Pros Great location for exploring Themal and provided you are not too high up, you shouldn't hear any road noise as it's set back. I was on the 4th floor and could hear the incessant beeping motorbikes but had moved from the first floor where i heard none (but was directly above the kitchen so could hear banging and chairs scraping from around 6am). 2nd floor is probably a good choice Staff were all excellent Room cleaned daily with 2 large bottles of water provided each day Breakfast was ok - decent variety of fruit, local and western with custom eggs. Coffee was instant though. Air con has heat facility No deposit required on check-in Toiletries provided Cons Some noise depending on your room location - dont stay in 107 or room directly above the kitchen/restaurant No safe for passport, cash etc in room Breakfast area isn't particularly clean i.e. dirty table cloths/mats Poor standard of fixtures/fittings e.g. gaps in windows and doors, curtains dont quite close right, dirty shower curtain, the rooms have seen better days but for the price its still good value. No coffee or milk in room (or 3-in one) No phone charging point near the bed Bathroom mat was old and dirty, no floor towel Tips: take extra passport photo if you intend to get a sim card at the airport, unlimited data one with nepal telecom cost me $10 - signal was mostly ok. Get your currency before you arrive or take enough to convert there, the atm machines are expensive Taxi from airport to Themal should be around 350 rupees working on 50 rupees per km plys 30 rupees start charge. You will be hounded relentlessly by people from the second you leave the plane for tour services etc. It may seem impolite but dont make eye contact, say no thank you and keep walking, otherwise you will spend your entire trip speaking to them. Right now its cold at night, pack accordingly. Be prepared to pay for everything, every temple, every place of historical interest - foreigners are charged around 1000-2000 rupees each time. E.g. all the Durbar squares, main stupas and temples. Don't assume that because Nepal is a developing country it is cheap. It isn't. In fact i found it comparable to some developed countries and not cheaper than say Thailand. A meal would cost me around 1000 rupees. In a smaller more local place you may pay 500. Don't take your new trainers, it's a very dirty, dusty city but exactly what you would expect if you've ever seen it on TV - it's all part of the experience. For exploring all of the main parts of Kathmandu, id say 5 days is a good amount of time. I recommend the everest helicopter tour but on that note i will say that tours are very expensive here, more expensive than even Hong Kong, Thailand, etc!! I ended up walking to the main temples, Chandragiri, Bakhtapur for the more local experience.

I recently stayed at Hotel Anuttara in Nepal and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. My room was clean and well-equipped, providing all the essentials for a comfortable visit. The hotel’s restaurant offered a diverse menu with tasty local dishes. Its convenient location made it easy to access shopping and dining options nearby. Although not a retreat, the lively atmosphere added to the experience, making it ideal for travelers wanting to immerse themselves in the local culture. I highly recommend Hotel Anuttara for anyone visiting the area!

The hotel is very good, the environment is newly renovated, the Chinese are open, the service is warm, and the price is reasonable. It is recommended that those who travel there can live here.

I was worried because there were no reviews from Japanese people, but the Google rating was good, so I made a reservation and it was a big hit! The design seemed new, so I asked and found out that it had just opened last month, and it was incredibly clean! (That's why I understand why there were so few reviews) I think this hotel is suitable for Japanese people, so I'll write a review. Good points •It's a new building, so it's new and clean •There are many global design outlets (there is also a USB type at the bedside) •There are two 1-liter PET bottles of water •It has a jacuzzi, sauna, and mist sauna (I didn't use it, but the mist sauna smelled so good that I wanted to use it. It seems like it would be better to bring a swimsuit.) •The breakfast is delicious! They also make masala tea! •The staff is super kind (the manager also understands a little Japanese) •It's located off the main road, so it's quiet at night! •The bed mat was firm and I slept soundly! Notes •I thought I had booked a room with a bathtub, but it wasn't available for my room type! If you need one, it might be better to inquire in advance. •I stayed for multiple nights, but cleaning was not included. I had my luggage spread out so that was better for me, but I wish they had at least changed the towels. I asked at the front desk and they gave me new towels so it was no problem! There was a currency exchange on the way to the hotel and the rate wasn't bad. Anyway, it was clean and cheap, and if I stay in Kathmandu I'll come back!

The hotel is at a good location, close to local shops and restaurants and the bus stop. Room was clean with good views of the hills and valleys. The breakfast was below average and one morning I got foul smelling corn. One night when I returned at around 10 PM the main door was closed and had to call their number and wait few minutes outside for them to open the main door.

