Hotels in Yongdingmen and South Railway Station Area, Beijing

I've stayed at Jintai Home several times before, but this is my first time at the Beijing South Railway Station location, and it's by far the most satisfying experience. The service attitude is excellent, the room is very cozy, and there's plenty of space – not cramped at all. Both beds are 1.2 meters wide, the bathroom has a wet/dry separation, and there's even a portable vanity mirror. And those little cookies in the snack pack are delicious!

Let's start with the positives. The common areas are spacious with a great atmosphere, and there were even some international guests, giving it a very artistic vibe. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and the overall experience was good. I opted for a twin room without a window because I was worried about it being too crowded and noisy, and I was traveling solo on a budget. As soon as I entered the room, I felt incredibly claustrophobic, to the point where it was hard to breathe. I'm not sure if it was the materials or if the formaldehyde hadn't dissipated yet. I felt dizzy and light-headed (my personal experience). Especially, the ladder for my bunk bed wasn't on my side, making it very difficult to climb up. In contrast, the other bed was much more convenient, and it also had more usable space underneath for access. I feel like these two beds offer different experiences and perhaps should be priced differently. However, after turning on the air conditioning and getting used to it for a while, it got much better. My roommate was still moving around, climbing up and down at midnight, but thankfully I had earplugs. Though, I also worried about my own snoring. When traveling and choosing a hostel, mutual understanding and tolerance are key. Finally, I want to commend the front desk staff; the young lady was very enthusiastic. The cleaning auntie was also very diligent and constantly cleaning. From a hygiene perspective, the entire hostel is absolutely excellent.

Service: The front desk staff was very polite and at least helped with luggage, but seemed a bit unfamiliar with procedures, like not knowing the TV channels in the room. Cleanliness: There were some shortcomings in the details, like a lot of visible dust under the mirror and in other obvious spots. Facilities: Quite comfortable. I slept wonderfully, which was great for adjusting to the time difference. There are many restaurants nearby; I had hotpot… The hotel breakfast was also good, with fresh vegetables and a wide variety of teas. I loved it! 😍

This hotel is a 20-minute drive from Beijing South Railway Station. We checked in at the hotel at 12 o'clock in the evening. The room was very small, the bathroom sink was also very small, and the check-in experience was very average. It was about 300 yuan a night, and we were just transitioning, so we couldn't expect too much. The front desk lady was very good and gave us breakfast for the day. We later asked for a few more bottles of bottled water and slippers, and they gave them to us. The breakfast was quite average, but there were also fried egg whites, boiled eggs, porridge, and soy milk, and only the steamed buns were delicious.

The hotel looks nice and the reception area was comfortable with water, tables and seating at disposition. The staff doesn’t speak English (at all) but we had no issue using a translator to communicate and they showed us the way to the room. The major issue was the smell of smoke is the room even though it’s written no smoking (we saw someone smoking inside the elevator). I would recommend you check the “smock treatment” offered by trip.com when booking. The location is nice but everything is 45min or 1h away (the map makes it look closer than it is to the main attractions). But very convenient to go from Daxing airport.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Everything was perfect—from the clean and spacious room to the complete set of toiletries provided. The location is a major plus. It was very easy to find, and having direct access to the subway made traveling around so convenient. Even though it is slightly away from the city center, the subway makes everywhere feel close by. Plus, there are supermarkets and plenty of restaurants right around the corner. Highly recommended for the affordable price and the comfort you get! ☺️👍

Our entire stay was made exceptional by Xiaoyang from room 609 and Xiaoshi from room 612. Their service was comprehensive and attentive. During check-in, they proactively checked our travel needs and, noticing we were traveling with an elderly person, specifically arranged a lower-floor room for us. When we asked about dining options and scenic routes, they provided clear and organized information, even hand-writing simple guide cards. They offered to help with our heavy luggage without us even asking, and when a room facility malfunctioned, they immediately coordinated repairs with a very quick response time. They spoke softly and patiently, always with a smile. Their professionalism was outstanding; they were genuinely caring and not at all rigid, fully considering guests' comfort. The experience was truly excellent!

My stay at Mercure Beijing South Station was absolutely fantastic! I was incredibly satisfied with the overall service, environment, and dining experience. It's definitely a hidden gem near Beijing South Station, offering both great value for money and excellent service quality. The hotel's location is truly unbeatable. It's so close to Beijing South Station that you can walk there, which is incredibly convenient for travelers catching high-speed trains or transferring – it saves so much time and hassle. The front desk staff were gentle yet professional. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth, with no delays. They patiently and meticulously answered all my questions, providing attentive service that made the entire experience comfortable. The guest rooms were exceptionally clean and tidy, with excellent ventilation and natural light. The overall environment was quiet and peaceful, with excellent soundproofing. The bedding was soft, clean, and fluffy, and the mattress was just right – so relaxing to lie on. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area and no unpleasant odors. The toiletries were comprehensive and effective, and the facilities were well-maintained, contributing to a high-quality living experience. I have to specifically praise the hotel's breakfast buffet! The variety was truly extensive and complete, with a great mix of Chinese and Western options, and a good balance of meat and vegetables – so many choices! There were Chinese hot dishes, various congees, steamed buns, noodles, cold appetizers, and a full array of Western bread, cakes, toast, salads, and drinks. The biggest bonus was the live noodle station, where fresh noodles and wontons were made on the spot. The broth was savory and delicious, with rich toppings and an authentic taste. Ingredients were replenished fresh daily, and restocking was quick, so there were never any empty platters. The fruits were fresh and juicy, and the desserts had a delicate texture. The overall taste was light and palatable, not greasy. The restaurant environment was clean and bright, and tables were cleared promptly, making for a very comfortable dining experience. Overall, I could clearly feel the standardized service and meticulous attention to detail from both the HUAZHU and Mercure brands. With its attentive service, clean environment, and consistent dining quality, this hotel is undoubtedly the top choice in the South Station area, whether for business trips, leisure travel, or high-speed rail transfers. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Beijing!

The room was fantastic! I initially worried that a skylight or windowless room might feel stuffy, but that wasn't an issue at all. From every aspect, I was really happy with the room this stay. It was clean and tidy, the air conditioning cooled down quickly, and the bathroom was great too. The only minor point is that there were some soundproofing issues. Maybe I just had bad luck and ended up with some students partying in nearby rooms. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with both the room and the service from the front desk staff. Aside from the soundproofing, I hope the hotel can improve its management and communicate more with guests who make noise during quiet hours.
