The hotel boasts a luxurious and elegant lobby, and its prime central location in Qingdao puts it close to May Fourth Square and MixC Mall. Certain floors offer stunning sea views. With Metro Lines 2 and 3 conveniently located right outside the hotel entrance, guests can easily access and transfer to all of Qingdao's attractions, many of which provide free entry for seniors. The hotel staff are highly attentive and promptly resolve any issues. Dining options include Chinese, Western, and Japanese restaurants, where the set menus offer great value for money. This hotel is truly the best choice for anyone visiting Qingdao.

For my trip to Qingdao, I was looking for a hotel with convenient access to transportation, shopping, and dining. After reading numerous traveler reviews, I opted for the newly opened Qingdao Yihai Garden Hotel (May Fourth Square branch). The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, and the cleanliness was also quite good. The facilities were comprehensive. Although there wasn't a direct sea view, the city lights at night were still dazzling. Breakfast was plentiful, offering local specialty snacks that tasted great. Even with many guests staying, everything remained quite orderly. A notable feature: The laundry room was a very popular spot, often with queues forming. The hotel site originally served as the Qingdao Workers' Sanatorium, which I personally believe contributes to its 'quiet oasis in a bustling city' feel. Downside: As some other guests have mentioned, the shower water temperature would occasionally fluctuate between hot and cold, and the water spray was too dispersed. I hope this can be improved.

The hotel is perfectly situated right inside the ancient town, making it super convenient for evening strolls. Despite being in the old town, it was surprisingly quiet. The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful; I couldn't find a single fault. They even surprised my boyfriend and me with a complimentary cake when they learned we were there to register our marriage. The cake itself was delicious and clearly made with a lot of thought and care. The only minor point was that the showerhead in the bathroom was a bit old; updating it and enhancing a few other small details would make the experience absolutely perfect. All in all, it was a really great experience. Huge praise for the hotel staff! While other aspects might be a 3 or 4 out of 5, the front desk staff definitely deserve a perfect score!

Subject: Request for Room Change Delay – Service Improvement and Compensation Request Dear Westin Qingdao Team, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the room change request process I experienced today. I initially requested a room change for a better view, and despite waiting for over an hour, I did not receive any proper response or resolution. When I first arrived at my room, I found that one side of the view was almost entirely blocked by the neighboring building, which was not what I expected. I called the front desk to request a room change, but after 20 minutes with no response, I called again. I was told the team was checking on it. After waiting another 10 minutes without any follow-up, I called once more. The staff seemed to have difficulty communicating in English and repeated that they were still checking. Eventually, I was told that a room on the 16th floor might be available, and someone would come to show it to me. However, no one came. I waited again, then called once more about 10 minutes later, only to be told that the front desk was still confirming and that the new room would not be ready for another 30 minutes. At this point, I had already wasted nearly an hour of my time in Qingdao without any clarity on whether I could even change rooms. As a guest who chose your esteemed hotel for its reputation for excellent service, this experience has been highly disappointing. The lack of communication and inefficient handling of a simple request does not meet the standard expected from the Westin brand. I kindly request a formal explanation of this situation and an appropriate form of compensation for the inconvenience I experienced. The service here is superb, and the surroundings are even more stunning! Especially during this sweltering summer, I must commend myself for making such a wise choice – it's truly the most stress-free destination for families with kids, haha! You can happily just 'nest' in the hotel without ever feeling the need to step out. The pool and gym on the basement level (B1) are enough to keep the little ones entertained for half a day. The backyard is even more impressive; grab a bag of pigeon feed and you can enjoy a completely stress-free hour-long stroll after dinner. It perfectly combines escaping the heat with keeping the kids happy! If you're driving, this place is an absolute no-brainer – just book it! And a special mention for the buffet breakfast: the scallion oil noodles are an absolute must-try. The warm and attentive service struck just the right balance, creating a truly comfortable and pressure-free atmosphere. In the evening, a 15-minute drive took us to Binhai Road beach for some beachcombing, where we were lucky enough to spot a full moon. We left feeling utterly content, haha.

Located just off Hong Kong Middle Road, the hotel is not directly on the main thoroughfare, ensuring a quiet stay. It's roughly a 10-15 minute walk to May Fourth Square, MixC Mall, and Hisense Plaza. Suning and Ginza are even closer, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel is quite sizable, spanning over 20 floors. Higher floors offer glimpses of the sea, views of the light show, and even City Hall. As an InterContinental Hotels Group property, the brand's renowned quality is evident; the amenities are high-quality. The breakfast spread is very generous, featuring both English and Japanese options, and the executive lounge on the 28th floor offers morning tea. The hotel does have a swimming pool, though it's not very large and is primarily used by children attending swimming lessons. On the downside, the rooms are a bit dated, there are no self-service laundry facilities, and the in-room TV doesn't support screen casting.

We arrived at the hotel and was met with smiles and friendliness. Jessica was very helpful and kind and upgraded us to a room with ocean view. We arrived in the room to find the closet space to be under water. I went back to reception and met with Heidi. She was very kind as well and upgraded us to another room with a balcony and hot tub. It was the room I thought I’d originally booked. Now the room was amazing as well as the balcony. The hot tub however was a major let down as it does not work. We still enjoyed the water on the balcony with drinks though. The restaurant the next morning was a big let down. The food was amazing, but the environment was terrible. It was so hot in there and I could not enjoy my breakfast as I was sweating terribly. They did move us, but it was not any better. There was a few let downs, but overall we had a great stay and did not want to leave. Thank you to Jessica and Heidi for all the help and also a big thanks to our private butler( I do not know his name) He was fantastic as well!
