleeping areas, was very clean, and well-equipped. We could see the mall across the street from the window, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. The biggest highlight of the room was how quiet and comfortable it was.
However, the biggest drawback was how cold it was – so, so cold! We set the air conditioning to 37 degrees Celsius (98.6°F), but the room only reached 21 degrees Celsius (70°F). The AC was running constantly but seemed useless, especially the bathroom, which felt like a freezer. It was fine once we were asleep in the bedroom, but stepping out was incredibly cold. Even with a temperature drop, it shouldn't be this bad; the hallway actually felt warmer than our room. This was genuinely disappointing. Of course, the butler offered to bring a space heater later, but we declined, not wanting the hassle and thinking we could manage. Hopefully, this can be improved next time.

Last month, from December 16-17, I mistakenly booked an Executive King Room at Suning International Hotel. The first night, costing over 800 yuan, was forfeited because I arrived too late. I thought I would have to bear the loss myself, but customer service representative Amy proactively called me and helped me apply for a 14-day extension. As the new deadline approached, I found there were no rooms available due to a holiday, so she extended it again for me, following up patiently and cheerfully from afar. Her meticulousness and professionalism truly embody ”customer first” in every interaction. I am grateful to Suning for fostering such a warm team, and I wish Amy a prosperous New Year.
I have already rebooked and can check in with peace of mind. I also wish to share this trust with every traveler. Suning is made warm by you, and travel is made beautiful by you.

Everything was top tier. From the check-in where I was upgraded to a river view room, the clean, spacious and inviting room to the service and superb breakfast. The view from the restaurant was amazing.
This was my pre birthday trip and the Hyatt made it so special. I even got a slice to birthday cake. The lady at the front desk who checked me in spoke really good English and was so kind and caring and she’s also a Gemini 😁🎉 I would 100% recommend and come back here.

Sofitel Lianyungang truly exceeded my expectations! Its downtown location is super convenient, with Suning Plaza right downstairs, offering easy access to dining and shopping. The room was clean and spacious, and from the high floor, I could overlook the city. The bedding was incredibly soft, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, with freshly made seafood noodles and waffles being absolutely delicious. The buffet dinner was also quite good. The front desk service was very thoughtful, proactively helping us plan our sightseeing routes. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit.

I've been to Suzhou countless times since I was a child, going on spring outings there, and also because I love Suzhou pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing). So, when planning a short, leisurely trip, Suzhou is usually my go-to. This time, I specifically chose a hotel in the Jinji Lake Scenic Area to experience modern, new Suzhou. After staying two nights at the Crowne Plaza Suzhou, I highly recommend this hotel!
The location is superb. You step right out into a shopping district and a metro station. You can conveniently reach Shantang Street, North Temple Pagoda (yesterday, I walked from North Temple Pagoda through Pishi Street to Guanqian Street, then east to Daru Lane and Pingjiang Road – it was amazing for someone who loves Suzhou like me) by taking Metro Line 1 and transferring to Line 2 or 4. The shopping district around the hotel is also great, making shopping and dining very convenient. This morning, I took a comfortable one-hour walk along the Jinji Lake shore from the hotel.
Now, about the hotel itself. If you're driving, parking is very convenient (the underground garage has a direct elevator). The front desk staff were very warm and attentive, and both check-in and check-out were incredibly fast (actually, before my trip, a staff member proactively called and added me on WeChat, sending hotel information and answering many of my questions). The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The breakfast had a rich variety, with both Chinese and Western options, and tasted great. The value for money is excellent. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely choose Crowne Plaza Suzhou again. Afterward, I asked and found out the front desk staff member who proactively contacted me was named Dolphin 🐬 and the room attendant was Scallop (their names perfectly fit the hotel's theme). Thank you for your excellent service! I hope your leaders see this and give you bigger year-end bonuses. Hahaha.

