The hotel was a bit of a disappointment. Starting with the good points the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Als the design of the hotel looks really good and with beautiful views. Unfortunately there were also some issues like the tv remote not working (what was fixed directly by a friendly guy), water in the bathtub/shower not properly draining and a empty minibar which we filled ourselves but wasn’t cool at all. There also was no coffeemaker or ketel in the room. Also we were told the roofbar would be opened from our second day but when we went there we sat there and no one even greeted us. When a big group of people came in (after 15min of sitting there) there came someone who told them the bar was closed. After a while we went away and still weren’t spoken to.

Lovely hotel, amazingly centrally situated, and so we were able to walk to all the things we needed to see and do. Breakfast excellent with a good choice of hot and cold food. Staff generally very kind and polite. Our one complaint was that the TV in the bedroom we had, kept losing or freezing the picture on the BBC world news channel, and a small icon kept appearing from LG, which after waiting a while restored the screen. We complained about this on the first morning we were there, and the reception noted it and siad an engineer would go and attend to it. This was not done and for the whole stay sadly we were frustrated by the TV which was really of no use to us what so ever. I have read other similar stories on Tripadvisor about the same complaint, and so clearly the hotel is aware of the problem but seemingly chooses not to do anything about it. This is a shame, beacuse something so easy, and expected would make a huge difference to one's enjoyment of the room. Other than that, really we had no complaints, and would certainly stay again.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Madrid. Super well located, you can even see ”sol” from the terrace. Rooms are big and spacious, however, be aware that location implies noise, you are in Downton so you might hear ambulance sirens and so on.... You will have ear plugs in case you need them. I would like to highlight that the staff was extremely kind and efficient.

Our stay at Hard Rock was really pleasant! The staff were really helpful and accommodating, ready to answer all our questions and provide recommendations. Special shout to Alejandro and Alberto at the front desk, and also Adrian who took care of our luggages. There are two bars, one in the lobby and one on the rooftop. Drinks are good. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so we can’t comment on that. Room was nice and comfortable, they clean daily. Only thing I didn’t like was the sink was outside the bathroom. Not sure why many people complained about the location. There are PLENTY of cafes, bars, and restaurants within walking distance and all frequented by locals. It’s also just a couple of stops away from Sol station. Here’s a tip, the hotel will tell you that the nearest station is Atocha, but we feel like Lavapies station is much closer and easier to walk to. Lavapies is also only one stop from Sol station - which is the centre. For breakfast, there is a Panaderia right across the road. For lunch or dinner, there’s Bar Argumosa and Orisha restaurant. If you’re okay to walk a bit more, there’s a lovely neighbourhood called Anton Martin with many bars and restaurants too.

The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options to suit every taste. The dining area was bright and inviting, making it the perfect way to start the day. Staff were very friendly. Room was basic but comfy and clean, just a little bit hot even I turned on the aircon to the highest level. Breakfast was great with lots of fresh fruits and food, bread and nice coffee (my personal preference though 😋 ) ham was soso though. The only minor point was I took a few dishes, they were not cleaned and sticky at the bottom with some sauce still on them. Not sure if it's just an accident, but the hotel may need some attention to it.

I’m extremely fussy traveller and this place tick all the boxes. Above all, it is Hotel that is friendly to English speaking countries. I highly rate this hotel and should I return to Madrid again; it will be the “go to hotel” for me! Oh there’s one more thing, it’s not far from all places of attractions; you can get to these places by foot (example Prado Museum) or by taxi that cost no more than 10€.

The family room on the 6th floor was very nice, with a water dispenser right at the door and a sparkling water option. After completing this order, I have to praise the hotel and trip.com for their service! This time, we had trouble communicating with the hotel due to language barriers. Fortunately, we contacted trip.com's customer service immediately. After the hotel communicated with the customer service in the local language, they responded to our request very quickly and were willing to cooperate as much as possible over the past few days.
