The guesthouse is located on Hengshan Island, and you can drive directly onto the island. You need to change into slippers upon entering, and the hygiene is excellent. The rooms have a Japanese style, and stepping inside is breathtaking—the huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlook a terrace facing the mountains and sea, offering panoramic views of sunrises, sunsets, and a sky full of stars—simply romantic! The private hot spring bath is also very comfortable.
The rooms are well-heated, and the butler service is exceptionally attentive, promptly resolving any issues and even enthusiastically recommending renting tricycles on the island, which would be great fun for families with children.
It's a perfect place to relax and unwind; I'd definitely come back again.

The hotel environment is excellent, and the facilities are comprehensive. The room is clean, tidy, and very spacious. I particularly enjoyed the view outside the window and the lighting in the room. It's also very soundproof, allowing for complete relaxation without any disturbances.
The hotel service is great; if you need anything, just contact customer service, and they'll take care of it.
Wangyan Hot Spring is conveniently located just 150m away, within walking distance. You can easily spend a whole afternoon relaxing there. The hot spring usually has 10-15 pools open, which is more than enough, and it's equipped with spa services, a children's play area, a dining bar, and more, offering great privacy.
The hotel breakfast is very rich, with a full selection of Western options like bread, jams, and pastries, as well as Chinese dishes like wontons, knife-cut noodles, and tofu pudding. Dining with the window view was a very pleasant experience.

Pros: Heartwarming Service, Extra Points for Pet-Friendliness
I must particularly praise the hotel's service. From check-in to check-out, the staff were consistently enthusiastic and responded to requests promptly. What's especially noteworthy is how friendly the staff were towards pets, proactively addressing the needs of guests traveling with animals. This was the most satisfying aspect of my stay.
Cons: Details Need Improvement, Experience Compromised
1. **Hardware Shortcomings:** The soundproofing isn't very good. I could easily hear doors closing in the hallway at night, which affected my sleep quality.
2. **Limited Dining Options for Pets:** Guests with pets are restricted to only a few tables near the front desk for dining, lacking a sense of exclusivity.
3. **Flawed Breakfast Registration Process:** There was no one at the restaurant entrance to check guests in. An auntie suddenly approached me to ask for my room number while I was getting food. After I had settled down with my food, I went back into the restaurant for a drink and was asked again. The process is redundant and lacks proper standardization.
4. **Pet-Friendliness is Superficial:** Although pets are allowed and the staff are enthusiastic, designating only the area near the front desk for pet dining falls short of genuine ”pet-friendliness.”
Overall Impression
The professionalism of the service team and their pet-friendly attitude are commendable. However, the shortcomings in hardware facilities and service details are quite prominent. If the soundproofing could be improved, and especially if the pet dining area planning could be optimized and service procedures standardized, the overall experience would be significantly enhanced.

Guest UserSuzhou Xishan Xixili Hotel is truly amazing! The environment is serene and elegant, with breathtaking scenery. You can see the beautiful Taihu Lake right from your window, and in the evening, you can enjoy a stunning sunset directly from the hotel – the ambiance is absolutely perfect. The service is also incredibly thoughtful and attentive; the staff, both the ladies and the gentlemen, are warm, friendly, and always smiling, which made us feel so welcome. They even prepared a thoughtful souvenir for us when we left, showing great attention to detail. We had a comfortable stay and a wonderful trip; everyone was very satisfied. Highly recommend!

Guest UserBanyan Tree, as always, is wonderfully secluded and comfortable!
The butler, a lovely lady, upgraded our room again. And we even ran into Alice Xiaoxiao, the butler who assisted us during our stay last year – it was great to see her again! She proactively reached out before check-in to ask about our needs and was incredibly responsive to all our requests. The concierge service upon arrival was also very thoughtful.
The courtyards, lush greenery, and water features are beautifully designed, offering a new picturesque view at every turn. The views from our room were truly refreshing and invigorating! Kids' toiletries were fully stocked, and the complimentary soft drinks were of good quality, not just an afterthought. The hotel also offers free activities like Baduanjin (a traditional Chinese exercise), cocktail making, and night runs!
Overall, a very satisfying stay! Excellent value for money!
**Dining:** The hotel's Baiyun Restaurant is also fantastic. Even though dinner was a set menu from a group deal, every dish was surprisingly delicious! It's a perfect alternative to the Rongsheng Restaurant next door, where you often have to queue for two hours if you don't want to wait. They've changed breakfast to a mostly buffet style, which can sometimes mean colder food with a less-than-ideal texture. However, they still offer à la carte service upon request, which is great! And the champagne was delicious!
**Activities:** This trip, we came specifically to climb Lion Mountain, and we successfully reached the summit – the entire scenic area is very thoughtfully developed! Safety measures are also very well implemented! Whether looking out from the mountain or gazing at it from the hotel, it's a view within a view – perfect for photos! There are several well-designed buildings nearby, like museums and science centers, all within walking distance. The hotel key card provides direct access to Lion Mountain Park, and in the evening, they even offer transportation for a golf course tour. The park has added more activities since last year, including a mini-train, cycling, and boating. This year, we even tried kayaking – so much fun! We'll definitely be back next year!
Our sincere thanks to Alice Xiaoxiao, our butler, who made our first stay enjoyable and our second even more comfortable. Also, a big shout-out to the handsome concierge who helped with our luggage! The auntie providing turn-down service gave our child small gifts and drinks, and the three lovely ladies at the bar patiently taught us cocktail making… All the hotel staff made us feel so warm and welcome.
Looking forward to our next stay!

