Macau Hotels with Balcony

An exceptional location for exploring the Macau Peninsula, with the Ruins of St. Paul's just a short walk away. Super convenient, and the night views are amazing. Staying here lets you experience everyday Macanese life in the morning and evening. From the cars and scooters winding through the narrow alleys to parents dropping off their kids, it offers an authentic old-Macau vibe that's completely different from Cotai. The hotel is on the smaller side, having been recently renovated last year, and is exceptionally clean. The interior decor is also thoughtfully designed with a unique style.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Andaz Hotel this time. The hotel manager, Mr. Hu, was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. All the hotel staff were very friendly, considerate, competent, and polite. There's a happy hour opposite the front desk from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and a small gift is delivered to the room every night. The hotel bathroom is absolutely fantastic, with branded showerheads and toiletries, plus a large bathtub and two showerheads! This stay also included a package for Grand Resort Deck and a MOP 500 dining voucher! It was simply so enjoyable that I didn't want to leave. I will definitely be back.

For our trip to Macau, we opted out of the bustling areas and chose this unique and well-preserved ancient building instead. I heard that a Chinese designer, who also designed Dubai's 7-star Burj Al Arab, was responsible for transforming the entire building into a hotel. The room was very spacious and well-divided, with the sleeping area inside and a separate living area outside, ensuring privacy. There's also a long, narrow balcony where you can enjoy distant sea views and towering buildings! The mattress was super comfortable, leading to a deep sleep, and there was also a vintage rocking chair nearby. I have to highlight the shower; the oversized rain showerhead made for an incredibly comfortable bathing experience! The toiletries were L'Occitane. The restaurant staff, Clariza and another gentleman, were both excellent, enthusiastic, and professional, providing great room service! The hotel is conveniently located opposite the MTR and a bus hub, making it easy to get anywhere in Macau! All in all, staying at the Hotel Fortaleza do Monte was a thoroughly satisfying experience!

The service was very polite. They offer free shuttle buses to Portas do Cerco and New Yaohan. The hotel is a few hundred meters from the Barra Light Rail Station, which is convenient for getting to the airport. No need for a power adapter. The egg tarts were delicious; besides the complimentary ones from the hotel, I bought some every day and packed two boxes to take home when I left. The breakfast isn't on par with five-star hotels in mainland China, but it's comparable to breakfasts in the UK. The dinner chef was excellent, and the ingredients were high-quality; every dish suited my taste. You can watch fireworks from the room. The biggest issue is that while there are windows, they can't be opened. I was surprised to learn this is the hotel where the leaders stayed during Macao's handover.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and the breakfast was decent. The hotel has a Portuguese style, but the decor is a bit outdated. Many people mentioned the worn-out towels, and indeed they were... we wondered if it was to prevent them from being stolen. A downside was the lack of disposable slippers; good thing we brought our own. Also, there's no Wi-Fi in the pool and restaurant areas. Housekeeping only comes if you request it; they didn't clean our room, but they did take out the trash and provide new tissues and toilet paper when asked. On the bright side: you can take the stairs through the pool area to reach the bus stop, and there's a great swimming pool. However, sometimes they bring in what seems like a kindergarten group, which can be noisy and make the pool area a bit chaotic. There were no critical downsides, and I would visit this hotel again. After a few days at the casino, I'd recommend this place for a relaxing break. The sea is within walking distance, not super clean, but good enough for a swim.
