Excellent in every way. Location nearby to eateries & shops & busy shopping street. Delicious Peking duck restaurants nearby too. Walking distance to subway stations. Many famous sites are also nearby & easily accessible by subway or Didi. Housekeeping does a great job everyday. Service Centre sends requested items in minutes. I want to thank especially ANNA from Concierge who helped us with navigation & information. She is warm, friendly & greets us each time we meet. Legendale must keep her. The only thing that can be improved on is the breakfast selection & taste which was not really 5 star. Overall we were very very happy with our stay in the 3 bedroom apartment suite #985.

We recently stayed for 3 days at this hotel as a family with an infant and while the overall stay was pleasant, I feel compelled to share some important points that made our experience fall short of what we expected from a five-star establishment. To begin with, we had booked a Premier Suite, anticipating a top-tier experience. Unfortunately, several issues left us feeling like we were staying in a three-star hotel at best. * Cleanliness was disappointing — the floors were visibly dirty, and when we wiped them with a white towel, it turned dark. Photos attached clearly show the level of cleanliness we encountered. * The room showed noticeable wear and tear, with interior elements feeling aged and in need of refurbishment. Some parts felt like they hadn’t been updated in decades. * On our last night, the bathroom light could not be turned off, which made it very difficult to sleep. With our baby already asleep, we couldn’t call anyone to fix it without disturbing her. * The spinning chair in the room looked stylish but made loud, unpleasant noises, making it impossible to sit and relax in peace. * Several power sockets (about four) were not working, which was frustrating — especially when we tried to make tea or charge devices. We had to use inconveniently placed sockets instead. * A lingering smell of cigarette smoke was present in the room throughout our stay, suggesting the furniture and fabrics have absorbed it over time. * The female sauna was completely non-functional, which was a disappointment. * We consistently pressed the ”Do Not Disturb” button, hoping for privacy, but every time we left the room, it was cleaned despite our request. While it's nice that the room was cleaned, our preference should have been respected. * We also attempted to order food by phone twice, and our orders were never received. Whether this was due to a language barrier or other reasons remains unclear — but it was frustrating nonetheless. Considering that Sofitel is a well-established and globally recognized luxury hotel brand, you would never expect to come across such issues. All of the above certainly will influence our families and our friends future decisions when choosing Sofitel hotels . I want to stress that the stay overall wasn’t terrible — we enjoyed our time together as a family and had some positive moments. However, the above issues significantly detracted from what should have been a premium five-star experience. For the price and rating, we expected more attention to detail and basic functionality.

Staff were caring and just amazing. My flight was delayed by a number of hours and to arrive at the hotel at 04:40am and be greeted with a smiling face and asked if I needed anything was greatly appreciated. The room was fabulous. Bed was super comfortable. Pillows were just right and sheets were divine. Bathroom was well appointed with amenities and spotless. Breakfast was excellent, with options for everyone’s dietary requirements. I don’t care if the carpets need refreshing or the rooms are (apparently) in need of renovation/upgrade. I will remember the great service I received from kind staff. I will most definitely return on my next trip to Beijing! Thank you staff!

Room that I was initially put in was really smoky and the carpet was old and dusty. They moved me into another room that smelled like a hospital filled with antiseptics. Said I’m happy to book a hotel nearby, free upgrade to a suite. The suite is spacious but really inconvenient, no outlet near bed, shower was tiny. I was only staying one night so it was fine. Definitely not going to go back. Staff was friendly and helpful but I would caution booking a room if you are wanting anything but location.

In close proximity with Chong Wen Men station, which helps us to get around Beijing easily. We stayed at Block A (which the receptionist mentioned is the “newer” block) and the view of the tennis court. Room is spacious, and the power socket includes options for those using US plug and USB to power up their devices. It’s nice that they provided 2 pillows of different firmness for us to decide which to use. Buffet breakfast is decent. There’s effort to change some dishes each day. The Xinqiao Sapparo bakery next door could be an alternative for those planning to skip the buffet breakfast or nearby malls like Glory, and SoShow.

I recently stayed at this hotel during my trip to Beijing and was very satisfied with my experience. The location is unbeatable – right in the heart of Zone 1, with easy access to major attractions like Wangfujing, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City. It made sightseeing extremely convenient. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety and was especially worthwhile given the promotional rate during my stay. The room was well-designed and thoughtfully stocked with bottled mineral water and fruits provided daily, which was a nice touch. A highlight of my stay was the adorable delivery robot – a fun and efficient feature that added charm to the experience. There are some areas for improvement in cleanliness. The bathtub had noticeable brown stains, resembling coffee marks, and could use more thorough cleaning. Additionally, the buffet utensils could be better cleaned to enhance the overall dining experience. That aside, I would still highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, value, and thoughtful amenities.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tongpai. Near metro, just across the street. The metro also connects to a shopping center across the hotel. Good location, easy to go anywhere. We didn't take the breakfast but there are some nice shops selling breakfast around the neighbourhood. Connected to shopping center at level 5. Although it was rather cold in April, the room temperature was just right. All basic amenities available, clean and very value for money. A lot of international crowd. Everything was perfect! 👍👍

We were unlucky enough to get a bed in the newly furbished West Wing that was so hard, sleeping on the floor would have been better. We rang the night concierge who basically fobbed us off. My husband had a bad back in the morning and I tried to sleep on the couch. This review would have been way worse had it not been for the wonderful front office staff in the morning who listened to our concerns and upgraded our room.
