Guest UserThe room was very spacious and clean. The service attitude was excellent! My only suggestion would be to have a more varied breakfast. Overall, it's a great choice for business trips in the area. 👍

Guest UserThe location of the Inn is peaceful as it is near the riverbank and it is very close to the square as well. I have the view of the river and the lighted up Great Wall at night from my room.
The lady boss was very friendly and helpful in providing us the direction of the hot spring. We had our lunch in the restaurant and the braised beef was tasty.
The homely breakfast provided was delicious. Beside the normal porridge, steamed bun and toast provided, there were also choices of wanton soup and noodles soup which they prepared for us upon ordering
Highly recommend..!!

XiaoyingyingxiaoExtremely satisfied with the room! The service was attentive and warm. The room itself was very quiet and spacious. Downstairs, there's an underground shopping mall with lots of great food options – I especially loved Xiaogu Jie's Malaxiangguo. The room had a desk, perfect for getting some work done, and even an English-style power outlet. The bed was super comfortable, and I really liked the duvet; its thickness was just right for summer. There were plenty of complimentary bottled waters, which was a thoughtful touch. They even gave us some fruit – a big apple and three oranges. So heartwarming! I'll definitely be back.

Anonymous UserStayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024, planned for 1 night to visit around the town itself and another night for the Simatai Great Wall.
1. Location - Inn is located within Gubei Watertown and it is necessary to go through the watertown to visit the Simatai Great Wall. By booking an accommodation within the town gives you discounted entrance price into the town and since we planned to visit the great wall and explore the town itself we have decided to stay for 2 nights (also partly the cost and time to travel there from Beijing). Inn is located near the main square where some performances are held and near a shuttle service stop (free shuttle services within town if you’re staying in an accommodation within town. Overall a good location within town.
2. Room - Booked a family room for 4 (2 single beds in each level). Room is mostly made of wood hence its not really a modern feel and its not really sound-proof which the staff has notified in advance. Room is spacious and bathroom is big. Stairs that goes up to the 2nd level is stable but can be a little steep for seniors. Overall the room is decent. It comes with tomatoes, peanuts and tea as welcome gift.
3. Luggage - There’s a luggage service whereby you can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your hotel from entrance, and from hotel back to entrance. This is definitely needed as the ground in the watertown is not a smooth surface and can be hard to carry your luggages around.
4. Services & breakfast - Staff’s services is really good and efficient! Breakfast is simple but has good variety. There’s the buffet portion which consists of small dishes for porridge, bread, bun, drinks etc. And there’s an alacarte portion where you need to order in advance the night before such as bacon, egg, sausages, noodles etc. i think its a good initiative to avoid wastage.
Overall a very good stay and would recommend if you are visiting Gubei Watertown and would like to stay in a more traditional feel.

The hotel as a whole is very stylish and thoughtfully designed; both the common areas and rooms are incredibly photogenic, making every picture you take look great. The staff provides attentive and considerate service, proactively opening car doors and helping with luggage upon arrival. They are warm and polite, with an evident dedication to detail. The rooms are clean and upscale, offering a very comfortable stay. The breakfast spread is extensive, featuring both Chinese and Western dishes made with fresh ingredients. Hot dishes, desserts, and fruits are all available, ensuring both adults and children can find something they love. It's perfectly suited for both leisure and family trips, offering an excellent overall experience. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Coming to Mutianyu Great Wall, I didn't want to get up super early, so I chose to stay here for a night. The room overall was pretty good. The loft had a double bed and a single bed, and the downstairs tea area could comfortably sleep an adult as well. It felt quite spacious for three adults and two children.
After checking in, we spontaneously decided to head up to the Great Wall right away. It turned out that the Great Wall in the evening was absolutely fantastic! We avoided the huge crowds and could leisurely admire the vast and magnificent scenery without any rush.
The hotel's facilities were also great. It had its own children's playground, and the restaurant food tasted good. Staff helped with our luggage during both check-in and check-out, providing thoughtful and attentive service. Plus, there were so many relaxed and cozy cats sleeping everywhere, they were just adorable!

