The hotel is perfectly situated right on the Royal Mile – the location is absolutely superb! It's just an 8-minute walk from the train station. Be aware that there are some steps along the route, which might be a bit of a workout if you're carrying heavy suitcases. It's a very family-friendly hotel. The bedroom has a large bed, and the living room sofa converts into a double bed, comfortably accommodating two adults and two children. Our room was incredibly clean, newly renovated, and surprisingly quiet. Even though the Royal Mile is bustling with street performers and activities, we couldn't hear any noise from our room at all. Having amenities like a washing machine and oven in the room was a huge plus. Just a note: toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers aren't provided as standard. We brought our own dental kit, so we only needed to ask the front desk for slippers. Breakfast is served à la carte; you order what you like, and top-ups are available if you're still hungry. Edinburgh Castle is a mere 5-minute walk to the right from the hotel's entrance, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby – incredibly convenient!

A 10-point hotel Far exceeded expectations I personally think it is the most worthwhile hotel in Edinburgh No one else In terms of hardware, it is magnificent, a castle🏰 In terms of location, the best location. No one else In terms of software. It is far beyond expectations! From the concierge to the front desk, to hskp, to the restaurant, they are very professional and attentive Finally, when I was leaving, the concierge helped me push the suitcase to the train station outside the hotel!!!

The price-performance ratio is not bad, but it is a bit old, but the service is top-notch! When those Edinburgh voco hotels are selling for 1700, I will not hesitate to spend 2100 to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. What kind of bicycle do you need for 2100? This is the Waldorf Astoria hahaha

Apartment was very spacious and clean. Our bed was okay although the pillows could be better. We had a great time preparing our dinners here because many cooking tools are provided. There are two washing tablets for our three-night stay so we did have to get our own at a Sainsbury’s nearby since we did have more clothes to wash. The washer worked fine but the dryer somehow didn’t. We tried to use it three times but the clothes were still wet in the end. We had to hang dry our clothes in the closet after spinning them at a higher RPM, which was fine because they got all dry by the next morning. There’s also an app for the hotel that you can download where you can request services from the front desk, which I thought was a nice touch. Staff was generally friendly and the location of the apartment was close to several restaurants and a grocery store, and it’s not too far from the train station. I’d definitely consider staying here if I ever visit Edinburgh again.

Extremely nice position with affordable prices. Just few minutes walk to the prince street. Also , it’s really easy to remember where the hostel is located without using the google map, just behind the statue of Adam Smith. The staffs are nice, and all is cleaned. The locker is big enough with a table at the top where you can tidy your baggage (don’t forget your belongings put on there). Moreover, the food served is very nice and the live band also. You also have like 10% off on the menu as a guest! Last but not least, just try to join the wts group of the hostel. There are really nice suggestions like site-viewing, restaurant, etc. from other visitors. It really give you lots of nice idea about where to go at Edinburgh if you didn’t plan anything yet.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. When i arrived we were given a noisy connecting room facing the construction site.I could hear people speaking from the next room clearly and they were really noisy as well. The Front office guy manager helped us check-in.Next day there was a very nice lady named Andrrea (sorry if i spelled it wrong)she helped us move to this beautiful room with the view. She was very helpful and always smiling.Breakfast was really nice. But the only thing i am disappointed with is that there were no toothbrush and slippers in the room. The Housekeeping team only cleaned our room but didn’t refill any amenities like water, toilet rolls, coffee, milk and even the hand towel from the bathroom so i had to ask for everything when i came back to my room. Its quite embarrassing for me to ask for these myself tbh.I would love to see Andrrea again when come back.

For those who enjoy a Western-style breakfast, I'd recommend theirs. However, if you lean towards Asian breakfast options, you might want to skip it; after a week or more in the UK (or Edinburgh), you'll likely grow tired of British food anyway. It's best to pre-book breakfast when reserving your room; adding it on the morning of your stay incurs an extra £5 charge. The haggis is worth a try if you're feeling adventurous. The sausages were decent, but the croissants were a bit stale. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the view from the window was quite picturesque. If you book in advance during the off-season, you'll get good value for money.

This was my first time staying at this hotel after reading many reviews, and here are my thoughts: The room was clean and nice, and the location is excellent – right in the city centre. I arrived early, around 12:30 PM, and asked if early check-in was possible (standard check-in is at 3 PM). The receptionist said yes, but only with an additional charge – no complimentary option was offered. This was the first time I’ve ever had to pay for early check-in. Also receptionist mentioned there are charges applicable if I don't check-out at 11am sharp 😞. While the room itself was clean, it was not soundproof. I could hear noise from the corridor, including cleaning activities and other guests closing their doors. There was no kettle in the room and no room service available, which meant I had to go to the ground floor every time I wanted a coffee or tea. My room was on the fifth floor, so this wasn’t very convenient. The bar/restaurant service was extremely slow and had a very laid-back attitude – not ideal if you’re in a hurry or expecting prompt service. Overall, the hotel has potential due to its location and cleanliness, but the lack of basic amenities, noise issues, and poor service were disappointing.