New hotel, friendly staff but is going to be outdated soon. Bad sound proofing , lots of drunk Chinese people shouting in the corridor at night time.
The breakfast variety is so poor for Europeans. Please teach your staff in the restaurant to cook sunny side up eggs and refill the dishes without reminding.
Overall, it’s not “real Hilton” experience.

Staying at the Slender West Lake Hot Spring Resort was absolutely the right choice! When the front desk saw we had a child, they proactively upgraded us to a room in Building 6. The room was spacious and very new. Plus, the hotel's environment is beyond words – flowers, plants, little bridges, and flowing water everywhere, it's just so relaxing to look at. The room was spotlessly clean; the bedding, towels, and everything else were pristine, making our stay very reassuring. The service here is even better. They saw our child and proactively gave them a balloon flower, which made the kid very happy 😁. After check-in, the 'flower butler' service in Building 6 was also incredibly thoughtful and attentive. In the evening, they not only tidied our room but also provided a foot bath and massager. At check-out, they even gave us a souvenir. Soaking in the hot springs and enjoying the beautiful scenery here put me in an exceptionally good mood. It's definitely my top choice for a vacation!

CChuntianrannaifenBooked this place for a business trip to Nanjing and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, with a large bay window offering excellent natural light. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.
GGuest UserI booked this hotel because I wanted to try out this style, and overall, I was quite satisfied with the experience. The only minor drawback was that the location was a bit hard to find at first; after parking the car at the entrance of Pingjiang Road, we had to walk a distance, and the ground was uneven, which made it a bit challenging with luggage.
On the day of check-in, the front desk surprised us with an upgrade to a room with a bathtub, which was a really pleasant surprise. The front desk staff also had an excellent attitude, making us feel very well taken care of.
Additionally, upon check-in, thoughtful touches like small cookies, fruit, yogurt, and a welcome card were provided. These little details really enhanced the experience.
The only thing is that the lighting in the room was a bit dim. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't know how to operate it, or if it was designed that way. It would have been perfect if the lighting brightness could be adjusted.

KK. and FamilyThis hotel stands out as one of the finest I've ever experienced. The staff were exceptional—their genuine friendliness and willingness to go above and beyond made all the difference. The Asian breakfast was perfect for the winter weather, featuring steaming hot millet porridge. Our stay was further brightened by Xiao Mai, the resident corgi. We also admired the owner's compassion; they not only rescued a stray cat but also regularly feed the local strays, noting that without providing food and shelter, many would not survive the cold winter. Definitely will stay with this hotel again if we visit Nanjing!

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here.
Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around.
In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room.
When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture?
Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc.
Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us.
These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.
CChifanpeiyinliaoThis hotel is definitely a great place to walk your kids! The ecology is very good! We even saw a hare! But maybe it’s because it’s outdoors! It seems like the door to the candy room is a little broken! Not so easy to close! Then the electric cars in the park require money to use but they are too slow! And the cost is a bit high!
The service attitude at the front desk is very good! Very eager to help!
The road to the swimming pool is not easy to walk! Must be very careful! It's easy to fall! The locker room environment needs cleaning!
The interior of the room is clean and acceptable!

KKuang KuangIt got off to a bad start; we were dropped off at the end of Daru Lane and the hotel was just across Shengli Brigde. Unfortunately there was a minor repair work along Pingjiang Road leading to Hotel, so we have to make a detour via Pingjiangli, Xiaojia Lane and Xuegao Bridge.
We were checked in with amicable and heartwarming hospitality. The receptionist provided us with extra breakfast coupons, helped with luggages, and showed us to our room. She gave us directions on where to go to hail taxi and the drop off points closest to the hotel. The housekeeping auntie was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and had strong air conditioning.
The location is perfect for exploring Pingjiang Road, Guanqian Steet and nearby attractions. We wandered along Pingjiang Road, explored alleys/stone bridges and attractions. We also did a walking tour for Suzhou Museum, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Grove Garden.

