Mountain View Hotels in Beijing

The room was very spacious and clean. The service attitude was excellent! My only suggestion would be to have a more varied breakfast. Overall, it's a great choice for business trips in the area. 👍

We chose this hotel because my daughter's clinical exam was right across the street, and it turned out to be a real gem. 1. Upon check-in, Duty Manager Wang Dandan assisted us. I mentioned my daughter was taking an exam and asked for a quiet room. Manager Wang immediately upgraded our room type and gave us a truly satisfying room. 2. The next morning at breakfast, my daughter barely ate anything due to waking up early and exam stress. I asked the restaurant staff if I could take a few pastries for her to eat when she returned, and they immediately provided a to-go box for me to select items. 3. My daughter had three exams on Sunday, with the last one starting at 4:30 PM. I requested a late check-out, and Manager Wang enthusiastically coordinated and got approval for it. I visit Gubei Water Town every year and have stayed in countless inns there. Yang's Inn and Qingcheng Inn are two places I feel offer superb environments for their balcony rooms. The rooms are very spacious, and the balconies are large enough to feed swans, mandarin ducks, and regular ducks. You can even watch the Iron Flower performance from the balcony at night. The location is central and convenient for getting anywhere.

The inn's location is excellent, right near Sun and Moon Island Plaza, making it convenient for shuttle buses and sculling boats. The room layout is well-designed, clean, and hygienic, allowing my family to rest comfortably. The breakfast provided by the inn is very generous, and the special dinner dishes are delicious and affordable. Waking up in the morning, you can enjoy the tranquility of the water town from the balcony. The host's service is also excellent. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!

On the morning of our check-in, the hotel called to inform us that due to the typhoon, they were being used as a temporary shelter, so our booking was moved to a Deluxe Family Room at Gubei Zhiguang. The room at Gubei Zhiguang was a bit smaller and the facilities felt a bit dated, but the breakfast was good, which somewhat made up for it. What I found unacceptable was the 25 CNY charge for the hotel parking. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault, but rather an issue with the overall scenic area management. By the way, a shoutout to the Chinese restaurant opposite Gubei Zhiguang – it was excellent.

The hotel is located all the way at the end of Gubei Water Town, but they provide a free 24/7 shuttle service that can drop guests off at their desired destinations within the town. If the shuttle is not readily available, there is a hotline you can call and a driver will come to pick you up, which is extremely convenient. The hotel is also just a five-minute walk from the entrance to the Great Wall. As hotel guests staying overnight, we received discounted tickets to access the Great Wall, which was a nice bonus. Another highlight is that this hotel is one of only three hotels in the area that offer complimentary access to the hot springs. On our first night, we visited another hotel’s hot spring and were provided with free admission tickets. On the second night, we enjoyed complimentary access to the hot spring at our own hotel. The outdoor hot spring overlooking the Great Wall was a truly memorable experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall setting was pleasant. The only downside was that the lobby toilets were squat toilets. We would have preferred Western-style toilets for added comfort. Luckily, the room toilet was a western style toilet. We did a night visit to the Great Wall and came down around 8.30pm. Unfortunately, the dinner service around the hotel area has ended and we could only visit the main town to get dinner. Overall, the convenient shuttle service, Great Wall access, and complimentary hot springs made for a very enjoyable stay.

The location of the Inn is peaceful as it is near the riverbank and it is very close to the square as well. I have the view of the river and the lighted up Great Wall at night from my room. The lady boss was very friendly and helpful in providing us the direction of the hot spring. We had our lunch in the restaurant and the braised beef was tasty. The homely breakfast provided was delicious. Beside the normal porridge, steamed bun and toast provided, there were also choices of wanton soup and noodles soup which they prepared for us upon ordering Highly recommend..!!

The hotel environment is excellent, with a great sense of design, and the room views are absolutely stunning. The bedding is comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The service makes you feel right at home; the butler helped with our luggage, and the breakfast offers both Western and Chinese options, all delicious.

A day of much-needed respite, and I chose this hotel. Nestled on the sofa, I watched the rolling mountains outside the window, with the Great Wall subtly peeking through. A cup of tea, a quiet moment, no need to think about anything. In the evening, a hot bath completely relaxed me – a long-awaited indulgence. Alvin at the front desk helped upgrade my room, significantly improving the view. He provided just the right amount of attention throughout, not overly chatty but responsive to every need, making this brief escape exceptionally comfortable.

Facilities: The kids' playground was a bit disappointing. One slide was under maintenance, and there was no trampoline, just building blocks and such – not much to play with. It was worse than what I expected from a family-friendly hotel's children's facilities. The pool was great and clean. The hot spring pools were also a lot of fun. However, the outdoor area only opens at 10:30 AM and the slides close around 5 PM. In Beijing's summer, it's impossible to play when it's at its hottest; you'd get roasted. And it closes before it even gets dark. It's a bit of a shame that we couldn't fully enjoy the outdoor slide pool. Cleanliness: Clean. Service: Very good and enthusiastic. Kevin, our butler, helped us solve all sorts of problems throughout our stay. Many thanks to him. Environment: Right next to Wanda Plaza, so no worries about food and drinks. It was very convenient. The hotel lobby bar was also good, with decent standards.
