Guest UserWe stayed at New West Street International Hotel for total of 10 nights as we accompanied our child at a nearby Chinese school in the summer. This extended time gave us the opportunity to really got to experience the hotel facilities, the food, and the service.
First the location. The actual location is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the actual West Street. To us, the distance is actually a good thing. Food, shops, and amenities at West Street are overly tailored for tourists. The hotel location is quiet and peaceful. Nearby are many local restaurants and shops that we much preferred. In fact, we found ourselves walking away from the West Street direction to get some great local foods everyday of our stay. That said, the hotel offers an excellent shuttle service beginning at 3:30pm until late at night if that's what you are into.
Second, the hotel building itself is in excellent condition. It appears many of the facilities and rooms were recently renovated. The lobby is open and airy and makes a comfortable gathering spot for us to meet our friends before heading out. The hotel sometimes accommodates tour groups. Even when we see as many as three tour buses parked in the back, the hotel does not feel congested nor noisy. The room itself is tastefully updated with a large flat screen TV, USB-C chargers, and automated curtains. The beds were comfortable and our balcony room faced a beautiful karst mountain and a nearby pond. The room appears to have great noisy insulation. We did not hear our neighbors like we did in other Chinese hotels.
Third, the place is always clean. We see staff cleaning public areas all the time, wiping down handrails, elevator buttons, countertops. etc. As for our room, the home keeper always kept it clean and orderly. We had some problems with smell the first day. A housekeeper came and troubleshoot the problem to durian smell in the mini-fridge. Not only did she wipe it down, but even without us asking, the later came back with another mini-fridge to make sure no smell was left. That really made an impression on us.
Next, the staff. Everyone we encountered was always friendly and greeted us. From the cleaning staff to the front desk reception to the restaurant waiters. Everyone was friendly. We can only speak limited mandarin but the staff still talked to us best they could in English. Rachel, the manager on site, was especially friendly to make sure we got everything we needed. She understands we were staying for an extended period of time so she was always asking what can be improved for our long stay. The hotel added us to WeChat where they respond quickly to all the typical requests like room service to sending us extra water. I wish more hotels do this.
Finally, the facilities. We used the laundry room daily. There are 5 washers and 3 dryers by my count. Most of the time, I can find an empty machine to wash my laundry. Mornings are best for doing laundry. After dinner time is the busiest time. We occasionally had to take out other people's laundry that were just sitting there but it's rare. The pool is large, warm, and clean. The shallow end is perfect for kids or just wading around. The deep end is 1.7M deep so it's plenty for actual swimming. We also used the on-site travel agent to book a private transfer to the Guilin high speed station. Rachel happened to be nearby when we did this and she helped with some translation with the agent and it was very appreciated. The restaurant was large and there was always space for us to sit even when there are large tour groups. It offers mainly Chinese options but also have some Western items. Food was abundant and delicious. The Guilin rice noodles in the back is tasty and the broth is excellent. The only thing is the coffee could be a little bit better!
We loved our stay at the New West Street International Hotel and would not hesitate to go back next time we visit Yangshuo.

The staff were attentive and thoughtful, the room was clean, and the amenities were exquisite. The lake view from the window, complemented by the bridge, was truly picturesque. I particularly loved the unique retro charm of Baigongguan, a hotel with a Republic of China era theme. The lobby showcased antique pianos, old phonographs, yellowed old photo frames, and brown retro leather sofas... It truly captured the essence of both the Republic of China era and the stunning Li River landscape. I wish I had more time to stay a few more days to fully immerse myself in the culture and characteristics of that period.

Shidandanya-Just checked out of Yangshuo Xishi Jinshe, and I absolutely loved it! The location is unbeatable, right by the Yulong River. Open the window and you're greeted with stunning green mountains and clear waters, with bamboo rafts floating right past. The scenery and the vacation vibe are just incredible.
The room has a wabi-sabi aesthetic – clean, sophisticated, and the bedding is super comfortable. The service is incredibly thoughtful; they arranged afternoon tea and even a goodnight dessert. The infinity pool is also perfect for taking amazing photos. If you're coming to Yangshuo, staying here is definitely worth it!

