"Choosing the right hotel for a trip to Suzhou is so important! Andu is tucked away in the heart of the old city of Gusu, super close to Shantang Street and Guanqian Street on foot, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. The location is great, and the service is attentive. The lobby is elegant and stylish, and the rooms have excellent natural light; you can open the window and feel the vibrant atmosphere of the old city. The bedding is so comfortable that I had a wonderful night's sleep. The front desk proactively provided travel tips, and the complimentary pick-up service was incredibly thoughtful. The public area's book bar is fantastic for photos, and it's both clean and reassuring. You can relax and unwind, or easily check out the local attractions. This is a must-stay when visiting Suzhou!"

"Choosing this hotel for my Suzhou trip was absolutely the right decision! The location is perfect, just a few minutes' walk from Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, so you can easily explore and eat without needing a taxi. Step outside, and you're right in the heart of local life. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, so I slept very soundly at night. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, check-in was quick, and they thoughtfully recommended local delicacies and sightseeing routes. There's a fantastic selection of food and drinks nearby, with places like Yaba Shengjian and Shuangta Market just around the corner – it’s ideal for anyone visiting Suzhou! Great value for money, I’ll definitely stay here again next time. Highly recommend!"

"The room was spacious and quiet. The hotel service was incredibly thoughtful; they upgraded my room and even prepared a small Suzhou specialty gift when I checked out. The breakfast selection was also quite extensive. This time, I came to Suzhou's Xishan and Dongshan islands for the weekend to see the seagulls and randomly picked this hotel online. I'm very satisfied and will definitely stay here again next time I visit Suzhou."

The owner's design perfectly blends ancient charm with modern comfort; every single corner is a picturesque delight, offering endless photo opportunities. What truly touched my heart was the proprietress's exceptional kindness. She welcomed us with refreshing watermelon and snacks right when we arrived, and even had more thoughtfully prepared for us after a long day of exploring. The beautifully designed courtyard, complete with fish, turtles, and a swimming pool, adds so much character. It genuinely offers a unique and enchanting take on the classic beauty of a Jiangnan water town.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at Wenlv Gusu Yard Donghuali. It’s more of a charming 民宿 than a traditional hotel, and that’s exactly what makes the experience so special. The service was exceptional. We had very heavy luggages, and the staff immediately offered to help us carry them up the stairs to our rooms. If you order food delivery, the staff will also kindly bring it straight to your room, and they were consistently helpful with any of our requests. They also prepare a healthy and delicious breakfast every morning, which was a lovely way to start the day. The location can be a little inconvenient at first as the 民宿 is tucked deep inside a quiet lane, but once you get oriented, you’ll find that it is actually very close to many popular attractions. We appreciated the balance - peaceful surroundings while still being within walking distance of key sights. Our room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with beautiful views of the courtyard. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.

GGuest UserGenerally a good hotel and had a good location for my trip specifically, but is about 20-30mins away from most attractions in Suzhou. Metro is relatively close by (~8 min walk). The breakfast is fantastic, mainly Chinese breakfast but had some Western breakfast options. The folks working at the front desk did not speak English, but I was able to check in easily and most (but not all) signs have English. I'd have a translator app ready to go though. Main complaints I had were: - Cigarette smoke smell in my room. It seemed relatively faint and wasn't always present, so I think it may have been from someone smoking outside or in a nearby room? I have a mild allergy to cigarette smoke so this was quite unpleasant. - Disposable toiletries were constantly replaced. Shower gel, shampoo, etc. are provided in small plastic bottles, but these would be replaced every day regardless of how much of their contents remained. In my 2 week stay that meant that nearly 50 bottles were used for 1 person -- this seems excessive and unnecessary.

GGuest UserMy parents were very satisfied, there were plenty of activities for the kids, and the Chinese restaurant was unexpectedly delicious 😋! The decor felt a little dated, but thankfully, it didn't detract from our overall experience. The mattress was incredibly comfortable – I wish I'd asked for the brand before we left! Special shout-out to Gao Yanhong at the front desk for being so warm and courteous. Also, a big thank you to the lovely young lady at the club who lent me a sun umbrella and a hat (I completely forgot to get her name!). The kayaking instructor was incredibly patient as well. While the kids enjoyed kayaking, we 'parked' the seniors with the hotel's photography service, and we were very happy with the final photos!

