Great service! They set up a surprised cake, flowers and balloon in room for my birthday, very touched. All staff are very attentive, breakfast is nice too.
Only short coming is the overhead lamp is in an awkward position, table blocked the way to get to sofa, moved it and hit the head on the lamp. The lamp fitting may be wrong too… the angular part should be inside instead of facing out. Not being fussy but well, it’s a design hotel, this shouldn’t happen.

The room is spacious, bright, comfortable and clean. It is cleaned and disinfected every day. Disposable disinfectant wipes are provided very considerately. The service staff will also add water to the humidifier every day. The details are praised. Wei Wanyi and Ms. Gong Liwen in the lobby bar are also very considerate and gave many small gifts to the children. The overall staff are warm and polite, and they are also good-looking. The hotel is worth the money. Very good!
The hotel is located in Lianhuachi Village, Yanqi Town, nestled in the beautiful valley at the foot of the Great Wall. The charming rural scenery, layers of green trees covering the valley, folk charm, and vivid history complement each other. The hotel's bedding and cotton fabrics provide you with an exceptional sleeping experience, while the sunken bathroom and Thai style terrace courtyard give you a unique stay experience; The stream formed by the convergence of gurgling mountain springs and the peaceful Thai courtyard make the Thai Lotus Garden full of charming exotic Southeast Asian charm. The chirping of birds in the mountains and forests and the ecological environment add a misty and charming atmosphere. The hotel is located near scenic spots such as Yanqi Lake, Shentangyu, and Jiankou Great Wall, with convenient transportation. It blends into this exotic paradise, allowing the body and mind to freely wander in the picturesque valleys, quiet and gentle streams, picturesque charming skies, and fragrant flowers. Rest to the fullest, feel time quietly passing by at your fingertips, and your soul will slowly become quiet.

The hotel is on the mountain. Fortunately, there was a big snowstorm. The scenery is beautiful. The room facilities are a bit old. The area does not seem as big as in the pictures. The service is good and the food is delicious.

Magical place that we wanna visit again!!!
The staff were very helpful throughout the stay. Place was spacious, clean and neat, bed was comfortable, which was important for travellers to rest adequately 🤗 at night we could even see the clear starry sky and did Stargazing at the courtyard.
The breakfast was beautifuly presented and delicious too. The cafe visit is a must. There was a mini farmyard there where there were 3 goats that guests were freely playing with and touching. The setup and deco were so beautiful that you will end up spending hours there taking pictures or admiring the views. Many locals seem to visit the cafe for the food and beautiful aesthetics as well. The coffee were beautifully presented - and I didn't expect they will taste so good! The mix were refreshing and simply awesome.
Location was very ideal too. Convenient to the Great wall entrance - took about 5min by taxi.
Overall happy with my stay here, and I'd definitely recommend it to all travellers! This is the best place we've stayed in our trip to Beijing. Simply beautiful and magical.

- The location is excellent. It is just round the corner from Gubei Water Town. A two minute walk to the entrance hall.
- The service was good. The staff added us on WeChat and were very quick to respond to messages and queries. One stand out moment for us was when our food was 2 hours late from a local restaurant. I was struggling to communicate with the restaurant because my Chinese is not very good. Staff reached out on our behalf and sorted the issue for us.
- Cleanliness was OK. The sheets on the bed felt lovely and clean, but the apartment was not spotless. The shower had some black mould, and the floor in the kitchen felt sticky.
- The apartment itself had some pros. My son absolutely loved all the toys and the slides. It made his experience very enjoyable.
- Plenty of towels, toiletries provided.
However
- The shower leaked constantly. Every time we used the shower the bathroom would become flooded - which was a slipping hazard for my son.
- The curtains are very thin. Every morning we were woken up to a bright light streaming through the windows. This meant that my son’s sleep was not great. We did contact the staff about this. They used sellotape to stick up some bedsheets on the windows, but this fell down within minutes! We appreciate the efforts though.
- We would have felt better if there was a stair gate. As this is an apartment aimed at families, a stair gate would be good for safety.
- Limited cutlery is provided. We were given some disposable chopsticks. However very few cooking utensils / no children’s cutlery. Bring your own if you want to cook. :)
- There was only once choice of breakfast - which was not to our personal taste. Would be good if 2 or three options were provided. There is a lovely bakery around the corner and we enjoyed buying our breakfast from there for the remainder of the trip.

