Very good location. Room is very spacious and comfortable. Small tube of dish washing detergent and 2 small packets of milk were provided in the room. Very thoughtful gesture as it saves us short vacation travellers a lot of hassle of buying from supermarket and reduces wastage because we used to buy for just a few days' use and had to throw away big bottles of detergent and milk.

My husband and I stayed in Sofitel for 3 nights and everything was honestly 10/10. The staff are excellent - so friendly and helpful. They attended to all our needs. Special shoutout to Nia and Kla for being so friendly :) The place itself is luxurious and all the amenities were fantastic. The buffet was just phenomenal - they had everything you can ask for! One of the best breakfast buffets we have had and we have travelled all over the world. We felt spoilt for choice. We loved our stay here and definitely would highly recommend!! Oh and I can’t forget to mention that the location is super convenient surrounding Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay Wharf - had several places to eat and just an overall beautiful atmosphere.

Great location, staff are friendly and helpful. Doorman, showed excellent service - he was very friendly and made sure we had umbrellas on a a rainy day. The room was nice and comfortable, and a generous size bed for two. Nice bathroom with bath tub, standing shower and separate toilet. The only pet peeve we had was that the ventilation in the bathroom was not that great, as there was a slight mouldy smell from the bathroom leaking in to the main room. The gym was small but very good as it had an abundance of equipment. There was filtered water and many apples for a post-workout snack, which was very convenient. However, all in all it was a pleasant stay and we would not hesitate to visit again, hopefully in a different room.

I booked a room with a balcony but when I checked in they said it not available coz their system says standard twin room and showed then showers them My boking when they saw it they said they can’t provide that room on the first night so have to stay in a different room then they said they will bring my bags to the new room but ended up it was in the reception. That wrong system happens a couple of times already but they still haven’t fix the problem. Im not sure I’m gonna stay there again if ever I go back to Sydney. Their location was really good though.

We rolled up to the hotel, bags in hand and spirits high. From the outside, it looked like the kind of boutique spot influencers post on Instagram—cute, chic, and full of promise. We strolled in early, met the staff (who were lovely and all business), and casually asked about early check-in. Much to our surprise—they hit us with an upgrade! Jackpot! We were giddy. Dreams of fluffy robes and a minibar danced in our heads. That is… until we opened the door to our upgraded paradise. The hallway greeted us with a strong aroma of… chicken noodle soup? Maybe Ramen? Honestly, it was hard to tell. It was like a college dorm met a food court. But once we opened our room door? Oh no. That smell leveled up into full-blown “somebody’s been cooking something weird in here for days”. Still, it’s an upgrade, right? Maybe the smell was just... vintage? Then we realized: no air-conditioning. No water. And the bedroom TV? Decorative only. We called the front desk and were offered a fan—because apparently, the air con wouldn’t be fixed anytime soon. Now, yes, it was winter. But we'd been running around Sydney like caffeinated tourists and were basically sweating out our sightseeing schedule. The fan helped blow the smell around the room, if nothing else. So, the upgrade? We're still not sure what it was—maybe it was just the scent… of disappointment. BUT—we were in the heart of Sydney. The location? 10/10. We even had a washer and dryer, which came in handy when our clothes started absorbing that hallway smell. Showering felt a bit like prepping for a Fear Factor challenge, but we made it through. The beds? Solid. Like, literal rocks. I woke up feeling like I'd lost a fight with a cement truck. But hey—we survived two nights. We lived. We laughed. We lightly questioned our life choices. And most importantly: you get what you pay for… and sometimes a little more, like the scent of soup that haunts you long after checkout

We loved our room, it was very homey, clean and comfortable. We also loved the pool, would have been nice if it was heated. Housekeeping made sure the sheets were changed and cleaned everyday throughout our stay, we appreciated that. Buffet breakfast was nice and staff were lovely and accommodating. We also would like to thank Tasha for making an effort to look for our missing charger and for resolving the issue. We were supposed to stay for 4 days but ended up extending for our one week vacation in Sydney! The rooms are big, we need to transfer to another room as we extended our stay and had to do another booking. It was a busy week due to the vivid Sydney but they are still able to find us a room. There is a famous restaurant on the lower floor and also a place where kids can hangout with gadgets and a pool table. It’s very convenient and just walking distance to the Darling Harbour as well as the city proper. There are a lot of convenience store around as well as restaurants. Will book here when we come back to Sydney and recommend this to family and friends.
