Because my child loves the Harbour City and Star Ferry Pier area, we've stayed at one of the three Marco Polo properties every year. My favorite is Marco Polo Hong Kong – it's classic yet comfortable, and its lounge is better than the Gateway's. Last summer, during our stay, I experienced unprofessional and discriminatory treatment from the front desk staff and was given a low-floor sea view room facing a car park. Consequently, I left an honest negative review on Ctrip. This year upon check-in, it truly felt like the hotel had taken the Ctrip feedback to heart. They must have given specific instructions to both the front desk and lounge staff, as we felt exceptionally well looked after overall. The two gentlemen in the lounge, in particular, were incredibly kind, sincere, and attentive. The gentleman from the concierge who escorted us to the executive floor, who I believe is the head of concierge, was also very dedicated and conscientious. Just before taking us upstairs, he even saw an elderly person at the main entrance needing help and immediately directed staff to assist. Overall, I noticed the hotel has implemented some cost-saving measures; for instance, the executive floor toiletries are no longer single-use. However, I fully support and embrace all eco-friendly and waste-reducing initiatives. While the food range in the lounge has been slightly reduced, the quality remains consistently high. There also seem to have been some significant staff changes; the previous expatriate manager in the lounge is no longer present, and the front desk staff are much more approachable, not exhibiting the aloofness sometimes perceived from local staff before. Every single staff member, from top to bottom, now seems very down-to-earth, diligent, and dedicated – which is excellent. With such effective management, I wish them continued prosperity in Hong Kong's highly competitive hotel industry.

Excellent hotel for families, work or solo travellers! We stayed at Club room and all employees there were so welcoming and polite. During typhoon Ragasa they managed everything in such an orderly manner that, apart of noise from the wind, we didn’t feel any impact on the level of service at all.

The room was decent and offered a partial sea view. My only minor complaints were the low floor (4th) and the noise from the adjacent restaurant. Check-in and check-out weren't very smooth, and surprisingly, no complimentary bottled water was provided in the room. On the plus side, the shower pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable experience. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the subway station, but it's very conveniently located for shopping malls and local attractions. If the price is right, I would definitely consider staying here again!

The rooms here are spacious with modern amenities, including a capsule coffee machine and a microwave. The hotel is conveniently located near Shek Mun Station, with plenty of dining options in the vicinity. Shek Mun MTR also offers easy access to West Kowloon Station. It's a quiet retreat despite its bustling surroundings, and MTR access makes getting around a breeze. The front desk staff spoke excellent Mandarin and were very helpful. The price was affordable, and our two-night stay was very comfortable, offering great value for money. Highly satisfied and recommended! It had been a while since I last visited Hong Kong, and during this trip, after exploring for a few days, I found Mandarin widely spoken everywhere. Mobile payments for transport and shopping were also incredibly convenient. Overall, a fantastic experience!

The room is really small and dated. The sink is separate from the toilet. Booked a double bed room but was told that they do not have any rooms left and gave us a twin room and will help to move the two beds together. Each of us have a 20inch luggage and we barely have enough place to open the luggage. The slippers provided were so thin they broke when they got wet. Bed sheets with stain and hairs, no additional pillows provided. Shower area was really small that when you closed the curtain, it will kept stick to you skin during your shower, and water kept going out to the toilet area making the whole bathroom wet. The shampoo provided has a strong odour, the conditioner is not like the usual conditioner, the shower gel is still acceptable. No place except for the rack above the toilet that we can hang our clothes, just a few hooks at the corner of the bedroom. Hairdryer is provided. We were travelling for 10 days but we will be visiting Macau for a night so we had two bookings. For the first booking, we saw a cockroach on the 2nd night, so when we check in on our 2nd booking, I informed the receptionist that we do not want the same floor (23th floor) and was given another floor, and was finally given a double bed room. Double bedroom is the same size as the twin bedroom, there's a really small bathtub and it helped with the curtain as it did not stick to my skin during my shower. And the sink is placed inside the bathroom, and there's a steel with hangers at the area which was originally the sink area for twin bedroom. This bedroom layout is way much better although the room is small. The hotel is really near to Tsim Sha Tsui, walking distance, but was really hot in the Summer. There's a miniso just around the metro station. And also walking distance to my favourite dessert milk pudding at Australia Dairy Co. A thing to note, I called to ask if we could leave our luggage at the hotel overnight because we will be coming back from Macau to stay for another 4 nights, they said we could but never mentioned any charges. I thought it would be free as we are returning customers but when we were there in the concierge to place the luggage, we were told that we have to pay HKD20 per piece for overnight, I told the staff we called but did not mention anything that we have to pay, he said there will be no charges for luggage that will be collected on the same day but there will be charges for luggage for overnight. Overall, if you're just looking for a place to stay for the night, then go for it. If you're looking for a better room environment, I would suggest other hotels.