The room was clean and tidy and well maintained. Standing on the balcony in the morning, the air was very fresh and the sight line was very good. The bedding is also clean and comfortable. The overall environment is great. Although breakfast is a divided plate, it can be added. The front desk lady took the initiative to send the suitcase to the building, and patiently visited other room types the next day, especially intimate. In short, every staff member I met was polite and welcoming, making people feel happy. When I first went up the mountain, I was a little regretful because I didn't see the mountain peach blossoms, but I was very happy after I checked in. Will come again when I have time. Finally, I wish the store a prosperous life.
The first time I came to Miyun to play, I booked this homestay. The boss contacted me in advance. The service attitude was very good. He also helped me upgrade to a small courtyard closer to the reservoir. The small courtyard has a beautiful environment, independent yard, barbecue, cooking, clean and hygienic. The facilities are all up-to-date, great!
This homestay is very convenient around, there are supermarkets for eating, next time you come to Miyun, this is the first choice

WanderHotel is located at the Shentangyu Pass of the Ming Great Wall in Yanqi Town, Huairou District, Beijing, hidden in the historic Guandi Village. Here, the mountains are beautiful, the streams are gurgling, and the Yanqi River flows quietly. Wild animals occasionally probe their heads, and even black storks with a wingspan of 2 meters occasionally fly low. At night, away from the city haze, the starry sky sparkles with twinkling fireflies, as if in a fairy tale world. The homestay is an independent three story courtyard with a usable area of approximately 1500 square meters for guests. The courtyard is equipped with parking spaces, a children's swimming pool, swings and slides, etc. Garden style courtyard for tea and flower appreciation, as well as outdoor barbecue; There is a large observation terrace on the rooftop, with a wide view of the Wild Great Wall. The room is equipped with brand bathroom, deep soaking bathtub (viewing window), super grand view sundeck, 180 ° view french window, high-quality bedding and toiletries. The king room has a comfortable 2 * 2-meter king size bed, while the twin room has 2 single beds that are 1.5 meters wide. The Yanqi River around the hostel is a great place to hike, and the seven kilometer Shentangyu boardwalk is an ideal place to check in on foot. Fanqi Road in the mountains is a paradise for cycling enthusiasts, with numerous internet famous homestays and restaurants along the way. Yanqi Lake at the foot of the mountain is a boutique destination for Beijing outings, suitable for cycling and walking, enjoying the beauty of the mountains and waters.

Thinking of taking my kids to play, my friend recommended this B&B to me. It was really good after I came here. The environment was clean and hygienic. The kids had a lot of fun. There were free drinks and snacks in the room. There were also swings and skateboards outdoors. With a nutritious and healthy breakfast, the dinner I ordered was large in size and tasted good. I will definitely come again in the future.
Great Wall Station Castle Boutique Hotel | Where Landscapes Become Your Pillow and History Your Bedfellow
Nestled among the peaks kissed by the first dawn light of Mutianyu Great Wall, Great Wall Station Castle Boutique Hotel awaits poetic souls with mountain ridges as its pillow and cloud seas as its canopy. This 5,000-square-meter stone castle, crafted by China's premier design team, lies merely a 5-minute walk from the Great Wall entrance. Serving as both a gateway to Jiankou Great Wall and Hongluo Temple, it emerges as a cultural sanctuary for urbanites seeking spiritual repose.
Embracing the "vessel of time" concept, designers harmoniously blend Ming Dynasty brick textures with smart home technologies. Twenty-four themed guest rooms stand as 24 crystallized poems - where old elm wood beams whisper centuries-old tales, custom lighting etches mountain silhouettes, and window frames transform the Great Wall's seasonal vistas into living murals. Each century-old furnishing, carefully curated by heritage restoration experts, breathes new life into contemporary spaces.
Redefining boutique hospitality, the castle creates multidimensional experiences:
• Sip wine under star-strewn skies on rooftop terraces overlooking serpentine battlements
• Immerse in Ming-Qing era intrigues through basement-level LARP experiences
• Survey the dragon-like wall's majesty via helicopter tours
• Corporate teams strategize in boardrooms before transitioning to open-air grill parties
• Families bond through playground laughter and curated parent-child activities
"True Great Wall immersion resides not beneath your feet, but within your heart." Through its humanistic warmth, this mountain-encircled temporal gateway invites guests to trace historical imprints while constructing their own spiritual fortifications. Here at the crossroads of eras, we await to co-create your contemporary rendition of "Spring Mountains in View" - an oriental poetic gathering for modern times

The room was beautiful, large, clean and nicely decorated.
The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walk from the ticket office of the Mutianyu Great Wall.
The staff were all friendly and very helpful (communication was mostly via “google translate”)
It was a good stay, and I would recommend it for anybody visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall.

