I don’t think I could ever give this hotel enough praise. The rooms were beautiful as was the location and scenery. Cleanliness was a 10 out of 10, but what especially amazed me was how friendly and diligent the staff were. They were so kind, offering me free fruit and other snacks. One staff member gave me restaurant recommendations. I plan on staying here again in the future and would recommend it to any solo travelers or couples looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

Guest UserThe hotel is conveniently located close to the dock. The hotel includes breakfast and can provide lunch and dinner. All dishes are made from local production. The dishes are good. The host and the staff are all very accommodating and try their best to help and are always available. The hotel was fully refurbished when we came. It was clean, well furnished and well maintained. The cost appeared reasonable even during the national holiday. We chose a room with a balcony. The terrasse adds a lot of convenience and is really enjoyable. We used it often. We did spend a pleasant time there. An important reminder comes as the hotel is close, maybe one of the closest to the dock. Therefore the activity around the hotel is intense, starts early and finishes late. This can affect light sleepers and is reinforced by the fact that the island is a heaven of silence.
The island is perfect to reconnect to the nature, the slowness of life. We did appreciate our time walking around the island, visiting every small street and enjoying the pleasant view. People are very nice, organisation in the island is good and provides all the necessities. A good place for one or few days stay with or without children.

eeningHad a really enjoyable stay at Mulan Huayue Hotel during our visit to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town.
The service was exceptional from start to finis. When we arrived, the staff came to pick us up from the admission gate and helped carry our luggage to the hotel, which was especially helpful since the old town streets can be a bit tricky with bags.
We arrived before check-in time, and since the rooms were ready, the owner let us look at the available rooms and choose the one we preferred based on the view. It was a small gesture, but it made us feel very welcome.
The location is also excellent. Since the hotel is located inside the ancient town itself, we could simply step outside and start exploring the canals, bridges, and old streets without needing any additional transport. It was especially nice to wander around early in the morning and at night when there were fewer crowds.
The hotel also has two super cute cats that were always hanging around and made the place feel even more homely.
We tried the hotel's restaurant and were impressed by the food. Our favorite dish was the 酸菜肉丝炒芦苇根, which was delicious and something we hadn't tried before. The food was slightly on the salty side for our taste, but overall we enjoyed everything we ordered.
When it was time to head to our next hotel in Suzhou, the owner helped arrange a car for us (150 RMB). The driver was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information along the way, which made the journey much more enjoyable.
Another thing I appreciated was how attentive the owner was. When we ran out of drinking water, she personally brought three more bottles to our room without us having to ask multiple times.
Overall, this was one of those places where you can really feel the warmth and hospitality of the owner. It made our stay in Zhouzhuang much more memorable, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

CalabresepepperThis little traditional inn was absolutely delightful 1 night stay and the host family could not have been more kind and helpful. The owner helped us get our bags to and from the inn as everything in this area is pedestrianised and no vehicle is available for transporting luggage. You must register for entrance into the historical zone at the main office before you try to enter the security gates by showing your ID as is the case with all things in China. Don't let this put you off. Smoking indoors is common so ask for smoke free treatment. Highly recommended.

Guest UserAs an InterContinental hotel, Kimpton Bamboo Grove truly captures the elegant charm of Suzhou perfectly! Located in the heart of the old city, the hotel offers a serene escape while being right next to the UFun commercial area, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. It's also very easy to access major attractions. If you're driving, you can enjoy free parking at the mall; just remember to ask the front desk for a parking voucher, a thoughtful detail. The hotel's design cleverly blends with traditional Suzhou garden aesthetics, showcasing the charm of Gusu everywhere. In late autumn, the public areas are brimming with atmosphere, with lush greenery complementing pavilions, terraces, towers, and waterscape gardens. Every photo taken here is a picturesque, atmospheric shot, and every corner holds a subtle design surprise. We had a slight wait for our room during check-in, but after contacting our butler, Anbo, we were assigned a ground-floor courtyard room with its own private hollowed-out courtyard. Sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon, basking in the sun and admiring the intermingled red and yellow hues of autumn, was incredibly therapeutic and offered a rare tranquility that allowed us to completely unwind. During our stay, our butler also proactively asked if we needed more amenities, and the service was thoughtful and heartwarming. The room was also spotlessly clean. The hotel breakfast wasn't overly extensive, but the food was exquisite and delicious, and the freshly opened whole coconut was definitely a highlight for me – the experience far exceeded expectations. The hotel is also pet-friendly, and you can see many furry friends around. As a rare gem of a hotel in Gusu District, staying in such a delightful hotel truly doubles the happiness of the entire trip!

Guest UserThis guesthouse is really great! It has its own unique charm, the surroundings are beautiful, and it's super clean and tidy. A shuttle picked us up right at the parking lot, and it's only about a hundred meters from the scenic area entrance, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The guesthouse also has its own restaurant, and the dishes are exquisitely prepared and taste amazing. Highly, highly recommend! 👍👍👍

Stanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.

Guest Userlocation: right in front of the shantang street n vibe area. However car cannot enter so u have to carry the luggage from drop off point to the hotel around 150m. Going out to other area needs to go the same drop off point. The area is quiet thou outside is buzzed. However from 3-10pm there will be performance n suzhou singing at the restaurant. However it didn't affect my room n they provide sleeping tea n ear plugs.
The room ambience is lit to be cozy n comfy. I didnt feel stressed but relax.
Breakfast is okay n plain but healthy dishes of 9 boxes in 1 n a porridge.
You can request more than the 2 bottles of water per day. Just need to get them at the reception.
Service is friendly and the hotel allowed delivery to the room by the rider.
Also nearby are many restaurants selling suzhou cuisines n 2 michelin listed ones.
I got a fruit plate on first day of stay n they were washed n good.
Ust remember to plug the mosquito repellent devices. About two to ensure no mosquitoes. It is common in all hotel in shanghai n suzhou.
The room are also clean n comfy beds n sofa. It is big unlike hotels building as u stay in replica of ancient styled house.
There are also seat warmer n bidet sprayer.
I also went to wugong banquet bought from trip and had fun with a rented parrot to company the banquet.

This hotel is truly unique and embodies the charm of Suzhou. It's incredibly close to the Humble Administrator's Garden, and the Lion Grove Garden is also a lot of fun. They have delicious snacks and lots of cats here. If you appreciate peace and quiet, this is the perfect place for you.

Our stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless.
The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light.
The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations. Their tips truly made our trip special.
We felt so at home and will 100% be recommending this gem to all our friends. Don’t hesitate—book this place for a seamless and memorable Suzhou adventure
