5-Star Hotels in Shaanxi, China

I'm so glad I started my Xi'an trip here. It really hit all the right spots, to the point where I seriously considered extending my stay for another day… but in the end, I decided to experience other hotels as well. [Location] It's right by Yongning Gate, next to the city wall, perfectly avoiding the city's traffic jams, which is super convenient for those who rely on taxis for getting around. There's also a subway station nearby. Plus, there are tons of delivery options and amazing places to eat, from breakfast to dinner, snacks, bubble tea, BBQ, and late-night eats – you could literally spend all day just eating! It's also a pleasant walk to the Bell Tower. [View] Pull back the curtains and there's the city wall. Whether it's the grandeur of the day or the dazzling lights at night, I could never get enough of it. [Service] The service was absolutely fantastic! It's been a long time since I've experienced such heartwarming service. Every staff member was so enthusiastic and friendly, from the front desk ladies to the aunties in the restaurant. Everyone served with a smile and went out of their way to provide help within their means. [Environment] (1) The decor, design, and murals really resonated with everyone; there are so many photo opportunities within the hotel itself. (2) Even if you don't have a city wall view room, the outdoor bar offers a spectacular view of the city wall. Sitting there watching the sunset, scrolling on your phone, and enjoying afternoon tea – it's incredibly cozy. (3) The small table in the triple room was perfect for ordering takeout with friends, happily eating and chatting, with Xi'an's city wall right outside the window. After a full meal, you can just lean back and feel completely content without even stepping out. However, if you're a workaholic and need to work overtime, the restaurant might be a more convenient spot. (4) The beds, pillows, and bath products were all very well-received. [Facilities] The pillows, bedding, and toiletries were all highly praised. [Activities] They offer airport pick-up and drop-off, a rubbings activity, free Hanfu rental, and there are many foreign guests as well. [Heads-up] For city wall view rooms facing the road, because they primarily feature glass curtain walls and windows, you might hear the sound of motorcycles with loud exhausts. However, since it's not continuous, it didn't affect our sleep. But it could be a concern for those who are sensitive to noise or are very light sleepers. BUT! The front desk thoughtfully provides earplugs! [Other] When I checked in, it felt like there weren't many guests. Perhaps it's because the price is relatively higher? Or maybe there are too many hotels in the vicinity, leading to intense competition and diverting some guests. However, with the amazing view + cultural experience + airport transfer + excellent service + great location + wonderful ambiance, I feel like it's hard to beat.

W Hotels has always been my favorite brand. This particular hotel is said to be their flagship in Asia. The design is grand and imposing, with a strong metallic, modern feel. The changing lights at night are truly captivating. It's located in the Qujiang Han Kiln Relic Park, offering fantastic views. The hotel's facilities are excellent, and the service is great too. The breakfast features delicious Xi'an local specialties, including Saozi noodles, Biangbiang noodles, and Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger).

This hotel boasts an excellent location right next to a subway entrance, making travel incredibly convenient. The staff were also impressively warm and attentive. However, the hotel's signs aren't very prominent, and it took a little while to find my way on my first visit. I'd suggest adding more directional signs. Additionally, it would be even more helpful for guests if a map of nearby restaurants was provided. Overall, it offers great value for money and I'd recommend it to travelers who prioritize convenient transport and good service.

We had a fantastic stay at the Crowne Plaza Baoji. The room was spacious and offered a stunning view of the city and the river . The hotel's location is excellent for both sightseeing and business . A special thank you to Jessica, the manager, who was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English, making us feel very welcome. In fact, all the staff were remarkably attentive and professional throughout our stay . The facilities, including the indoor pool and the sky bar on the 40th floor, were top-notch . A truly wonderful experience and probably the best hotel in the city!

Absolutely delighted and very satisfied! I'll definitely choose Haimen JW again next time I'm in Xi'an. It was better than I ever imagined! The room was beautiful and comfortable, and all the staff were super nice and attentive. A big shout out to Monica and Lily for being especially thoughtful! They proactively asked about our needs and tried their best to accommodate them. The welcome fruit was lovely, and they gave us a high-floor room with a great view. The room was well-decorated, and since it was our anniversary, they even brought us a delicious small cake! The housekeeping staff were also wonderful. The lobby staff and the doormen at the hotel entrance were all great! Everyone greeted us with a smile~ The hotel breakfast was delicious, and the Sauteed Noodles were amazing! The location is very convenient, and there's a fantastic teppanyaki place downstairs! Good! The biggest surprise of this trip was choosing such a wonderful hotel.