This is a well-established hotel, and overall, it was quite good. There are plenty of dining options nearby. Our room was surprisingly quiet; you wouldn't guess it's located in such a bustling area! The service was excellent!!!! However, I have a few minor observations: 1. I personally found the scent/perfume in the hotel lobby right upon entering quite overpowering. This is, of course, a personal preference, and others might actually enjoy it. 2. Regarding the bathtub: I understand that as an older hotel, this might be the traditional setup. However, since renovations are currently underway, I would suggest replacing it with a walk-in shower. There was no handheld showerhead, only a fixed overhead one, which caused a bit of inconvenience. 3. The power outlets were positioned very strangely. For instance, to boil water, I had to place the kettle on the floor. Similarly, if your charging cable isn't long enough, your device ends up on the floor as well. Perhaps a different furniture arrangement or a redesign of the outlet placement would help? Honestly, this was the most frustrating aspect!

Let me be frank, the room is tiny - like I don’t even know how one would sit on the toilet, it being that close to the shower. But that’s to be expected in Hong Kong. I had no issue with finding the hotel or checking in. The only issue I’d raise is the bedding having a slight smell to it.

Great experience! I enjoyed the hotel design, the room was small, but enough for 1 person. The gentleman working on reception was very welcoming, I immediately felt at home. The area is close to vibrant Mongkok markets, but not too close, so it was very quiet. The hotel provides with adapter for a phone charger, which is very convenient. The air conditioning system is a bit loud, so if you are sensitive to noise, it is better to bring earplugs, just in case.

This is my go-to hotel every year I visit. The location is excellent, and while the facilities are a bit dated, the cleanliness is generally good. It's very quiet at night, ensuring a peaceful sleep. Overall, I have a positive impression. The surrounding area is incredibly convenient for dining, entertainment, and transportation. The famous Chungking Mansions, known from many Hong Kong films, is right next door, and Canton Road is also just a short walk away. The room is spacious, with beautiful city views and a prime location. There are many malls downstairs, and the property is directly connected to the MTR station, making it very convenient. However, the wardrobe and bathroom need improvement; cleanliness could be better as there was some dust, and the bathroom felt a bit dated. Only an overhead shower was available, with no handheld option, and water often leaked out onto the bathroom floor, making it slippery and inconvenient. Overall, it was a good stay, but the bathroom and cleaning could be improved.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience was not satisfactory. The Wi-Fi in my room was completely unusable, which made it difficult to stay connected. Additionally, the television could not find any channels, leaving me without entertainment. To make matters worse, the sofa in the wardrobe area was not clean; there were still strands of hair on it, which was quite off-putting. Overall, the lack of basic amenities and cleanliness issues greatly affected my stay. I hope the management addresses these concerns for future guests.

Hotel is pretty decent for HK and the price we paid, considering holiday season. But disappointed for a 4-Star chain standards. All basic facilities are provided. No frills. More like a 3-star than a 4-star. Shuttle makes it easier to get to shopping centre, closer to trains and buses to the city. Pool is only open during specific hours but they do have a lifeguard in duty so I’m not sure if I can complain. Gym has bare minimum equipment. They did mention we got an upgrade but the room is similar to what we booked. It’s a modern-tiny space-saving design room so it’s smart but annoying with the lack of cupboards, floor space etc. Everything in the room is tightly packed. You just get in, sleep an get out but that’s Hong Kong I guess.

This seaside hotel is truly one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome from the staff and the relaxing atmosphere of the ocean breeze. The location is perfect — right next to the beach, where you can hear the soothing sound of waves all day and night. The sea view from my room was absolutely stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. It felt peaceful and refreshing, the perfect escape from the busy city life. The rooms are beautifully designed, very clean, and comfortable. Every detail shows the hotel’s high standards — from the soft bedding and ocean-themed decor to the thoughtful little touches like fresh flowers and complimentary snacks. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the balcony gave me a perfect spot to enjoy my morning coffee while watching the waves. The staff deserve special praise. They were kind, polite, and always smiling. They helped me with everything I needed, from arranging transportation to recommending local restaurants and activities. Their service felt genuine and personal, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel restaurant was another highlight. The food was fresh, especially the seafood, which was cooked to perfection. I loved having breakfast by the beach, enjoying the gentle breeze and the sound of seagulls. The buffet had a wide variety of choices, both local and international, and every dish tasted great. The facilities were also excellent — the pool was clean and had a great view of the sea, and the spa offered relaxing massages that made me feel completely renewed. Everything was well-maintained and clearly managed with care. Overall, this hotel is a perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and top-quality service. It offers a peaceful environment where you can truly relax and feel connected to nature. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable seaside getaway. I will definitely return again, and next time, I plan to stay even longer to enjoy every moment by the ocean.
