"The inn's location is fantastic, directly across from the Lion Grove Garden, and very close to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, making sightseeing incredibly convenient! I had originally booked the smallest room in the inn. When I arrived, I asked the owner if a free upgrade was possible, as many guests had mentioned being upgraded. Without a second thought, the owner immediately upgraded me to the largest room—the service was truly exceptional! The room decor was beautiful, especially the large bed, which perfectly embodies classical Chinese aesthetics. There was also a tatami tea table and a small arhat bed. The front desk even provides a sewing kit for mending clothes, all of which speaks volumes about the owner's excellent service. I'm definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Suzhou."

"This weekend, I chose a guesthouse near Pingjiang Mansion in Suzhou. The location was absolutely fantastic, right by historical sites like Pingjiang Road, the Humble Administrator's Garden, and Lion Grove Garden. After parking and checking in, we could explore on foot. It was so convenient to return to the hotel for a rest during the hot midday. In the evening, we took a stroll along the riverside path at Dongyuan, enjoying the cool breeze, and then returned to the lively, bustling atmosphere of Pingjiang Road cultural street. It felt like stepping back in time, very interesting. The owner and staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They had already turned on the air conditioning before we arrived and personally guided us to parking. Their attention to detail made us feel right at home. The courtyard is also beautifully decorated with a charming Jiangnan style."

Shantang Mansion is a unique cultural-themed hotel that incorporates scholarly elements based on the original Ming and Qing guild hall building - Gangzhou Guild Hall. "During my recent trip to Suzhou, I had the pleasure of staying at 'Shantang Shuxiang Residence'. It's a tranquil oasis tucked away from the bustling city; just ten steps out, you're amidst the lively streets, yet within the hotel's courtyard, a sense of peace envelops you. I distinctly recall a sweltering day with heavy traffic, but thankfully, a rickshaw from the street corner whisked us through the alleyways with refreshing speed.
The hotel's garden isn't large, and our room was in a charming two-story wooden building. The elegant room was spacious and tidy. I particularly appreciated the firm bed, which allowed for a comfortable night's sleep without any back pain. All the toiletries were Bvlgari, and there were even books on the desk for a quiet read.
Before check-in, I added the butler on WeChat, who arranged a rickshaw to pick us up and even provided fresh fruit and afternoon tea. Later, when the AC in our initial room started dripping, they promptly moved us to another room without any fuss. The front desk staff were warm and greeted us every time we entered or left. What touched me most was during breakfast, my child accidentally threw away their retainer with some waste paper, and the restaurant auntie, without hesitation, sifted through the trash to find it for us – a special thank you to her.
Though the breakfast was simple, it was well-balanced and satisfying. The chicken noodle soup was excellent; my son even had two bowls. Since the hotel is located within a scenic area, there are plenty of eateries and snacks everywhere. This place perfectly blends the convenience of city life with the elegance of a garden, making it a top choice for a visit to Suzhou."

"Our stay at Sunlight B&B, tucked away in a small alley, was absolutely perfect! The location is the biggest highlight – hidden right next to Pingjiang Road, it offers a peaceful retreat while being super central. Step out and you're right on the old street, with Dumb Fried Buns and all the major gardens within walking distance. The entire place was spotless, and the decor had a lovely Suzhou aesthetic, perfect for photos. Toiletries and disposables were all thoughtfully provided.
We brought our 20+ kg Border Collie, and the B&B was incredibly pet-friendly with no extra charges. The host even gave us tips on pet-friendly places to visit nearby. Whenever we had questions about parking or getting around, the host patiently helped us and shared tons of hidden local food recommendations. The overall atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, the bed was soft and comfortable, and the value for money was exceptional. It's definitely our top choice for a trip to Suzhou, and I've already recommended it to friends!"