The overall performance of the hotel is a bit over the average level. The most satisfactory point of it is the location. It is very convenient for the guests to wander about the old castle area. They can go to the sightseeing attraction and to the tourist information centre easily. There are also different kinds of restaurants. So people have wider choices to choose their meals.

We traveled during the peak May Day season, and the overall price of hotels and restaurants in the UK is relatively expensive. This hotel is the same price as the one we booked in London, but the service experience and cost performance are much better. Location: It is just across the street from the train station, next to the art center gallery, coffee shop and bar, very close to the old town without climbing. The rooftop bar on the 7th floor has a beautiful night view. Service: There is welcome champagne, many drinks in the minibar are free, the room is very clean, the bathroom is large and the mattress is super comfortable. Breakfast: We paid for breakfast at our own expense, the 20-pound buffet has a lot of choices, champagne, coffee, various fruit juices, and you can also order a hot plate. Compared with fast food, which costs 15 pounds per person, it is still very cost-effective. Highly recommend this hotel.

1. The location of the hotel: Adjacent to the entrance of Holyrood Palace and Calton Hill, go straight for a few hundred meters to the Royal Mile, and walk about one kilometer to Vivalli Station. Basically, most of Edinburgh's attractions and shopping are solved by walking Although I am a little tired, I can experience the local scenery and people in a down-to-earth way. Hotel environment: small and beautiful, the surrounding environment is very quiet, there is an exquisite garden at the back door of the hotel, and there is a very warm reception room on the first floor, most of the time there are no staff there, guests just push the door in and want to lie on the sofa to rest , drink coffee, go to the bathroom, wash and dry clothes, you can do it all by yourself here, feel free to do it without restraint Room facilities: After check-in, the hotel will send me a password. This password is common to open the reception room on the first floor and the room. It is very convenient to enter and exit without having to bring the room card; our room is on the third floor, and it is a bit inconvenient to carry luggage up , thanks to the help of the hotel administrator; the room is newly renovated, everything is clean and tidy, and the room temperature can be adjusted; there is a small kitchen at the entrance, which basically meets the needs of self-cooking, thanks to this kitchen, the problem of eating is solved ( Edinburgh really has too few food options); we are a family of four staying here this time, in addition to the 1.8-meter bed in the room, the sofa in the living room is pulled out to a double bed, which is quite comfortable; the bathroom has a lot of space . The view outside the window is beautiful, quiet and comfortable. Service: Peter, the hotel manager, is very kind and patient in introducing us to the surrounding areas of the hotel. A few tips: 1. There is a small Chinese supermarket (it seems to be called Meiqilin) and a Tasco about 400 meters away from the hotel. It is great and solves a lot of food problems. 2. It’s very cold in Edinburgh in the morning and evening, so remember to bring thick clothes. 3. If you need to go from Edinburgh to London (or if you need to travel around various cities in the UK), it is recommended to buy a train pass in advance (two days in advance on Ctrip, and one day in advance on Taobao) to buy a train pass, which is cheaper than buying a single trip A lot, our family of four traveled from Edinburgh to London, went to Cambridge and Oxford in London, bought a three-day pass, and spent a total of less than 4,000 yuan (one way from Edinburgh to London for four people) It costs 3,000 yuan), and the pass can be used on any operating company’s trains on any train, which is very convenient.

Very good hotel, but the price has been rising since the epidemic. It is a building of great historical value in Edinburgh. It was established in the 17th century and Churchill and Thatcher have stayed there. I give full marks for service facilities. The disadvantage is that the price keeps rising, especially for restaurants.

The location of the B&B is very good, and it is very convenient to go to various attractions. Compared with the hotel, you can have a deeper understanding of Edinburgh life. The interior decoration of the room shows the landlord's care, and all kinds of appliances are also complete. Every detail will feel like home! The landlord sister is super nice, responsive, and responds promptly. She is really hardworking! The accommodation experience is worth the money. I look forward to seeing you next time!

Abit small but great for the location, able to walk to tourist attractions easily. Only concern was that my pyjamas was missing after the house cleaning, they misplaced my pants and I was unable to get it back. There was no compensation or anything done for it. The receptionist just told us sorry that they can't find it in their laundry pile.