I rarely write such detailed reviews but this place really deserves it
Everything here is amazing - from the location to the service. Every little detail is carefully thought out to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, and stress-free
The staff impressed me the most. They notice small details and truly care about guests. At first, I was surprised that even staff members I had never met before already knew my room number. It was a little funny and unexpected 😄 But like this you understand the high level of the service
Everyone was so kind to me and always ready to help 🥺 Even if someone doesn’t speak English, they quickly use a translator and do their best to solve any problem
The room is beautiful and very comfortable. The bed and pillows are probably one of my favorite parts of the stay - I honestly did not want to leave them! The room has everything you need for a relaxing stay, including nice Chinese tea, coffee, and many small details that make you feel at home like bath salt.
Another very useful detail for travelers is the free self-service laundry. When you travel for a longer time, having a place where you can easily wash your clothes is a huge advantage
The breakfast was also a wonderful surprise. While traveling around China, I often found that hotel breakfasts were mostly focused on Chinese food, which can sometimes be difficult for international travelers. Here, there is also a great Western breakfast with enough choices
Another amazing part is the number of complimentary experiences included in the stay. Fresh fruits every day, afternoon drinks with desserts, cultural activities, and more. Sometimes there are so many things to enjoy that you don’t even want to leave the hotel😅
I especially loved the Chinese calligraphy experience. Writing calligraphy while two lovely parrots sometimes came to sit on my shoulder felt like a real journey into traditional Chinese culture. You can also create small handmade souvenirs, which makes the experience even more memorable
The location is perfect, with incredible mountain views all around. And one small detail that I really appreciated: the panoramic windows are always perfectly clean. In many hotels, beautiful views are ruined by dirty windows, but here you can fully enjoy the scenery
P.S.: just one small suggestion it would be great to have a “Do not disturb” sign. Some guests may want to have some private time and make sure that nobody enters the room

A5ting5ting5The three-meter floor-to-ceiling windows were a major draw, offering stunning views of the Li River outside. The 'Sky Mirror' on the top floor is absolutely beautiful and a must-visit for photos! Our suite had a dedicated lounge area, perfect for tea, chatting, playing mahjong, or watching movies. We checked in in the afternoon and the hotel thoughtfully provided afternoon tea. The suite itself was fully equipped, even with a bathtub for relaxing. The breakfast, served buffet-style until 10 AM, was rich and varied. The hotel also boasts an outdoor pool, a gym, a kids' club, and a fully equipped laundry room. It's very close to West Street, making it super convenient to rent an electric scooter and explore West Street or other attractions!

Guest UserSugar House was one of the highlights of our trip to China. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen somewhere special.
The hotel is beautifully designed, blending contemporary luxury with its historic surroundings in a way that feels both unique and peaceful. Our room was spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable, with stunning views over the karst landscape. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Yangshuo.
The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a great selection of both Chinese and Western options, and every meal we had at the hotel restaurant was beautifully prepared using excellent local ingredients. Everything was consistently excellent and a real highlight of our stay.
What really elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional service. Every member of staff was warm, welcoming and genuinely eager to help. They assisted us in arranging transport and offered excellent recommendations for exploring the surrounding area, making everything effortless.
The location was perfect for us—peaceful and secluded, yet within easy reach of Yangshuo’s incredible scenery. We spent the day rafting on the Yulong River, visiting Fuli Bridge, Moon Hill and Xingping, before returning to relax by the beautiful riverside pool each evening. It was the ideal balance of adventure and tranquillity.
Sugar House is much more than a luxury hotel; it is a destination in its own right. We left wishing we had booked an extra night and would not hesitate to return. It is a truly exceptional place that we will remember for a very long time.

This stay exceeded my expectations, a genuine five-star review is a must! The location is absolutely fantastic, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The front desk staff, especially Pipi, was incredibly polite and gentle, handling both check-in and check-out very efficiently without any delays. Vivian from the loyalty department was super quick to respond to minor requests and consistently paid attention to details – highly recommend her! The room was spotless, the bedding soft and comfortable, ensuring a full night's sleep. The bathroom facilities had consistent water pressure. The public areas were clean and elegant, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, making for excellent sleep quality. It offers great value for money, perfect for both business trips and short getaways. I'll definitely prioritize this hotel next time I'm in the area, truly recommend it to all my friends!

YelianghaogeqiuThis guesthouse is located near the Comprehensive Wharf (Gongnong Bridge) and right by the Big Banyan Tree scenic area. It's nestled in a village, with a village road in front and a dedicated parking lot. The lobby on the first floor has a tea station, and they thoughtfully provide things like band-aids, dental floss, and mosquito repellent. The service is excellent; the housekeeper contacts you in advance. Afternoon tea is delivered to your room daily, and there's sweet soup in the evening.
The restaurant is on the 6th floor, and their rice noodles for breakfast are delicious. Dinner is also fantastic; I highly recommend the 'Immortal Chicken,' pan-fried Wagyu with butter, and crispy Hehua fish. If you're with a large group, it's a good idea to book a table and order in advance. The food here is much better than the other local restaurants and farmhouses nearby.

Guest UserThe hotel location is convenient, right next to MixC. There's a subway station downstairs, and the high-floor hotel offers great views. We had a minor issue though – the air conditioner in our room was broken and incredibly noisy. We had to switch rooms in the middle of the night, but thankfully, we still managed to get a few hours of quiet sleep. The hotel duty manager and the front desk staff did their best to coordinate the situation. Their swift handling of the problem is commendable. The mattress is supportive, so even with a bad back, I could sleep comfortably.

The entire hotel occupies its own hilltop, offering complete privacy, peace, and quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of city life.
