Hotels near Monument to Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Guangzhou

Pros: location was great, about 10-15 mins walk to Beijing Pedestrian Street for shopping. The popular Guangzhou Restaurant chain has a location in the building next door on the 5th floor. Hotel breakfast was decent, with a combination of Chinese and some western dishes. Hotel room was clean and spacious. Cons: the sink in the hotel room leaked water all over the floor so the hotel moved us to another room on the same floor. We stayed for 2 nights - someone rang our doorbell at around 11+pm the first night, and no one responded when we asked. On the second night, someone rang our doorbell about 3 times, around 11+pm, 12+am and 4/5am, which was disconcerting and a major disturbance when we were trying to sleep. We provided feedback to the hotel when we checked out, hopefully the hotel will enhance the hotel security.

Staff name 小王 小吉 中青秋果酒店 The best experience among hotels we been staying in China . The hotel environment are very nice and comfortable . Facilities are also very complete such as free laundry service . And I would like to special thanks to the hotel staff 小王 和 小吉， they’re so helpful with very nice attitude , in fact I lost my passport and serverals documents needed and advise needed , they provide us very useful help on this , really appreciate on this . Value for price are above 90% , 3star hotel yet you get 5 star services.

I have stayed here over five times and will keep staying at this fantastic hotel whenever I am in Guangzhou. It's highly recommended.

The overall environment is very good. The room is very large and spacious. The view outside the window is an old residential building. It looks very special. There are also many delicious foods near the hotel. It is very convenient to order takeout. The subway station is also nearby. It is very convenient. However, the hygiene needs to pay a little attention to the details. There is a pool of red on the floor of the toilet and bathroom. I can't see it being brushed off. There is no way. I was also scared when I saw a pool of red; I thought something happened 🔪

Mr. Zero Zhang from the concierge is very friendly and helpful. When asked him for the nearby attractions and restaurants, he advised us patiently. The location of the hotel is nearer to the East Gate of Yue Xiu Park, where we spotted this bookstore with Zen feel. However, it took about 15 min walk to the nearer mrt station. I would suggest the front desk to have a clearer queuing line for check in. There is one counter stated on the floor carpet for membership, so I queued at the next counter where the staff was serving a customer in front of me. Another counter was also busy at that time. As it was slightly further, so I thought it meant for checking out. While I was waiting, I noticed guest who came in later than me was being served at this counter. May be the hotel can arrange someone at the check-in counter to advise the guest when checking in. (This is the other hotel which I visited have done so.)

Fabulous historic hotel in the center of the beautiful YueXiu district. Rooms are huge, staff is efficient, speaks English, and very polite. Rooms have high ceilings, huge windows and very well decorated in a classic but super comfortable classical China style. Yuexiu Park metro station is 5 min walk, and next door is a Starbucks and McDonalds. Across the street is a new mall with lots of Chinese restaurants. It’s also about a 10 minute walk from Guangzhou’s famous clothing wholesale markets. Hotel lobby is huge and totally fabulous! Staying here makes you feel like you are living a life of luxury, but still at a reasonable price. One thing I would tell the staff to improve : showers need to be scrubbed better because any mold in the shower is unacceptable, even a little. This is a common problem in China, different standards than western cultures I guess. Otherwise, this is the place to stay. Standard Rooms here are a lot larger than at the China Hotel next door, and usually rooms rates for both properties are similar. Why not stay at Dong Fang and get a nicer room for the same price ?

Upon arrival at the hotel after the check in time of 2:00pm, we were told that the rooms were not yet cleaned but we were given keys to the rooms. We would expect to get into cleaned rooms without any hassle for a hotel of this standing. It was quite horrifying to go into a room that is not cleaned. One of the rooms had a heavy cigarette smell and that needs to be changed. We have reserved 3 rooms but each room is a a different floor and our key card cannot access to other floors due to security reasons. The room is ok but there is a stain on the chair and some cigarette smell. The bed is also quite firm which may not suit everyone. The hotel should consider enforcing a check out time that would enable them to turn around the rooms in a timely manner.

Highly recommended ! The hotel location is very convenient (~3min walk from Sun Yat Sen Metro station) - from Airport to hotel and hotel to to various attraction places around Guangzhou. The staff are super helpful and facilities provided meet our expectations. Our family of 4 from Malaysia have thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days stay here in Guangzhou.

Great hotel, really good quality price ratio. Very conveniently located close to Yuexiu Park and the metro station for Line 2. Close to Guangzhou Train Station South. Great buffet breakfast at the Veranda Cafe. And if you're in the mood for fast food there is a Burger King, Starbucks and a Domino's in the same block. I will book this hotel again if I'm back on GZ.

The room is well design and the air conditioning was very effective. Level 30 has got a laundry machine and entirely free. The Uncle doing the area cleaning on level 30 upstairs even helped me do a changeover from washing machine to air dryer while I went down for a bowl of 云吞面. My room was kept really clean daily. The housekeeping lady did a great job in room 1815. Pity that i cannot remember her name. The reception was helpful and one of them 梁小姐 look after me well. Will certainly recommend to anyone if the standards can be maintained.