It’s hard to imagine that there are such high-quality B&Bs in Beijing. The rooms are elegant and simple, clean and spacious, and the fragrance is fragrant. Lying in bed and looking at the mountain scenery outside the window, or soaking in the mountain spring water that nourishes the skin in the bathtub, it is good for the nerves. For me, who has been busy for a week, it is an excellent enjoyment.
The boss is very nice and will invite you to watch an open-air football match in the evening breeze. In addition, the entire mountain is contracted by a B&B. The winding paths lead to secluded areas. You can climb the mountain when you have nothing to do. Play billiards (Qiao's Table), choose between barbecue or hot pot buffet in the evening, the enthusiastic aunt will help you move your things to the rooftop, watch the sunset slowly set in the west, and eat delicious food, you will feel happy This trip is in vain

GGuest UserThe room is very warm and stylish. It seems that care has been taken and all the little details have been considered. I met three front desk clerks, and their service was very enthusiastic, especially Xiao Wang. I had three meals at Fangen. They were delicious and reasonably priced. Will stay again. A little suggestion is to prepare some commonly used medicines, such as colds, etc.

GGuest UserFrom the moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was deeply attracted by its warm and stylish atmosphere. The room is elegantly and practically decorated, and every detail reveals the owner's ingenuity and care. The bed is soft and comfortable, allowing me to sleep well all night. Moreover, the location of the B&B is perfect! Not only is the transportation convenient, but there are also many delicious foods and attractions around, which makes it particularly convenient to travel. Every time I come back from going out, I feel like I'm home, which is so warm. What touched me most was the service of the B&B owner. They are warm and hospitable. Not only do they provide a wealth of travel guides, but they also always pay attention to our needs, making us feel the warmth of home. This kind of thoughtful service is really unforgettable. In short, whether it is the environment, location or service, it has exceeded my expectations. Next time I come here, I will choose it without hesitation! Highly recommended to everyone who likes to travel and pursues quality life!

GGuest UserTraveling alone from Taiwan to Beijing, I booked the boss's most economical room type and stayed there for two days. Let me fully feel that ”both sides of the Taiwan Strait are one family”! The boss did not treat me differently because the room type I booked was cheap, but was very enthusiastic and patient in helping me... The room was very clean, the bathroom was not public, you just had to go to the first floor, there was no air conditioning but there was a vertical fan, and others The room is no different from an ordinary double room. I will bring my family to Beijing and stay in the boss’s hotel again in the future!

AAnonymous UserThe inn is in a prime location, 1-2 minutes walk from Sun Moon Island Square. It's the most fun to watch drones at night.
At 19:00, I went to watch the water dance show first, and then walked to Sun Moon Island Square. The drone show started in about 5 minutes. I ordered food to the proprietress on WeChat while waiting. After watching the show, I returned to the inn and started eating. After eating, I took a short break and returned to the square to watch the second drone show. It was really smooth throughout the whole process, without taking any detours or wasting a minute.
The inn is small. Although the room is not big, it is clean and hygienic, with complete facilities, and very quiet in the off-season. The proprietress is enthusiastic and the boss cooks very delicious food. It was a very happy stay experience.

MMae YeI stayed overnight at Beijing Wtown Resort and was very satisfied with my experience. The room was clean and looked new, the hospitality was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious and varied, offering both Western and Asian options. The staff was kind and helpful.
And I would especially like to thank Mr. Yin Yingdai for his outstanding assistance throughout our stay. From the moment we checked in, he provided us with his WeChat contact in case we needed any help. He assisted us in booking a hot spring visit and was incredibly attentive when one of our friends suffered a bruise after a fall in the Gu Bei scenic area—he even offered to call a doctor and arrange a late check-out if needed. On the day of our departure, he went the extra mile by helping us book a shuttle bus to the parking lot.
I will definitely return to Gu Bei Watertown in the future and will stay at Beijing Wtown Resort again!

