5-Star Hotels in Johor, Malaysia

Well maintained rooms! Very comfortable stay. Just knew that the studio premier room only 1 per level but the view is nice. Especially in the morning wake up to sunrise. Breakfast was generally good. Only issue is that our card key couldn’t work and caused hassle to go down and fix it. Me and kids had to wait and there’s no aircon in lift area. Staff actually came up with my husband to open the door as they don’t know why can’t validate the key!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful 3-night stay at Space Residency. The location is great, as it’s very close to KSL, making it convenient to explore the area and find food and shopping nearby. The self check-in and check-out process was very smooth. The instructions provided were clear and easy to understand, so everything was hassle-free. The room had a beautiful moon-themed design that made it feel cozy and unique. It was well-equipped with a washing machine and dryer, which was very convenient for a longer stay. The washroom amenities and towels were also provided, making the stay even more comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the beautiful view from both rooms. Waking up to such a nice view really made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Space Residency to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay near KSL.

The unit is spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed is bouncy and we slept well. The place also comes with useful amenities like a fridge, electric stove, oven, iron and hair dryer. However, there is no water dispenser or water filter provided. Basic utensils such as plates, spoons and bread knives are available, but there are no forks, bowls or other cooking tools, so you may need to bring your own or purchase separately if you plan to cook. The downside was the check-in experience. We were only given the access card without the bedroom key, and ended up stuck outside for almost an hour trying to figure out how to enter. The owner’s response was quite late, which made the situation frustrating. The TV in the room was also not functioning. On the positive side, the owner did allow a late check-out at 1pm. Overall, the stay was comfortable after settling in, but the initial access issue and late response affected the first impression.

Stayed here many times since it opened. We like the impeccable service and the cleanliness of the room. Close to CIQ, and attached to SKS. While not as diverse as mid valley or KSL, there’re still quite a few good stores like rnc, chagee. Room is spacious and has a big table for dining.

KSL Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Johor Bahru. The location is excellent, with direct access to KSL City Mall, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. We especially like the upgraded rooms, which come with one double bed and one single bed, making them perfect for families or groups of three. If you’re staying on a Monday, you’re in luck because the famous KSL Pasar Malam is right outside the hotel. It’s one of the best night markets in JB, offering delicious local food, affordable shopping, and a lively atmosphere. A great choice for both convenience and value!

Beautiful resort set in a very chill and relaxing atmosphere. Staff provided good service and made us feel at home. Breakfast was decent and had a good variety.  The room was clean and cosy and the mini bar was great.  The only area for improvement is probably the room furniture which has some wear and tear and looks a little aged. The bathroom and toilet floors would impress better if given a chemical cleaning.

Nice hotel with its own private beach and excellent facilities (including free bicycles for an hour) and top notch service. Breakfast was good in terms of variety and quality, as one would expect of a 5 star hotel. However, the rooms - although spacious and well equipped - had visible signs of wear and tear, and badly needed an update. The complimentary coffee/tea could also be better. For the price, one would expect better.

We choose this hotel on a whim as we needed a place that was off the highway for our ride back to KL. I am glad we did. I only wish we had a chance to spend more time here. I think in the future we might make the trip down just to stay here. There are many great amenities here. A beautiful manicured golf course, restaurants, and a bowling alley. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The resort has a Balinese or Thai feel. The rooms are very spacious and have a bathtub. They are well maintained and offer beautiful views of the surrounding scenery.

A big thank you to the entire Hard Rock Hotel Desaru team for making our family trip such a memorable one. Your outstanding hospitality is what truly sets this hotel apart. What impressed us the most was the exceptional service. Every single staff member we encountered from the reception team to housekeeping, the restaurant staff, and everyone around the hotel was incredibly warm, friendly and always greeted us with a genuine smile. They made us feel truly welcomed and valued throughout our stay.