This was my first stay at the Beijing Baolu Hotel, and it happened to be during the New Year's holiday, so the occupancy rate was quite high. The hotel felt like a hidden gem, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. The warm service from the front desk and staff made me feel right at home. I especially want to mention my butler, Xiaoxing. From carefully inquiring about our needs before check-in to her warm and attentive service during check-in, she demonstrated the professionalism and warmth expected of a star-rated hotel. On the afternoon of my stay, during the lacquer fan experience activity, she was the only one handling seven or eight pairs of children and parents, providing excellent emotional support throughout the activity. She also handled some of the more unreasonable suggestions from parents very well (she deserves a bonus!).
Finally, one suggestion is that the lettering on the information panel next to the room is still quite bright even with the lights off at night. We could proactively provide eye masks for guests with higher sleep requirements. Also, since the butler also mentioned the air conditioning noise, could earplugs be included in the amenity kit?

Guest UserFinally checked into the Commune by the Great Wall, a Hyatt Centric property – specifically, the Bamboo House. This stay completely exceeded my expectations, so I'm sharing an honest review for anyone considering a visit.
The exterior features tightly packed natural bamboo poles, complemented by a black sloping roof. Walking along the forest path, you can see the building softly blending into the mountains and woods from a distance, without appearing out of place at all.
The most stunning feature is the independent outdoor bamboo tea room. Bamboo columns enclose a semi-transparent space with white sand covering the ground. Through the bamboo gaps, you can gaze at the mountains and forest. Sitting quietly and enjoying tea here creates an incredibly atmospheric experience, perfect for photos.
The public areas boast large floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the green trees outside like natural landscape paintings. During the day, light and shadows filter into the rooms through the bamboo poles, creating ever-changing scenery.
Practical Tips for Your Stay:
1. The room offers excellent privacy. It's a standalone building surrounded by dense trees, away from the hustle and bustle of public areas. It's ideal for those seeking quiet relaxation, couples on a getaway, or small gatherings of friends.
2. The building materials are natural bamboo, so there's a natural bamboo and wood scent. If you're sensitive to slight color variations or textures in natural materials, please be aware of this beforehand. The gaps in the bamboo create a soft, translucent feel; if you require ultimate privacy, simply pull down the indoor blackout blinds.
3. The hotel is located in a valley, so the temperature difference between morning/evening and daytime is greater than in the city. Remember to bring a light jacket if you plan to sit in the outdoor tea room in the evening.
4. The resort grounds are very large. I recommend driving in, as walking to and from the restaurant can be quite far. For dining, you can choose the hotel's restaurant or bring your own snacks and enjoy them in the outdoor tea room.
Areas for Improvement:
When I checked in, the room had just been cleaned, and there was still water on the floor, suggesting a rushed and less-than-thorough cleaning.
The 'Old Beijing style' afternoon tea, which looked great for photos in the lobby, consisted of pre-bought items of generally mediocre quality.

JinqiangyurourouFacilities: The kids' playground was a bit disappointing. One slide was under maintenance, and there was no trampoline, just building blocks and such – not much to play with. It was worse than what I expected from a family-friendly hotel's children's facilities.
The pool was great and clean.
The hot spring pools were also a lot of fun.
However, the outdoor area only opens at 10:30 AM and the slides close around 5 PM. In Beijing's summer, it's impossible to play when it's at its hottest; you'd get roasted. And it closes before it even gets dark. It's a bit of a shame that we couldn't fully enjoy the outdoor slide pool.
Cleanliness: Clean.
Service: Very good and enthusiastic. Kevin, our butler, helped us solve all sorts of problems throughout our stay. Many thanks to him.
Environment: Right next to Wanda Plaza, so no worries about food and drinks. It was very convenient.
The hotel lobby bar was also good, with decent standards.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! You can reach the foot of the Great Wall in just two minutes. The room was super clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. My in-laws, who were traveling with me, loved just relaxing in the armchair by the window, breathing in the fresh air, so much so that they said there was no need to even climb the Great Wall – just staying at the hotel was a treat in itself. There's also an adorable tabby cat at the hotel that loves getting belly rubs. Dining was convenient too; Yanxi Fishing Village is right in the courtyard, and the food portions were generous. After we came back from the Great Wall, we rested at the hotel, and the staff even thoughtfully brought us afternoon tea. It was such a warm gesture and really helped to wash away the fatigue from climbing the Wall. The scenery at Mutianyu is just beautiful! We'll definitely be back, and when we return, we'll stay here again and come to pet your cat once more!