AAnonymous UserStayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024, planned for 1 night to visit around the town itself and another night for the Simatai Great Wall.
1. Location - Inn is located within Gubei Watertown and it is necessary to go through the watertown to visit the Simatai Great Wall. By booking an accommodation within the town gives you discounted entrance price into the town and since we planned to visit the great wall and explore the town itself we have decided to stay for 2 nights (also partly the cost and time to travel there from Beijing). Inn is located near the main square where some performances are held and near a shuttle service stop (free shuttle services within town if you’re staying in an accommodation within town. Overall a good location within town.
2. Room - Booked a family room for 4 (2 single beds in each level). Room is mostly made of wood hence its not really a modern feel and its not really sound-proof which the staff has notified in advance. Room is spacious and bathroom is big. Stairs that goes up to the 2nd level is stable but can be a little steep for seniors. Overall the room is decent. It comes with tomatoes, peanuts and tea as welcome gift.
3. Luggage - There’s a luggage service whereby you can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your hotel from entrance, and from hotel back to entrance. This is definitely needed as the ground in the watertown is not a smooth surface and can be hard to carry your luggages around.
4. Services & breakfast - Staff’s services is really good and efficient! Breakfast is simple but has good variety. There’s the buffet portion which consists of small dishes for porridge, bread, bun, drinks etc. And there’s an alacarte portion where you need to order in advance the night before such as bacon, egg, sausages, noodles etc. i think its a good initiative to avoid wastage.
Overall a very good stay and would recommend if you are visiting Gubei Watertown and would like to stay in a more traditional feel.

DDaddy-VicThe room was dated. The toilet bowl was unable to flush and in the end, we have to get call the receptionist to contact the plumber to unchoke the toilet bowl.
Breakfast spread was huge with lots of variety.
Location was good with walking distance to water town and free bus ride to all the different parts of the town including the Great Wall cable car.

GGuest UserCommune by the Great Wall is in a very nice location only about 30 minutes away from the Badaling section of the Great Wall. The staff here was extremely helpful, especially for someone who doesn't speak much Chinese.
The area is pretty far removed from any other services or restaurants, so unless you have your own transportation, you will be mostly eating at the hotel. Luckily, the food is absolutely delicious and extremely well prepared at the restaurant offered by the hotel.
It's also in a beautiful natural area with a lot of nice forested areas to explore right outside your hotel room. Yang was especially helpful and assisted me in getting a ticket and taxi to the Badaling Great Wall.

TtorinessThis is a good budget option if you want to stay overnight near Gubei Watertown - but there are serious limitations. It was very confusing and quite stressful when we first arrived at the location provided - we couldn’t find the address given, but a local lady was very helpful and called the owners/managers for us and then a driver came to collect us. The address given is a meeting point, not the location of where you are actually staying. It was as we were driven to the 2 apartments (not rooms in an individual villa) that I realised we were not staying in or right at the Watertown as I thought we were. It was a 5-10 minute drive away. To be clear the managers were very friendly and always available on WeChat and the driver took us to and from the Watertown whenever we liked so that was fine - but it means you have to pay entry every time you enter the Watertown - which is expensive - so just take that cost into account. There also didn’t seem to be anywhere to eat at the apartment complex either but perhaps we couldn’t find it (it was a huge complex) so I recommend you eat before you go or take (especially breakfast) food with you. I booked two rooms with a view. One room had a GREAT view of the Great wall (photo included) and the other looked at nondescript trees and grass the other direction. Mainly I went on this special trip with my older parents to Gubei so it was disappointing that we weren’t really staying together in a villa - we were in a giant apartment building on separate floors.

Llily/We were looking for a getaway from the city vacations and this is definitely the place. The room was clean and neat, towels changed every day. I was concerned about the meals not being up to our expectations, but I couldn't be more wrong. It's Chinese cuisine but not spicy as I expected and there's a big variety of dishes to choose from. A bit pricey though if you go on tight budget, but DELICIOUS. Breakfast, however was average, not many options, but coffee was decent. Bottom line a great experience, loved the pool and the attention from the staff was 10 out of 10. A big THANK YOU to all the hotel workers. Will be definitely recommending the place.
