Hotels in Houhai Area, Beijing

The hotel is located in Qianjing Hutong, offering easy access to Houhai and close proximity to the subway station. We received a complimentary upgrade to a larger room, which was exquisite and clean, with excellent service. The breakfast selection was good, and every hotel staff member was very friendly. The kids absolutely loved the hotel's cat and played with her every day, making it perfect for families with children. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Beijing. PS: This hotel is the former residence of General Zhaohui, a high-ranking official during the Qianlong era, and holds significant historical importance.

This is a great hotel with a very personal touch and excellent service. I had booked a 'cozy king room,' but when I arrived, the previous guest hadn't checked out yet. The front desk immediately upgraded me to their courtyard room and was incredibly helpful with storing my luggage. For anyone in need of a good place, you can book with confidence!

What a pleasant surprise, this courtyard hotel! At night, the red lanterns illuminate the wooden beams, creating a fantastic ambiance in the traditional Chinese courtyard with stunning views. The entire room is equipped with Xiaodu smart voice control, allowing you to turn lights on/off and play music with just a voice command – the level of smart tech far exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, tidy, cozy, and comfortable. Overall, the experience completely surpassed what I anticipated. It's definitely worth coming back to, and this will be my first choice for future stays!

The Courtyard Hotel in Beijing really captures the essence of a traditional Chinese courtyard house, with its blue brick courtyard exuding ancient charm. The bedding throughout the room is soft and comfortable, everything is clean, and the space is quite generous. The front desk staff are attentive and very welcoming. Its proximity to Nanluoguxiang and the Forbidden City makes it super convenient for getting around. The hotel offers a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area, making it a perfect place to stay when visiting Beijing.

The front desk service was excellent. There's a Wumart supermarket downstairs, which is super convenient for shopping. The facilities are complete, and it's very clean. A decent choice, quite good!

The service was great, and the room was excellent! They even gave me a free upgrade. The projector in the room has a Tencent membership already set up, and the smart lock works with your phone's Bluetooth. It's a really smart room; there's even a Xiao Ai speaker to control the smart home devices. Plus, the front desk offers free umbrella rentals, and the room has a dryer for clothes, which is a very thoughtful touch. The location is good too, very close to the subway station, making it easy to get around. It's also quiet, being located inside a residential complex.

Good location, very nice staff, and a comfortable hotel room for the price. My original room had a stale cigarette smell, but staff changed my room very quickly without any issues. The staff were extremely helpful and answered all my questions using a translator app and WeChat. As a first-time foreign visitor to Beijing, I really appreciated their patience and friendliness. Housekeeping replaced towels daily and provided new water bottles. Big thanks to all the staff for the great service 👏🏻👏🏻 The hotel is near Jishuitan Station (Lines 2 and 19), which made getting around easy. There’s also a bus stop right in front of the subway station. Xihai Lake is right behind the hotel and accessible through the back door — a calm and beautiful area to walk around and one of the highlights of my stay. Hutongs and the Shichahai scenic area are within walking distance. Food options are available on the next street, including a great Muslim restaurant with breakfast options. I also tried zha jiang mian at the restaurant right next door. A few things to note: food smells from the restaurant sometimes reached the lobby or slightly into the room. I also occasionally smelled cigarette smoke in the hallway near other rooms. The shower temperature control was a bit sensitive, and the showerhead leaked slightly from the side, but everything still worked fine overall. The room walls also had some visible creasing in the wallpaper, though there were no humidity issues on the wall.

The hygiene was impeccable, and the service attitude was excellent. We booked a twin room and traveled with our child. The cleaning staff thoughtfully provided two extra pairs of slippers, showing great warmth and attentiveness. It's also very close to the subway station, definitely recommended!

The hotel is tucked away in a small hutong right next to Nanluoguxiang, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city. It's an excellent choice if you're interested in exploring Beijing's hutongs, as it's very close to Dongmianhua Hutong, Yur Hutong, and Maor Hutong. Qi Baishi's former residence, Mao Dun's former residence, and Wanrong's former residence (though you can only view it from outside) are all within walking distance, as is the Penghao Theatre. The hotel's breakfast is decent, offering most of what you'd typically want. I booked a ground-floor room with a small courtyard, which I imagine would be lovely in autumn! Finally, a special shout-out to the front desk staff; everyone I encountered was warm, friendly, and always ready to help with any questions or requests. This is definitely a hotel I'd choose again on my next trip to Beijing.

Staying in a traditional courtyard house is a must when in Beijing! This place is super easy to find, about 200 meters from the subway exit, tucked away in a charming hutong. The courtyard itself is huge, perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea and a chat. You can even catch the sunset right from your room in the evenings, which is just lovely. The room layout is well-designed, and the bed is large and incredibly comfortable. It was so quiet at night that I slept like a baby. Right across from the hotel, there's a fantastic local BBQ joint called Tong Ye's Old Beijing Zizi Roast Meat. You can book a table online through the hotel and just head over when your turn is near – it's absolutely brilliant! If you turn right out of the hotel and walk for about ten minutes, you'll hit Gulou Street, which is packed with food and drink options. It's really convenient for getting around. I've already recommended it to several friends and can't wait to go back!
