Established in 1879, this hotel is indeed the Grand Birmingham Hotel! It oozes classiness throughout. Our room was spacious but looking at the floor plan, that seems to be the standard! Bathrobes provided though not slippers. The shower has a door instead of the useless walk in panels that never work! No useless espresso cups but proper world map mugs for our coffees and tea in-room. Two comfortable arm chairs and the bed… The bed was a dream and I’m hoping to source the exact mattress topper and duvet! Perfect for me as a smoker, the hotel has an exclusive courtyard terrace on the first floor offering complimentary self service coffee. There are two adjacent restaurants to the hotel that uphold a dress code ensuring the premises is classy throughout. Beyond the hotel doors there’s plenty other eateries as the hotel is bang in the centre right by the Birmingham Cathedral: again perfect for our following Palm Sunday. The only thing I don’t understand is why the hotel entrance is not bigger and grander than it deserves.

The beds were ultra comfortable and I had the best night of sleep I’ve had in weeks. Room was small but unless you’re planning on spending a lot of time in the room, it was perfect. Bathroom was great, very clean and had a rain shower head which I loved. They didn’t really provide any toiletries other than hand wash and body wash, I had to buy my own shampoo and conditioner. There’s also no fridge/microwave, but there was tea and coffee with a kettle provided. I would definitely recommend and I would stay again.

It was worst experience , I planned one night stay in Radisson blu hotel with my husband and I booked hotel through trip app and in this app no where they mentioned about 50 pound deposit when we arrived in the hotel then receptionist informed us 😒 about deposit and second thing AC as well as TV not working and it was my husband birthday I booked that hotel to make his birthday more special but unfortunately that night gave us worst memory . Receptionist gave fan but it doesn’t work , room temperature was not tolerable , my husband felt suffocated , he slept only for 2 hours . Hotel was fully booked so that’s why we have no option to changed the room but they ready to give us refund but refund is not solution because it’s disturb our plan , budget ☹️.

To be fair Birmingham at first glance coming out of the station doesn’t look all that safe for a foreign traveller. The route to the hotel would initially reinforce that impression. However after walking the city the next day for over 6-8 hours, while the location is NOT city Center, it is actually located in a good place close to all the major places I need to visit on foot; train station, the mega mall Bullring, Birmingham city center / cathedral / St Martin’s mkt, the hip new part of town - Gas Basin (canal waterways) and also the city’s modern library with the rooftop gdns (@ Centenary Square). The rooms looked like it was recently refurbished. For the price I paid (58 Pounds for 2 pax), it was the best value out of my entire 16 day UK trip covering 15 different towns - up & down the UK (incl London/Cambridge/Leicester/Coventry). In short, a pretty damn good deal. It had aircon which was a major blessing in summer as most other places I stayed, didn’t have that.

The location is close to Birmingham Snow Hill station. I think l just need to take about 5 minutes to get to the station. I feel perfectly fine when l stayed there. Bedsheet, pillow and the dormitory are clean. The other travellers in my dormitory were very considerate that makes me feel very happy and lucky. For budget travelers, this hostel is worth staying.

Lovely and clean hotel. Rooms nice and clean. Enough space for our requirements. Great breakfast, plenty of choice. Requested rooms on a low floor and close to each other. Unfortunately, we were given floor 14. This wasn't an issue this time as there was no need to do the stairs at any point. Would definitely recommend this hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Birmingham! From the moment we stepped into the Novotel Birmingham Centre, we were met with warmth and professionalism. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Our room was spacious, spotless, and modern, with all the comforts you’d expect — a super comfy bed, great shower, fast WiFi, and a smart layout that made it easy to relax or get a bit of work done. We also loved the eco-conscious touches throughout the hotel. The location is unbeatable — right in the city centre, just a short walk to the Bullring, Broad Street, and the Mailbox. It’s perfect whether you’re in Birmingham for shopping, food, nightlife or business. Breakfast was another highlight: fresh pastries, a full hot English option, fresh fruit, and great coffee — all beautifully presented in a bright and airy dining area. We also really appreciated the 24/7 gym and relaxed bar area, which made winding down after a day out so easy. Overall, Novotel Birmingham Centre exceeded our expectations. It’s a fantastic choice for couples, families, or business travellers looking for quality, location, and great service. We’ll definitely be back!

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, my experience was quite mixed. The location itself is excellent, with easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. However, there are several issues that affected my stay. First, the air conditioning in the room was not cold enough, even when set to the lowest temperature. This made it difficult to sleep comfortably, especially during warm weather. Second, the WiFi provided was an unsecured public network, which did not feel safe for handling any personal or sensitive information online. While the room was reasonably clean, the bathroom had a persistent mouldy smell that did not go away throughout my stay. Overall, I would not recommend staying here for more than one night. There are better options available in the same area.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but had dust in certain parts of the lighting and table. The bathroom didn’t smell to good when we got there. There wasn’t much soap to wash your hands. Unfortunately at night time the people next door were loud and at times the door was shutting it would wake you up. The tv remote wasn’t working properly.

Great location with easy access to the city and free parking, though spaces fill up quickly on weekends with events. Bus stop is only 3 mins walk. Rooms are very small and lack basics like slippers or a mini fridge. Also would be good if there's more lighting in the room, especially where the full length mirror is. We were placed on the ground floor at the far end; when I asked to change during check-in, I was told it was fully booked, yet rooms showed as available online! Also was unable to keep curtains open on ground level room as people are walking by right outside the window. Cleanliness was excellent. Reception service was inconsistent—only a couple of staff were genuinely helpful. Overall, good location and parking, clean rooms, but overpriced for what feels like a 3-star hotel which still lacks very basic things and average service overall.
