4-Star Hotels in Bagmati, Nepal

This is a newly built hotel, and it's rare to find such clean bathrooms in Nepal. It's located in a quiet spot at the entrance of Thamel, right next to the Garden of Dreams. While it's a bit far from central areas like Durbar Square, it's a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet at the hotel. Since it seems brand new, the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was also spotless, so I felt very comfortable using it. The breakfast area on the 8th floor offered a lovely view. The front desk staff were polite, but during breakfast, I noticed other guests were asked for their egg orders, whereas I wasn't (perhaps because I had already taken scrambled eggs). Also, coffee (other than instant) at breakfast was an extra charge.

Hotel Lo Mustang is located in Thamel And its unique selling point has to be its location as it is very close to all of the shops bars and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and the WiFi is very strong

I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel during my visit to Kathmandu. The property is beautiful and full of character, making it an excellent choice for travelers who appreciate traditional Nepali architecture and culture. The hotel has done a wonderful job preserving its heritage charm, creating a peaceful and authentic atmosphere that feels very different from a typical modern hotel. As an eco-friendly property, the hotel does not provide air conditioning or a refrigerator in the rooms. However, I did not find this to be an issue at all, as the weather was pleasant and comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were outstanding. Everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful, always greeting guests with a smile and making me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was simple and fairly standard, without a huge variety of choices, but everything was fresh and enjoyable. The yogurt, in particular, was excellent and definitely worth trying. There was only one minor issue in my room: the ceiling fan seemed to run at the same speed regardless of the setting, so even the lowest level felt quite strong. I never mentioned it to the front desk because it was not a major inconvenience. The biggest area for improvement would be the Wi-Fi connection. Unfortunately, the signal was quite weak and unreliable, especially for anyone who needs a stable internet connection for work or communication. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The beautiful traditional design, eco-conscious concept, relaxing atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality more than made up for the small inconveniences. The environment and hygiene conditions are good, quite decent for Kathmandu. If you have a late flight, you can pay extra to request a late check-out until 6 PM. I'm giving the service a 2-star rating because of two front desk staff members. Staff member A miscalculated the amount when I was paying the remaining balance plus breakfast (everyone, please pay attention to the numbers they write down, they might not always be correct). After I pointed it out, it took him a while to realize his mistake, and I almost overpaid by more than $10. Staff member B kept asking me if I had paid on my last night, even after I told him that I had paid the full amount on my first day. I had to answer at least three times before I got visibly annoyed, and he probably finally checked the system and confirmed my payment before he stopped asking. I was originally going to give a 1-star rating, but on the last day, after checking out, I was waiting for my ride in the lobby for a long time. The lobby manager kindly came out to ask about my situation and mentioned that next time I could request a late check-out, which brought my rating back up to 2 stars. I hope they can update their front desk system, at least so they don't miscalculate numbers when settling bills, and so they can easily check payment status instead of repeatedly asking guests who have already paid.

In the heart of Thamel, little oasis in the chaos of Thamel. Cable TV, large comfortable rooms and bed. A total pleasure to stay there. There's bars around that are a little noisy but by midnight it usually stops . They have earplugs if your sensitive to sound. Well worth the money to stay here.

Highly recommended! This place is perfect for those who appreciate the history and culture of Kathmandu. You can walk to Durbar Square, and there's so much to see along the way – it's a very pleasant stroll. Just 50 meters down the street, you'll find several modern restaurants offering Chinese, Korean, Western, and vegetarian options. The hotel's own restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, though be warned, the food can be quite strong-flavored and salty, so you might want to ask the kitchen to reduce the salt. The staff are all very polite and attentive, always looking out for your needs. The hotel manager is very welcoming and enjoys chatting with guests. When you book a taxi at the front desk, you only pay the fare, with no extra charges. The hotel has just been renovated and is very clean.

Lakhey Hotel is the best hotel in Kathmandu! The staff are super friendly, check-in is very easy, and they always help me get a taxi. They offered a welcome drink, which was lovely. The boss speaks excellent Chinese and even arranged a trek for me—very satisfying! Hot water is great, breakfast is delicious, and their Sichuan restaurant has amazing food (must try!). After my EBC trek, I stayed here again because I missed Chinese food. Location is nice, rooms are big—I stayed in room 1108 with a beautiful Kathmandu city view. Highly recommend to everyone. A great hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. Both the rooms and common areas are decorated in a national style, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The panoramic restaurant on the 7th floor is fantastic – delicious food with a diverse breakfast buffet and an extensive menu for other meals, including both local and European dishes. The hotel also has a very good spa, though it doesn't operate late into the evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend.

The hotel offers an airport pick-up service (fee: 20 USD), which requires one day's advance notice. It's about a 15-minute drive from the airport. The hotel lobby is bright and spacious, and the front desk staff are polite. The room matched the pictures, with plenty of space and wooden furniture, giving it a warm feel. The bathroom was clean, and while the shower pressure was a bit weak, it was acceptable. Breakfast is served from 7-10 AM, and it's a buffet with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, convenient for vegetarians. The hotel's service is truly excellent. If you have any issues, just ask, and the staff are very happy to help and are proactively attentive.
