The staff at the front desk were efficient, though they came across as cold and reserved. The room was disappointing, with run-of-the-mill furniture/furnishings and a creaky chair. The lights were too dim. There was no view as the lower half of the window was blocked by a wall. On the other hand, the bathroom looked quite elegant and was kept clean.
The location is great. There are plenty of dining & shopping options nearby. The hotel has a shopping mall on the lower floors and is next to Mitsukoshi Department Store and Okaido Shopping Street. The Okaido Tram Stop is down the street. The bus stop for the airport limousine is right in front of Mitsukoshi. Attractions such as Bansuiso, Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum and the cable car to Matsuyama Castle are all within walking distance.
Get off at Dogo Onsen Station and walk to the iconic Dogo Onsen Honkan. The hotel is just north of it.
There is a butler at the door who will greet you warmly when you come back. The hotel has its own orange juice tap (pay attention to the time) and a massage chair in the room. If you go out to take a bath in the three famous hot springs, a basket with towels and a yukata are provided free of charge.
The private hot spring is on the first floor underground, with one indoor and one outdoor pool. The quality of the hot spring is very good, and it feels unnecessary to queue at the door of the main building.
A hot spring tax of 150 yen per person per day is collected when checking out.
I am generally pleased with the hotel's facilities and breakfast, as they have met my expectations in many aspects. However, I believe that a more welcoming and accommodating attitude from the staff would significantly enhance the overall guest experience. Additionally, improving their English proficiency, particularly in customer interactions, would be highly beneficial in providing more seamless and professional service to international visitors.
This hotel offers a distinctly international experience, with staff fluent in both Chinese and English. Parking is available for 1200 yen, with an automatic parking tower conveniently located next to the hotel. Friendly staff are on hand to assist with parking. Just simply drive your car into the designated slot, and they will handle the rest, automatically transporting it to an upper floor.
What's more, the parking fee includes unlimited access, so there's no need to worry about being charged multiple times when going out for dinner or exploring the area. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and offer nothing to complain about. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
It is expensive, but it’s worth every single dollar. The hotel located right in the centre of Dogo Onsen. The room is spacious and the view of the city is excellent. The included dinner and breakfast at top notch with excellent service. The service is impeccable!
Summary: Highly recommended!
The service in Japan is very good. The front desk of this hotel is very friendly, with English-speaking service staff, and the communication is very smooth. We did not report the baby when booking, and they helped us set up a tatami bed on site. The service details included asking about the baby's height (giving the corresponding size of kimono/bathrobe) and the size of the baby's feet (giving the baby's clogs and indoor slippers).
The room is very large and the soundproofing is very good. I slept a full night.
The hotel has a shortcut to the Dogo Onsen! It's really less than 100 meters away! Next to it is the Dogo Shopping Street, where tap water and orange juice are.
Good
- location is great, 15 min walking to shopping arcade
- great view, residing right next to the river and cherry blossom.
- great service, they speak both English and Japanese and offer free parking while staying
- room is clean and tidy, and the washroom is stainless clean
Can better
- insufficient parking slot, may need to look for parking if they ares full and maybe expensive
The room was spacious and clean, so I was very satisfied. The bath in the building (additional charge) was also great. It's a bit disappointing that you can't use it if you have a tattoo. The bar on the top floor was also great. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety and was delicious.
First of all, when I arrived at the elevator hall on the 13th floor, I could see the castle, which was more impressive than I expected.
Everyone at the front desk was very efficient and polite, and the location made it easy to get to anywhere, so I'm glad I chose this hotel.

KKatpurrrrvery accommodating service for my family. Beautiful and well maintained place with great customer care. My mother was very satisfied and was happy.
GGuest UserNice location. It's just like an ordinary Japanese hot spring hotel, the highlight is the hot spring pool on the top floor, where you can look up at the stars at night. The dinner was average (felt like a group meal). As other reviews suggested, if you don't have a meal package, you can go to the hot spring street to eat and you might have a better experience.