We had a wonderful Chinese New Year holiday at this hotel. The decorations were perfect for taking photos, and the service was thoughtful and warm. The security guard at the entrance even kindly told us about the shuttle bus to the ancient town and gave lollipops to the kids! The lantern show at Daguan Garden was absolutely stunning at night. Since there weren't many people, the kids had a blast running around the corridors. The complimentary travel photoshoot was great value for money, though posed shots aren't really suitable for young children, especially with two of them – props to the photographer for his patience! 😂 The Chinese New Year activities in the lobby were very entertaining. The indoor and outdoor kids' play areas, though not huge, kept the little ones occupied for a while. The heated pool's water was a bit cool, which could be improved. Overall, it's a great resort for families with both elderly parents and young children, and I noticed a surprisingly high number of seniors among the guests! 😝

Right downstairs, you'll find the lakeside scenic walking path, perfect for morning runs or post-dinner strolls with expansive views. The hotel also offers its own parking area, which is a great convenience for those driving. The surrounding commercial area is well-developed, with a wide variety of dining and entertainment options. Inside, the hotel offers a tranquil environment, shielding guests from street noise. This perfect balance of convenience and peaceful living makes its location irreplaceable, whether you're staying for a short trip or a longer visit. Highly recommended! The hotel is located on Pingjiang Road, making it very convenient to visit museums and gardens. It's also very close to the subway station. Stepping out, you're right on a lively street, perfect for shopping and sightseeing. The hotel breakfast was also quite substantial. This hotel is definitely worth recommending.

Anonymous UserWe stayed in the Yingjie Building. It's newly renovated, and the hardware is excellent. The power outlets are convenient, the lighting design is user-friendly, the showerhead is incredibly comfortable, and the view outside the window is beautiful. It's a historic hotel, and visiting and listening to the explanations was very interesting. The hotel also has a takeaway deli. At 9 AM, we saw many locals buying food, so we bought some to take back as well. The taste was super good, and it was very affordable.
The only thing unsatisfactory about this hotel is probably the service. It feels like whenever you need service, you can't find anyone. When we arrived, we saw a sign for the Xiangqu Building lobby. We weren't sure if the Yingjie Building had a separate lobby and wanted to ask, but there was no one at the lobby entrance, so we had to get out of the car and go in to ask ourselves. Is this a five-star hotel? No doorman service? After checking in, a young man did drive us in a golf cart, but he was expressionless throughout, didn't offer to help with luggage, didn't press the elevator button, just followed us – completely untrained, it seemed. Then, at checkout, there was no one at the Yingjie Building front desk, so we had to go to the Xiangqu Building to check out. The staff there said the person from Yingjie might have gone to assist other guests, and that the same front desk person also drives guests in the golf cart. Also, one evening I called the front desk for help with something and scheduled a time for the next morning, but no one followed up the next day, so I had to go sort it out myself.
The hotel provided a 500-100 coupon for the SOO HE restaurant, which was too much for two people to use. On a side note, this restaurant also has no service but charges a 15% service fee. I'd recommend eating out; there are excellent Suzhou noodle shops and restaurants right outside the hotel.

John SoCame to Suzhou for Zhou Shen's concert. The hotel is in the city center, right next to Suzhou Museum and Humble Administrator's Garden, making it super convenient for getting around. There are lots of restaurants nearby and 24-hour supermarkets. Guests also get discounts on tickets to attractions. The room was clean, and the front desk staff were really friendly and helpful.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine warmth, professionalism, and attention to every detail. The entire team went far beyond what anyone could reasonably expect from a hotel staff.
A very special mention must go to Kong Chengjie, whose help was simply extraordinary. I had accidentally dropped my phone into a river and had almost given up any hope of finding it. Kong Chengjie meticulously reconstructed all of our movements and the places we had visited, carefully working out where the phone might have been lost. Thanks to his incredible determination, patience, and attention to detail, he actually managed to recover my phone from the river.
This was far more than excellent customer service — it was an extraordinary act of dedication and genuine care that I will never forget.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The facilities and overall experience are excellent, but it is the people who truly make this place exceptional. My deepest thanks to the entire team, and especially to Kong Chengjie, for turning a potentially disastrous situation into an unforgettable example of outstanding hospitality.
Without hesitation, one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Highly recommended! Btw: I have extended my Booking for 4 days in this hotel!

This guesthouse is nestled in a bustling commercial street, yet offers a unique sense of tranquility. The second floor is a pleasant surprise, situated right in the heart of the Pingjiang Road core business district. It allows guests to easily enjoy the fun of exploring, shopping, and taking photos nearby, while also being able to retreat to peace and quiet at any time. Choosing to stay here was definitely a wise decision. The guesthouse staff provided meticulous and thoughtful service, arranging the best possible room type for us. The hygiene was good, and all the soft and hardware facilities were well-equipped.
