CCheng XiaoyiThis is a pretty decent hotel. You can proceed with your booking worry-free. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get.
Service: The front desk was very helpful to get us checked-in early at 1:30pm. The cleaning and restaurant staff were also polite and accommodating. The staff will not pest
you for 5 star reviews before you check-out. My kid left a soft toy behind and the staff was kind enough to contact me and mailed it back home.
Cleanliness: good enough.
Location: Prime location. 5-min walk to line-1 Xiaoshizi station entrace and Liberation Monument. The entrance of the hotel is just next to Westin. It's very easy to hail a cab although there's lots of traffic jam around. If you take the lift to level 1 and exit from the back of the build (reception of other hotels sharing the same building), you can reduce the trip to liberation Monument to 3 min.
Facilities: Room is new and well furnished. There are fully equipped gym and AI-powered laundry/drying machines. There're 8 lifts so the average waiting time is usually around 2~3 min only. The room is quiet enough (I'm a light sleeper). The only noise is the beeping sound made by the smart toilet every time it auto-closes the lid!
Suggestion for improvements:
1. place a bin inside the shower/bath room (bin in the toilet room only)
2. Install a towel hanger in the toilet room for hand-drying towel.
3. Install a marble slab in the shower for guests' own toiletries.
4. Give hand or face towels by default instead of disposable cotton wipes, which create a lot of waste. You can still request to the cleaning ladies and they'll provide those towels.
Pitfalls:
1. Bathroom sink is shallow and easily splashes
2. Bathroom window to the room is too transparent for privacy! (a common impractical 'feature' of new hotels)
2. The lift lobby requires card to tap-out but not tap-in?

GGuest UserThe river view room was absolutely lovely, right above Hongyadong. It was super convenient to get to Jiefangbei, Raffles City, and Kuixinglou. We came back a bit late at noon, but the hotel staff were so patient and kindly extended our check-out time for free. This will definitely be my first choice next time I visit Chongqing!

GGuest UserI want to love this hotel. Unfortunately I had a bad incident that ruin the first day of my holiday in chongqing.
We booked 2 River view rooms for our family for 3 nights as we wanted somewhere special to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. As we were traveling with children, I checked several times with hotel before arriving that I wanted two side by side river rooms and even asked before booking which room type to book to fulfill this criteria. We checked in very late at 2.30am as we came off a light night flight totally exhausted, and could not see anything when we checked in as the view outside the room was dark. We unpacked and went to bed.
Next morning, we woke up and realised that one of the rooms had a giant wall across completely blocking our view. It was unlike the video in trip that showed full length glass windows. One had to climb and stand up onto the sofa to see any view. We were too rushed for other plans so only managed to talk to reception on afternoon of second day and got a river view room late afternoon of second night when we highlighted. Feel that it’s not correct to give us the first night room with the wall completely blocking the view when we had booked a river view. It’s terrible as it ruined our first day at chongqing. Service recovery was not good. We were not given any special apology for staying one night in a hotel room with no view, or for the inconvenience and time wasted in packing and unpacking when we had to change room the next day.

Pros
One of the staff member at reception was very helpful and I am grateful for his good service . The rest of service was very mixed. We asked hotel to help store our ice cream DQ cake as we were too full to finish the whole birthday cake at one sitting. When we got it back from hotel, the whole cake had melted, my daughter was crushed.
Hotel is modern which is great. Location is mixed, it’s on way to hongyadong which is convenient. But hotel entrance is opposite a public toilet and noodle shop. Not sure why but several times there was a big commotion or argument opposite the hotel entrance between groups of people.

It's a must-visit, especially for the ancient North Hot Springs, which is surrounded by lush greenery and a thousand-year-old hot spring temple. It offers a very serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind. The private hot spring on the room's balcony is incredibly comfortable and great for alleviating fatigue. Owen provided exceptional service. The hotel's design is very distinctive, with every room offering views of the Jialing River.

The front desk lady kindly upgraded us to a suite on the 38th floor, room number 03. I truly loved it! This is my second time in Chongqing, and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed at, even better than the Vienna Hotel I stayed in before. The most pleasant surprise was that each room has its own washing machine and a kitchen! Plus, the hotel is very close to Jiefangbei, within walking distance, which is incredibly convenient. Every staff member at the front desk was so enthusiastic. I honestly didn't expect to find such a great hotel for just over 200 yuan!

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful; they asked about my room preferences and assigned me a room I was very happy with. The hotel's design style is very modern and the facilities are complete, including a 24-hour self-service laundry room and a gym, which was super convenient. I was very satisfied with this stay.
The rooftop bar and restaurant have beautiful views, and the revolving restaurant offers panoramic views of the Jiefangbei area from every angle.

GGuest UserAs a loyal supporter of this brand, it's been our top choice for family trips in recent years. This time, revisiting Chongqing during a holiday rush, the hotel became our ultimate retreat. We spent a significant amount of time there with family, which naturally raised our expectations. The hotel's location was fantastic, with unbeatable river views and an excellent panorama.
I still hope the management can focus on basic detail management and improve the quality of in-room amenities. If disposables aren't provided, it should be clearly stated; if they are, their quality should be guaranteed. The disposable slippers tore within half a day, and the quality of the toothbrushes and toothpaste really needs improvement. I hope the management team addresses these details and continues to optimize their products and services. I have full confidence in Ascott and look forward to choosing them again in the future.
An unexpected bonus was the complimentary travel photography session that came with our room booking. Although we only took photos in the room due to time constraints, the photographer was patient and professional, capturing beautiful moments for my family in a short amount of time.