SSingaporean MammalWhat we liked:
Spacious and nice room design.
Separate bath and toilet.
Toilet has automatic flush, seat cover is also provided. Lots of snacks and amenities provided.
There are amenities at the front desk such as disposable bath cover, disposable floss, mask etc you can collect from front desk.
You can also ask for warm bottled water.
Responsive staff, can communicate your needs via WeChat, very convenient.
There are 3 lifts, very convenient.
Snacks and drinks are free.
Bath robes, room and bath slippers are provided too. Awesome that we stayed on the same floor as the lobby, very convenient.
Location is near metro, malls, shops, and attractions, very convenient.
I like that there are bath robes and different types of towels provided.
What we think can be improved:
We thought the big bath was indoors and wouldn’t be so cold in the winter but it has two open windows and it gets quite cold when the wind blows. It takes about 1.5h to fill up about 60-70% of the tub and you need to tap every 30 minutes or so to keep the water flowing. Quite time consuming to get it ready for a bath.
Housekeeping is inconsistent, the cleaner left a towel on the floor on one of the days, left a cup unwashed, took away our straws and left the sink cover by the sink instead.
They have a centralised heating system so it can get quite hot but the staff offered us a fan and we opened the balcony door for wind to enter so it was comfortable to sleep at night.
There was some drilling going on in the early morning around 9-10am, it was just opposite our room so it disrupted my sleep, would be better for them to schedule it during non-sleeping hours.
When we were checking out, the staff at the counter shared about them getting audited and if we don’t give a five star review, they will get a fine, I had never heard of it from other hotels and found it quite strange. She was insistent on us doing it on the spot even though we have to catch a train, that was not pleasant. We just went ahead to rush for our train.
Not much to watch on the TV unfortunately.
GGlenysMGreenTree Inn, Jurong (Jiangsu Province) is an oldie but a goody! I stayed there for 5 nights in late August/early September (2025). At first glance I was a bit dubious, but it turned out to be a really great place to stay. I felt very safe there and in the neighbourhood (day and night) and would stay there again.
Excellent customer service ..… the Reception and cleaning staff were all really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The first room I was allocated smelt of cigarette smoke (no thank you!), but I was immediately moved into a nicer smelling room, which was absolutely spotless, quite large, and had a nice new smart tv, air con, an opening window with a flyscreen and security bars (essential for a ground floor room), nice solid furniture, pure white linen (impressively imprinted with “GreenTree Inn”) and a clean, comfy doona and pillows. A standard hard’ish Chinese bed, but I find them quite comfy.
The old carpet runner along the length of the long ground floor hallway (where my room was) is a relic from way back when, but it was clean and well maintained, as was the rest of the hotel that I could see.
The shower head needed fixing, but that’s an annoyingly common problem in pretty much every budget > mid range hotel I’ve ever stayed in, in China.
The hotel is only about 20 metres from Jurong Chongming Subway Station. Local bus stop almost at the front door (& across the road). The entrance to the old cobbled road (no cars allowed) & all its little shops is across the road at the lights, and a large pharmacy at the entrance (near the “archway”). Electric scooters galore to hire (via the AliPay or WeChat apps) outside the subway. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance once you get past the trades shops (plumbing supplies etc).
My only gripe about GreenTree Inn Jurong (& this is a gripe I have for many hotels etc throughout China) is that smoking is allowed on the premises. I think it’s the worst it’s been since 2002 when I first started travelling to China. It’s awful walking into foyers and lifts that reek of cigarette smoke, and copping wafts of the smoke along hallways from smokers in their rooms (& ashtrays at lift entrances), and horrible arriving tired after a long flight and long trek from airports etc, only to discover you then have to request a room change to escape the smoke, and start all over again. No matter how accommodating the staff are, I could easily do without that hassle and the horrible smell.
In my opinion, hotels etc in China need to up their game where that’s concerned, and follow the lead of the many countries which have banned cigarette smoking in all public buildings (including hotels), all public indoor and outdoor spaces, anywhere near children and shopping centres, on and near public transport etc etc etc.