The location of The Westin Xi'an is absolutely unbeatable! It's directly across from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, just a 2-minute walk away, and you can reach Datang Everbright City in 5 minutes to catch the light show and performances. At night, you can enjoy panoramic views of the illuminated pagoda right from your room. It's also conveniently located near a Line 4 subway station, making it super easy to get to all the attractions – truly hassle-free travel. For shopping and dining, Xi'an Joy City is right outside the hotel, offering everything you could possibly need. And the hotel service? Absolutely impeccable. From the moment I booked, through check-in, and finally at check-out, the guest services team, especially Nico and Candy, provided thoughtful and proactive assistance. This included pre-arrival check-in guidance, license plate registration, a local sightseeing map, performance schedules, and even information on traffic restrictions during the May Day holiday. The front desk staff were professional, efficient, and highly skilled, able to answer all our questions and accommodate our specific requests with ease. This really speaks to the hotel's mature and comprehensive management system, where management empowers their staff, significantly boosting service efficiency and quality, and actively enhancing the hotel's and brand's image. Even the housekeeping staff were incredibly meticulous and diligent, ensuring our room was cleaned and amenities replenished promptly and thoroughly. It's no wonder The Westin Xi'an (Datang Everbright City store) is ranked number one for hotels in Xi'an on Ctrip – it truly deserves it.

The location alone makes this place worth booking -- walkable to nearly everything, which is rare and genuinely valuable The room had a few surprises compared to the listing photos, including carpet rather than the hard floors shown, and a smaller window than expected. For guests with sensitivities, worth noting ahead of time. The room ran a little dark, but the quiet of a high floor at the end of the hall more than made up for it. Bathroom is functional with standard toiletries. Would love to see better ventilation and a bidet added in a future update -- we are in Asia after all. Wi-Fi was inconsistent during my stay, which was the one real frustration. The wins were real though: guest-controlled AC (a genuine rarity in China), a comfortable bed, impressively soft towels, linen slippers, a proper tea set, and an air purifier. As an English-speaking guest I appreciated the card with key hotel information in English and the one English news channel -- small gestures that meant a lot after weeks without hearing the language. The Blue Mountain instant coffee was a welcome touch. Housekeeping leaves a daily note with who cleaned and the next day's weather -- small detail, big impression. My housekeeper was especially warm during a stretch when I wasn't feeling well. The front desk and reception staff were consistently kind throughout my stay. Solid stay with a location that's hard to beat.

Our group had a wonderful six-night stay at the Huaqing Imperial Hot Spring Hotel, and we were thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. Before checking in, we inquired about various hotel services, and the reservation staff were incredibly patient and helpful. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered, no matter their role, was exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. As hotel guests, we enjoyed complimentary access to the Huaqing Palace scenic area and the hot springs. We booked a room with a private hot tub, which was disinfected daily by staff and refilled with fresh water every evening – it was so relaxing to soak in after a day of sightseeing! The hotel also helped us purchase tickets for the 'Song of Everlasting Sorrow' performance, and our seats were excellent. A dedicated staff member guided us to our seats before the show and picked us up afterward. The outdoor hot spring experience was also fantastic; perhaps because it wasn't peak season, it wasn't crowded. Like the private tubs, there were complimentary drinks and fruits. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. If you're visiting Huaqing Palace and the Terracotta Army, I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

The hotel is grand and the room is big. However, the aircon in our room was spoilt and the temperature of the room was unpleasant. Luckily, the weather was cooling and we had to open up the balcony door to cool the room for the night. Aircon technician spent an hour fixing the aircon but it was worse. The aircon started leaking water at the luggage storage throughout the night, with the sound of the leaking water affecting our sleep. But our traveling company had no issues with their rooms.

I brought my little one to Xi'an for a trip. We visited the Terracotta Army, Shaanxi History Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell and Drum Towers, Xi'an City Wall, and the Grand Tang Dynasty Everbright City, among other places. We stayed at this hotel for all five days. The hotel's location in the old city is excellent, making it convenient to get to all the attractions. There are also many Xi'an specialty snack shops nearby, so dining out was easy. As an established five-star hotel, both the facilities and service were top-notch. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the heated pool was lovely!
