5-Star Hotels in Yunnan, China

The last stop of this Yunnan tour was in Mile. I chose to stay at the MGallery, which is very convenient for activities in Dongfengyun. I arrived at around 3 o'clock that day after climbing Jinping Mountain and seeing the Maitreya Buddha. Xiao Hong and Xiao Ma at the front desk were very welcoming. If conditions permit, they helped to upgrade to a location with a better view. They introduced that the atriums of the 6 accommodation areas have good views for taking photos, and there are also precautions for guests entering and leaving the Dongfengyun scenic area. I like the garden style of the hotel. It is also easy to take photos by walking around the hotel. It is a bit regrettable that I only stayed for one night due to the schedule. I look forward to coming to Mile and MGallery again next time.

Really nice hotel. Definitely live up to Shangrila reputation. The ambiance is very upscale, and the staff are super nice (except for one guy waitstaff in Anie's restaurant, whose answer to anything we asked was ”don't have”, while the items will materialized in seconds when we ask the very nice manager. Btw, the item in question was a fork. What restaurant does not have a fork??. I digress here. The room is large, and amenities are first class. Swimming pool, oxygen room, and the gym are in great condition. Definitely will stay here again if we ever in this area in the future.

A perfect staycation ~ always wanted to try the grand Hyatt hotel, finally got the chance since my housekeeper went back home for a week, my mum and I decided it’s a time for us to have a nice staycation in the city. I’ve tried the Japanese restaurant several times, and I think it’s the best Japanese izakaya in town. Back to the hotel room, the room is spacious and the lighting is great. If you’re the city person, it’s definitely the hotel for you, the location is superb, right in the heart of Kunming City. You may get a ride to anywhere you desire, very next is one of the luxurious shopping centres in town, with the connected passage on the third floor. The hotel staffs are extremely nice and friendly, special thanks to Vincy and Carrie at the front desk,they provided me with the best solutions to extend my stay. For the upcoming future, I think there still a room for improvement, with a great service to start with, I believe it would achieve more.

Apart from the Wi-fi which was terrible for the entire duration of a week (doesn't make sense how this can't be solved very easily, especially if the hotel is making enough money being fully booked). Everything else was absolutely excellent! 👌🏻 The staff are beyond friendly, kind and helpful. They really go out of their way to help (except for making an effort to contact the WiFi providers). I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could do a lot of my business by having access to printing facilities within the Hotel. The swimming pool is quite nice and the staff member was really friendly, giving me a swimming cap when I didn't have. They brought me towels and water to drink. The hotel robot is always a great convenience when it comes to deliveries as it brings the delivery to your room. Breakfast is pretty good just like any top hotel. I usually repeat my stays here.

Excellent stay at the Intercontinental in Kunming. The location is near the lake and a bit further out from the city centre but taxis are convenient. Very good value with spacious and clean rooms. It's a very big hotel with great facilities, including an indoor pool, 24h gym, large garden, bar and restaurants. Service was fantastic throughout our stay, and the front desk (Xiao Fu) helped with various queries promptly and also upgraded our room at check-in. Highly recommended.

Lijiang InterContinental is one of the top hotels where everyone wants to stay. I won't repeat what others have already complemented. Instead, I'd like to emphasize how much I loved the sauna near the indoor pool. After more than 10 days of trekking in Lijiang and Shangri-La, where the sun is strong and the air is dry, my skin and respiratory system became very dry, so I was really worried. Then I found the steam sauna and stayed there for about 2 hours. It moisturized my skin and helped my muscles relax. It was like a heaven. I would highly recommend others to stay there towards the end of their trip, if they can. 😊

Again, Jiangye Resort hotel provide top 1 service while I stay. My hostess Manman prepared the room nicely and bring my stored luggage into the room when she learned that I will arrive late that night. Room is comfortable and very clean. Hotel team helped me ship some extra clothes to my family since I have no time to do by myself. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who need a nice hotel when visit Kunming:)

The biggest feeling is that all the waiters in the hotel are warm and thoughtful. We have stayed in many parent-child hotels with our children, and the waiter training of this hotel is really great! The room is clean and tidy, the layout is warm and spacious, the hotel is in a good location and very quiet. Especially the front desk Minnie George is also very enthusiastic, and she took the initiative to add WeChat. If you have any needs during the three-day stay, you can send her WeChat to help solve them in time. There is also a male lifeguard with braids by the swimming pool. The child's swimming ring fell in the pool. He collected it specially the next day. My mother insisted that I write down to thank him. The buffet dinner is also great. After the meal, I took the children to DIY food. I got more than one comfortable and pleasant stay experience. Our whole family had a lot of fun staying during the May Day holiday.

Second time staying with Sofitel Kunming and they surprised us at check-in with a cute, soft and furry teddy bear for our infant. The staff were so welcoming. They offered us an upgrade to our room, but because we needed lots of table space for all the baby stuff like steriliser and milk powder/bottles station, we turned it down. As a result, Raven (front desk crew) and Pony (hospitality crew) had to scour the hotel for a room identical to our first booking (mostly unavailable at that point of time). They were very helpful and understanding. Also tried out the spa facilities here and had a super relaxing deep tissue massage that really worked away all the knots in my muscles from a hectic travelling schedule with a baby. Forgot my masseuse name but she had a calming voice and shared many lovely insights about Yunnan and tips for our remaining travel itinerary. Can't wait for our next stay with Sofitel.

Hilton is a great starting point if you’re in Dali. Although outside the old town, the escape from the chaos alongside the beautiful property, you’ll definitely feel relaxed here.
