Great location, near to food places and the canal. The only time it was inconvenient is over the weekends when the close off the roads after 10.30pm till 7am the next morning so taxi or ubers can't drop you off at your hotel lobby, so something to be wary of when checking in or out with huge luggages over the weekend. Nothing to complain about the hotel itself however, will definitely be back!

My group of 7 ladies rented 4 rooms for 4 nights costing a total of $14K at this hotel. The hotel is beautiful, but the staff is horrible, the restaurants are terrible (except for breakfast and Freddy’s Bar) and there were constant problems!!! Our bill had 18 mistakes: the price of each room had multiple mistakes creating an extra 5K added to the total bill; one of the restaurant bills was signed and paid for and then an additional €200 was added to the bill at checkout (without an explanation); each trip scheduled through the concierge was incorrectly charged - always to the benefit of the hotel; the list of incorrect charges goes on and on… We spent 4 hours working with 3 different managers; Roman, Patrick and another manager that’s name started with a “R” to try to fix the billing issues - all were condescending and rude. They agreed all of the bills were incorrect but repeatedly fought to change each charge to the correct amount. I felt like I was speaking to sketchy used car salesmen! The concierge claimed they ordered a private guide and a driver for a day, but the driver and guide never showed up. They found another driver that was waiting for a different hotel guest and had him take our group to our day trip - after we waited for over an hour. The driver was not a guide, didn’t know our arrangements, and was unable to give any information about the area - we were incredibly disappointed! In the end, we overpaid a bit, but we were so tired of being insulted and chose not to waste anymore vacation time. I strongly suggest you never stay at this hotel!

Hotel location was good as it is in the central area to almost all activities that we went. But however, hotel room service did not help us to empty our toilet trash bin every single day despite that we gave tips everyday, so I'm not sure how clean exactly is their room service. Bring extra cash for hotel tax and deposits as we were only told on the 1st night of checking in when the recept call up to our room to ask us to go to the reception to pay for our hotel tax and deposit, where only the deposits will be refunded upon checking out if you did not consume their in-room beverages or destroy their hotel etc. Hotel location is very near to 2 super mart, and also the ******** coffee shop, cafe and restaurants, not very convenient for kids as every where smells of ********. Breakfast was super good spread, large varieties, we love it.

Right next to the subway station, there are trams 4 and 14. We came out of the airport to take the train to the Central Station, and then changed to No. 4 to the hotel. The streets and roads in Amsterdam are not all asphalt roads, many of which are small bricks and have a lot of luggage. You have to choose the side of the subway station, otherwise you will walk too hard. Old hotel, very clean, very warm reception. No breakfast choice. The hotel itself is located just outside the busy central area. Quiet enough and still a walkable distance from Rembrandt's house, the zoo and the night life. We selected a room with a view to the canal and it was actually a nice view from the 4th floor. The room was as to be expected, tiny, with a semi-open tiny wardrobe, a thin mattress and possible the ugliest shower I saw in a while, in a triangular plastic cabin, which contained also the WC and a tiny washbasin at the opposite side of the shower. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the kettle and complimentary coffee and tea. The corridor to the room was unusually bright and clean, contrary to most grotty corridors, especially in budget hotels. The staff was friendly and efficient, although I am not sure it's a good idea having them standing next to an oval table for the checkin and not behind a desk as it's customary. At first sight it looked like it was hotel guests doing their own checkin. The restaurant area and lobby look minimalist but clean. I did not have breakfast so I cannot judge the quality. On the whole a pleasant experience and an interesting location, shame about those mattresses .

Given the reviews, I was not keen to stay here, but thanks to Ajax v Napoli there were no others available. To sum up, this isn't a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is a 3 star hotel. Positives: - Location is superb - Architecturally stunning building - Large room (in my case, at least) - WiFi speeds are good. I was able to do video meetings from my room - Staff were pleasant and friendly Negatives: - Inside, the hotel is dark and in a state of disrepair - The kitchen closes early, and room service appears to not be possible. I was told that I should download Uber Eats if I wanted food after 10pm. - The room is tidy, but basic areas like around the sinks, bath, windows and TV were dirty - There is a smell of sewage that comes from the shower drain - The majority of channels on the TV are unavailable - There is no air conditioning. I had 2 tower fans in my room, and I had to use them both just to stay cool - No help with luggage, not that I couldn't manage myself - You get a bottle of water on the table when you check in. I had some the first night because it was so hot in the room. The second night when I was working late, I turned to open my fresh bottle. Nope! Same half empty bottle, had just been moved back to the table again. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel! Stay somewhere else. A few weeks earlier, I stayed in the Sofitel Legend. THAT is a 5 star hotel.

Excellent location, could walk to every “tourist” place. . Plenty of restaurants and bars right outside the doors! The breakfast at the hotel was great with lots of options and the staff very accommodating! Pastry chef is outstanding..deserves a raise!! Croissants the lightest fluffiest ever! Everything tastes as good as it looks! Front desk staff very nice, Sarah went out of her way to “fix” a minor problem and continued ask if everything was ok each time she saw us. Rooms clean and roomy, beds comfortable would stay again if ever in Amsterdam and recommend this hotel to anyone who asks! Transportation from airport is a little pricey (taxi for 4 ..70-100 euros depending on traffic ) but once you are there no need to use again.

When on a Business trip to Amsterdam I stayed just one night at ”Rosalia's Menagerie Inn Upstairs” and I loved it... It has just 6 individually styled boutique rooms and mine (a King bed double) was comfortable and provided everything I needed for my stay. The owner Rachel Bonnewell was lovely and treated me with warmth and kindness from check-in to check-out, she was the perfect host. I loved the unique and quirky decor and the personally prepared breakfast was delicious and a great start to my day walking Amsterdam. The hotel location was perfect also in Central Amsterdam, I literally walked everywhere during my 2 days in the City. My room was €150 per night with breakfast. The Inn is, as in the name, 'upstairs' and the stairs are typical of old Dutch houses in as much as climbing them is not for anyone who has ill health or any mobility issues... Note, there is no lift and the stairs are narrow, steep and twisty. I will certainly stay again and hope to do so in the Summer of 2024.

Let's start with the positive sides: - central location, low price, free cancellation and they have not taken capra before arrival. Now we start with the negative: - dirty bedroom (picture annex) - very tight stairs (as all the ams structs), but with a heavy bag becomes a problem - room bags, Not very hygienic - change of towels almost ok (only one was clean instead of two) - breakfast starts at 8:30, so if you have some activities to do soon you will not be able to enjoy it, and it is not abundant and not suitable for the vegans - the mirror in the room above the washing machine really too high,I had to put my feet up - the bed can be good for a few days, but it deeps - the rooms are NOT soundless (Maybe you'll get someone who enjoys like we have) - you can't smoke in the room, but there are windows that open and still smoke in the bar so the whole smell is up for the common bathroom we haven't had any problems, The hotel was always clean and closed normally, we never found anyone. Furthermore, the “reception” is a bar/pub that closes soon, so you will not find much ******.

I booked a river view room, the river view is very beautiful, open the window, you will feel the world is very beautiful! This is a small hotel, by the canal, the room area is not big, it is a small sparrow, it has all the internal organs, anyway, the facilities are not new, the toilet is relatively simple, it can only be considered barely acceptable. . The uncle at the front desk was pretty good, and I couldn't see it on the TV. There is nothing else to say.