I chose the room that can directly see the Himalayan mountain view. There is a small balcony that is free, but basically there are no blind spots in many corners of the entire hotel. In short, the snow-capped mountains are full of snow-capped mountains that you will never forget for years. The staff at the hotel are very friendly, and they reminded me enthusiastically that the sunrise is at 06:12 in the past few days, and I will get up at about 05:45 to get ready. This time I booked a room for three nights, so I think confidently , Whether I wake up or not, I will always see it. (The best suggestion is to stay for more than two nights. After all, the clouds and fog on the mountain are unpredictable. I saw a group of guests who only booked for one night, and it turned out to be foggy the next day.) Basically, I eat, drink and relax in the restaurant. I watch Indian TV series that I don’t understand. In the morning, I suggest that you can take the plate to the balcony of the restaurant to enjoy. Will sincerely thank Shan for his hospitality.

The property is like situated on heaven. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The properties usp is its access and its infinity pool. They also have a warm water open jacuzzi beside the pool which is icing on the cake. The rooms are big in size & with traditional designs. The visitors should park there car and take free cable car ride to and fro the resort. We didn’t check this and drove to this place, which could have been nightmare if the weather was bad. The clouds come and go throughout the day and night, so in a moment it would be clear the very other moment the visibility would be zero. Their sale manager prabhakar was one guy to talk to, he was such a vibe.

GGuest UserNice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

GGuest UserThe location is on the edge of the pedestrian street in Thamel District, close to the pedestrian street, and very quiet. However, the entrance is a bit shabby. There are many European and American guests staying. The breakfast is a combination of Indian and Western styles. There is an outdoor dining area where you can smoke. The front desk is a bit small and not atmospheric. The hotel is listed as a four-star hotel. The hotel's service staff have very good attitudes and have no problem communicating in English at the front desk.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is new and clean with excellent service, and has walkable distance to Thamel. There is security officer in hotel entrance which made me feel safe, and also a chinese restaurant with good quality of food. All of the staff can speak very well Chinese and English so communication is not a problem in the hotel. The most attractive point of the hotel is the owner 小明 who is also a travel company owner. He helped me arranged airport transport, two-day Pokhara trip as well as one-day sunrise and city-sightseeing trip which were all very well organised with reasonable price. He speaks fluent Mandarin and I communicated with him via wechat for all the arrangements (just email the hotel to ask for his wechat). I can truly feel that the owner and all staff made best effort to make every visitor to feel warm and welcoming like a home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kathmandu.

GGuest UserA very interesting hotel. The old building I stayed in was a bit old, but the hotel has a very beautiful and comfortable garden, providing a quiet place to rest in the heart of the city. The hotel has a rich history, next to the National Art Museum, and there is an art house in the hotel, which has many interesting works and the artists themselves are present. The hotel restaurant looks good (I didn't try it myself), and there is also a Himalayan Java coffee. Not your ordinary hotel, a hotel with a soul!

JJohn Vincent (JV)New Hotel with Great Roof Top View, needs to improve. Room is nice, smells new, however bed sheet is completely new , itchy , it’s like just bought and not washed , direct to the bed or been there dusty for long time. Towel is dirty white, not convenient. Water is totally disappointed, Color yellow, un-filtered and smells. Need proper filtration. Massage, all is new, bed is sounding haha , no music , no aroma for 8k local currency, 1 hour, masseuse was good. Food some are great, some are tough. View is the best for this hotel, but they open only afternoon to 10.. if you are sunrise person , this hotel is not for you. Sun set was great. Staffs are friendly, however next visit should be more thoughtful on guiding guests, where is elevator, what are facilities and hotel can offer. Breakfast was fair, price is recommendable.

GGuest UserThe room and area was good, but I experienced a scam provided by the receptionist. I have consulted the tour advice with the reception, the guy provided me an excellent two-day rafting package that called by a tourist agent. In the tour, that was a disaster, the tour only half-day with 1/3 distance of his presented tour. The cost he charged me is almost 5 times of the normal price in internet. I would prefer that should be a very special tour and different from I found in internet. That was totally scam and waste my time and money, it was extremely affect my plan and mood. I would report this experience to the concerned parties. It really a shame of Nepalese.

GGuest UserI had the most wonderful experience at Lo Mustang in November 2024. I came to Nepal for a wedding and Anisha at the front desk went above and beyond. Customer service was 10/10. I got recommendations for tailoring, jewelry, dry cleaning, and local dresses with transportation. Deepika, front desk manager, was fantastic always making sure my needs were being met and that my stay was comfortable. The hotel is in the perfect location with great amenities. I initially chose this spot because of the beautiful traditional decor. It was beautiful in person with murals on each floor. Breakfast is fantastic with a roof top view. I booked a second time on my way back home because it was so great. I traveled solo and left with new friends.