Andy
This hotel is perfectly situated right by Lake Taihu. We'd contacted them beforehand, so check-in was super smooth upon arrival. The front desk staff were polite and friendly. Our room on the 11th floor directly overlooked Lake Taihu, offering a truly beautiful view. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, bright, and spotless. The bathroom was particularly great for families, with a separate shower and tub – perfect for anyone who loves a good soak to de-stress.
The hotel's 2nd floor boasts excellent fitness facilities, including a swimming pool and gym. The pool was very clean, and the water temperature and hygiene were reliable. There's also a LEGO playroom on the 2nd floor where kids can play freely or build with LEGOs, accompanied by family. Sample LEGO models are displayed on the tables, allowing children to follow along and discover the fun of LEGO building.
Breakfast hours are very convenient, running from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. This extended window is ideal for families with children or seniors, allowing everyone to sleep in and still enjoy a leisurely meal. The breakfast spread was extensive and varied, with both Western and Chinese options to suit all tastes.
Overall, the hotel offers a luxurious, elegant, and comfortable environment, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing weekend getaway.

This was a truly amazing trip. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain in the Piaomiao Peak scenic area, with a trail leading directly to the summit. The overall atmosphere was very quiet, and the environment and facilities were excellent. Even if you don't go to the scenic area, you can find a secluded spot in the resort to spend a relaxing afternoon. The service was also very attentive, with dedicated customer service staff who were easy to contact at any time. They even upgraded us to a suite—lucky us!

Posted on Nov 30, 2025|Themed Room (Double Bed)
dyhxThe hotel has its own onsen area that's open to non-hotel guests. So the entrance starts with the shoe cabinets before reaching the front desk that serves both onsen day-use guests and hotel guests.
The Japanese themed room was luxurious. Very clean and impeccably maintained, good sound proofing I could hear a pin drop in the room. Double basins, Dyson hair dryer, bidet toilet bowl, standing shower and a huge zen sofa couch area by the window, complete with tea and chess set. Pity there's not much of a view out there. There's also no phone here, just a speaker by the bedside table or one can use WeChat to communicate with the front desk and of course robot deliveries.
Bed and pillow was too soft for my liking. Service is excellent and they even provide turn down service. I left the room for onsen and came back to a room where the curtains are drawn, a plate of fruits on the table, floor towel laid out in the shower area with the bath towel, originally under the basin, now hung on the door of the shower.
The stay package came with an Afternoon Tea set of fruits, desserts and crackers. The cheesecakes were meh but the pineapple tart made up for it. Fruits were fresh and yums.
In-house guests were given unlimited access to the Onsen and I took my time to enjoy it fully. It's a full Jap style onsen, meaning going fully naked. A rather small onsen with just 3 pools but the outdoor one was the best, soaking in 43 degrees pool in the cold. There's a chill out area outside including a lounge, meditation room and a movie-cum-reading room (what an irony though). They also have private onsen rooms for rent at additional costs.
Leisurely breakfast the next morning at 930am. Yes, I had to choose a specific hour to be at breakfast as it's a Jap bento set with a partial buffet (of noodles and porridge). Not outstanding for me.
But otherwise, it was 5* experience and I recommend this to anyone planning to come to Taicang to experience the onsen.

AichiyudemaosangThe overall stay experience of ”white time” in Xishan, Suzhou is great! The homestay is built near Taihu Lake, and the window is open to the lake view. The sunrise on the lake in the early morning is particularly moving. The public area is very rich in facilities, swimming pools, KTV, mahjong, billiards are all available. It is just right for friends to build a group to play. The whole house is carefully maintained and the room facilities are brand new and easy to use. The boss is easy-going and enthusiastic, and can help solve problems in time. You can watch the lake quietly empty, or you can gather and entertain lively, come to Xishan for a holiday, it is worth staying.

After much searching on various platforms, this hotel always stuck in my mind, and I finally made it here just before the New Year ended, fulfilling that long-held wish.
Its charm is truly beyond words; I just felt pure joy in every way. This place was designed personally by the owner. The serene elegance of a Japanese garden is present in every plant and tree, while the relaxed comfort of a Chinese tea house lets you set aside all your worldly worries. All amenities for food, drink, and entertainment are available: soak in a hot spring to warm up, or sing karaoke to your heart's content. It’s perfect whether you're looking for some peace and quiet alone or gathering friends for a company team-building event.
What truly touched me were the wonderful ladies who assist guests. They are genuinely warm and hospitable locals, and their caring greetings and farewells, from my arrival to my departure, left a deep impression on me.
And of course, it's absolutely fantastic for photos.
I sincerely recommend everyone come and experience this place.