RRuthWe were happy with our stay here. The room was nicer than it looked online, and the hotel was really clean. There are playrooms for young children that are free (3 rooms with some different toys in each room). The rooms are a bit old and tired, but my 2 year old enjoyed playing there and requested UK hi back lots of times. For parents it is just great to have somewhere for your kid to play and have fun, especially as the weather was very cold when we went! Outside there is a play area and sand digging pit. Location is walking distance from Tongli old town. Restaurant does evening buffet, and buffet breakfast. The food is fine, more Chinese than western, my husband really liked it and my favourite part was the Beijing roast duck at dinner. The pool is warm, with floats and rubber rings to borrow. There is a little land train, it takes a 10 minute trip around the hotel grounds and the cost is 20RMB for one adult and child. For me it was very boring but my son loved it 😂 The staff are very warm and friendly, everyone is very professional. Each guest is connected to a butler on wechat before they arrive so you can easily send a message and get some help. Our butler is Yu Ting and she helped us very professionally. For me, the things the hotel can improve are (1) the animal petting zoo - by western standard the facilities for the animals are not very good, just concrete enclosure with hut. For foreigners, we do not really like this. (2) We had a problem with the other guests smoking in the hotel, eg in the coffee bar. When I complained to the staff they tried to stop the guests, but even though they repeatedly reminded them to stop, the other guests continued. In the end they arranged for me to move to a private room near the bar where I could avoid the smoking. I was very grateful that they found a solution for me and my baby, but I am speechless there are such guests who flagrantly break the rules and the hotel cannot stop them. We smelled smoke in some different public areas, so maybe this is a problem with several guests 🙁 Overall we are happy with our stay and it is a good place to spend a few days with kids.

WwikfncFirst off, I have to commend the cleaning staff; the room was incredibly clean, which made even someone with my germaphobia very satisfied. The hotel's soundproofing is also excellent – you can't hear a thing at night (aside from the unavoidable sound of other rooms closing their doors). I slept really well every night. Since it was my birthday, the hotel even gave me a Basque cheesecake. The executive lounge is available for purchase at 300 per day (for two people), and if you're not too picky about food, you can have all three meals there. Now, for a few things that I didn't like. On the day of check-in, I was waiting in line at the front desk with my room key to change the executive lounge usage time. A staff member was handing out water. The first time, everyone but me received water, including the person behind me. I thought maybe they just didn't see me. After I finished changing the time, as I turned to leave, someone else was handing out water again, and they walked right past me without offering any. I was ignored again. I'm not sure if I didn't look like a guest or if the water is only for Hilton Diamond members? Also, one of the young women at the front desk had a really sour expression! All the other young women were smiling and friendly. The gym equipment is relatively comprehensive, and breakfast was average.

The room has excellent office facilities, with comfortable desk and chair, and stable internet, making work incredibly efficient. The soundproofing is great; you can't hear any noise even in the corridor, ensuring a quiet environment for both work and rest. Check-out supports quick invoicing, the process is smooth, and the service is professional and efficient. It offers much better value for money than other hotels in the same price range. I'll definitely prioritize this hotel for future business travel!

The water was just right, and the surroundings were serene, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere. The swimming pool was also a big hit, especially with the kids. Spacious and well-maintained, it offered plenty of room for swimming, splashing, and simply having fun. The kids’ playground was another wonderful feature that our children absolutely loved. It was well-designed, safe, and filled with engaging activities that kept them entertained while we enjoyed a bit of downtime. Food at the Novotel Suzhou was a true treat! The morning brunch had a diverse selection of delicious items that catered to all tastes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making each meal a delightful experience. We looked forward to each dining experience, knowing there was something new to try and savor. The afternoon brunch was another stand-out feature. It was a luxurious affair with a mix of international and local flavors that kept us coming back for more. The chefs clearly took pride in their craft, and it showed in every dish. Overall, our stay at the Novotel Suzhou was filled with wonderful moments, from relaxing in the hot springs to enjoying family time at the pool and playground. GGuest UserI booked this hotel because I wanted to try out this style, and overall, I was quite satisfied with the experience. The only minor drawback was that the location was a bit hard to find at first; after parking the car at the entrance of Pingjiang Road, we had to walk a distance, and the ground was uneven, which made it a bit challenging with luggage. On the day of check-in, the front desk surprised us with an upgrade to a room with a bathtub, which was a really pleasant surprise. The front desk staff also had an excellent attitude, making us feel very well taken care of. Additionally, upon check-in, thoughtful touches like small cookies, fruit, yogurt, and a welcome card were provided. These little details really enhanced the experience. The only thing is that the lighting in the room was a bit dim. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't know how to operate it, or if it was designed that way. It would have been perfect if the lighting brightness could be adjusted.
