Best Hotels in Matraia, Italy

This is a lovely hotel and we would highly recommend it. It is in a great location with plentiful restaurants and bars in the area if you wished to explore. We are a family of four with two adult sons and we booked two Deluxe Premium rooms which were really spacious and clean. One room had a balcony and overlooked the swimming pool and surrounding area - postcard setting with a fantastic view. We were part of a large group from Ireland with Topflight who were on the Andrea Bocelli Experience and this hotel ticked all of the boxes for us. We had a lovely drinks reception and 'welcoming meal' on our first evening and a farewell dinner' on the last - all of which was delicious and the service was great. We also 'ate in' one evening and enjoyed the meal. The communal areas in this hotel are really comfortable and you would find it easy to find a quiet, comfortable spot to read a book and relax. There is also a nicely furnished outdoor terrace at the front of the hotel which was ideal for chilling out and socialising. Even though we were part of a large group we felt valued as customers and, by the end of the week, it felt like the staff were part of the group! This was particularly evident on our last night as they volunteered to take group photos and they entered into the fun of the occasion. They took great pride in their work and they were visibly excited when this was acknowledged. Many thanks to Giuseppe who multi-tasked with the groups, to Roberto who single-handedly manned the bar with super efficiency, to Marta, Sara and Rosa who served breakfast and dinner with a smile and had great patience with a diverse group, to all reception staff who were professional and friendly (Fabio was charming) and to the housekeeping staff who ensured that our rooms were spotlessly clean. Worth mentioning that we organised a private tour to Florence for our family. We liaised with Alessia at reception by email prior to the trip and we found her most helpful and obliging when we enquired if the hotel could organise a private return transfer. We were delighted when she confirmed that it was possible and the driver that they employ (another Roberto) was professional, friendly, punctual and safe. We can highly recommend him. Hotel Columbia Wellness & Spa is conveniently located in the popular Near Center area. The property features a wide range of facilities to make your stay a pleasant experience. Some of the well-appointed guestrooms feature whirlpool bathtub, air conditioning, heating, desk, mini bar. Take a break from a long day and make use of hot tub, sauna, spa, massage, steamroom. A welcoming atmosphere and excellent service are what you can expect during your stay at Hotel Columbia Wellness & Spa.

Greatly and centrally located near lots of places to eat, have a drink and visit. Parking outside wasn’t too complicated, just find a spot and pay. When we got there we only found one employee who couldn’t speak English and was a bit difficult to check in but regardless he was very nice, helpful and serviceable. He also helped us with figuring out how the parking worked. Room and bathroom were nice and spacious though the mini fridge didn’t really seemed to work. Other than that I pile stay again if I were in the area.

The hotel is within a shopping center which is very convenient. Free parking in front of the hotel. The breakfast is ok, not too many choices but it s enaugh.

Campeggio tenuto in condizioni perfette. Gestione minuziosa e attenta a ogni singola esigenza. La pulizia è impeccabile e nelle aree comuni non è affatto scontato. Spiaggia tenuta dal bagnino Angelo in modo encomiabile, ordinata, pulita e ben organizzata. Spritz buonissimi al bar. Ristorante buono e con prezzi onesti. Nulla da dire. Sicuramente da tornare 😃

Had a lovely week at the Grand Hotel Royal. It's a gem of a hotel which provided our base for a weeks stay. This was our second stay in Viareggio having previously stayed at the Grand Hotel Principe Di Piemonte which is a 5 star hotel close by. The Grand Hotel Royal was pretty much a match and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel and the friendliness and help of all the staff who went out of there help to provide excellent service. I had the need to attend a local hospital and the concierge staff were quick to advise and arrange for transportation to the hospital. We had a couple of days staying local, enjoying the hotel pool and table tennis and a few days taking day (train) trips to Florence, Sienna and Cinque Terre which was a fantastic day out and worth the 18 Euros day card available from the station at La Spezia which enables you travel between all of the 5 beautiful villages on the line. We did all of the villages in about 6 hours using the trains. All in all a fantastic holiday in a quality hotel with super helpful staff all within the beautiful towns and villages of Tuscany. What more could you ask for?

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

A good location with easy walking to the centre, bars and restaurants. The superior rooms were very good with no outside noise and a lovely shower. The breakfast was three star but very well presented and very tasty. The star of the show was Raphael on reception. A former pilot in the military, Raphael flew the flag for Hotel Boston. He was efficient, funny and professional - and made our hotel experience even more enjoyable.

Hotel on the outskirts of the city. Before stopping - 5 min a week, 25 min a weekend (this should be taken into account if there is no car). A comfortable room, there is everything you need. For breakfast, the choice of several options (toasts, eggs, yogurt, etc), the owner prepares for the specified time.

I spent two nights at the Tuscany Inn in October 2023 because I wanted to see if it was suitable for hosting 50-60 relatives between the December holidays. Yes, it is very suitable. This hotel is really recommendable: modern, very clean, spacious rooms, excellent conference rooms with IT infrastructure, delicious Tuscan cuisine, right next to the motorway exit, 400m from the train station, parking on the roof terrace, free access to the fitness centre, a few minutes walk from the centre. It is rounded off by extremely friendly and competent staff. Bright, large quiet rooms, even on the side of the Lucca - Firenze railway line as it only runs during the day. Very clean room. Gastronomy : 9 out of 10 points, an excellent rating for a hotel. Last but not least, the prices are right.
