"This hotel is great, just a 10-minute walk to Kyoto Station. The front desk staff provided excellent and thoughtful service. The room was comfortable and tidy, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. I really enjoyed the public bath; it helped me wash away a full day's fatigue. The buffet breakfast was more Japanese-style with a wide variety of dishes. All in all, I'm very satisfied."

"advantage:
The location is good, the attached hand soap, body wash, and shampoo are very high-end, the room is nice and tidy, the lighting is good, and the breakfast is good (meal coupon for sandwich in the cafe next door)
shortcoming:
There is a kitchen in the room. Occasionally, there will be a little smell wafting out, maybe a few times (I thought it was us, but it wasn't), and it is a bit inconvenient to get in and out. The door can only be closed after one person takes off his shoes and goes to the entrance, and the room The key is physical, not a card, so you have to hand it to the counter when you want to go out (be careful if you don't dare to communicate with the counter)"

Outstanding
GGuest UserLocated beside the Kamo River, the scenery is stunning, and the service is impeccable. Thank you Megumi and Shoko for arranging such an unforgettable gift and hospitality. It's a hotel I would definitely stay at again.
AAnonymous UserService: Fantastic! Staff are extremely helpful and kind, thank you! We're offered welcome drink and dessert. Staff even helped to bring our luggages to the room.
Facilities: Great! Very quiet and private. Everything in the room are complimentary :)
Room: Everything's great! Onsen in room is nice!
To improve: Have more hooks/space to hang clothes will be even better. Bed is too soft to our likings. We didn't use the chair in the shower area too..

Amazing
LLiujingyanWe chose a large corner room with windows on both sides. The hotel building has a history of more than 200 years. The location is great. It is right at the entrance of Kiyomizu Temple Commercial Street. It is quiet in the bustling city. The hotel is very quiet and elegant, with high-end decoration, complete facilities and excellent service!
Breakfast is served in a library-style restaurant, which is very special. I highly recommend Japanese breakfast. Everyone thinks it is high-end Japanese cuisine when they post it on WeChat Moments. There are also vegetarian and children's meal options for breakfast. I also strongly recommend the window seat in the executive lounge. Drink Japanese tea or Japanese whiskey in the afternoon and look at the quaint buildings outside. It is worth the effort!

Amazing
GGuest UserWe took a taxi to this location because it was a little too far by bus, and we had all of our luggage with us. The location is beautiful. If you're only staying for one night like we did, then you should check in at the earliest (3:00 pm) so you can explore the local area. There are some really nice shrines nearby. We were only able to do this after breakfast the next morning. We also had to be out by 10:00 am, which surprised us because it was listed as 11:00 am on Trip.com. You will be served traditional Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast. They do an excellent job of presenting all of the dishes, and the service is also incredible. But if you're not used to eating raw fish, or traditional Japanese cuisine in general, you should definitely bring your own snacks to eat in your room! We stayed in the Garden view room with tatami mats. The staff will actually rearrange the room for you during dinner and set up your beds if you select this room. That was a very nice touch, so make sure you don't leave your room a total mess before dinner! I have added a picture of the beds after they were set up. The garden view was well worth the money we spent for it. Very relaxing and beautiful. And surprisingly enough...the tatami beds were super comfortable and warm!
GGuest UserHotel Okura Kyoto was the most pleasant surprise of our entire trip. First off, you can walk directly into the hotel from the subway. After getting off the subway, you enter a shopping mall, and the walk from the mall to the hotel has a very upscale feel to it. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming; we weren't sure how to get to the lobby for check-in from a shop in the mall, and a staff member from the shop actually escorted us there. Both the lobby and the breakfast area had a very high-end ambiance. We booked a corner king room, which offered direct views of the Kamo River. The mountain scenery was absolutely stunning, and looking out the window felt like gazing at a beautiful painting. The hotel staff, just like in a standard five-star hotel back home, helped us with our luggage, which is quite rare for the five-star hotels we've stayed at a few times in Japan. They also offer a shuttle bus service from Hotel Okura to Kyoto Station. The shuttle drivers were very polite, which was another big plus.

GGuest UserWith our family of five down the mountain near the hotel price is too expensive, we accidentally found this room type, room is large, the price is close to the people, suitable for us. To reach the front desk and room, you need to climb the stairs (may be a remodeled old building, but very Japanese style).
Since we drive by ourselves, we need to walk for3-5 minutes from the free parking space, but the luggage is large (next to Hankyu Busan Station), the handsome and beautiful staff are very dedicated to helping with the luggage to the room, and the Lobby puts a lot of Busan tourism information, (just happened to be summer festival, there are also Japanese nostalgic traditional gadgets for passengers.
Overall, the hotel is close to the residential house but the room is very large and you can see the mountain. The environment is very comfortable and quiet. The handsome and beautiful staff wrote the thank you card before leaving the store, which made us feel sweet.

Amazing
GGuest UserThis luxury boutique hotel exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail is impressive. Every aspect of the guest experience has been thought through. From check-in to check-out, we felt like VIPs. The room was as beautiful as it was comfortable. Food at the Geand Café was spectacular. Perfect location, with several several buses stopping right in front of the hotel, making exploring Kyoto very convenient. Short walk to Gion and other interesting areas. The only area for inprovement would be offering a wider selection for breakfast. It was excellent, but we wished there were additional options. Will return next time I’m in Kyoto!

Great
DDreamscomeTrueVery nice ambience and a new luxurious hotel in Kyoto close to the 清水寺。 Restaurant choices are quite limited inside the hotel complex but they have got a great spa with excellent service staff. Down the hill should be some international restaurants at Park Hyatt Kyoto another luxurious five star hotel. Breakfast bento boxes not too appetising and not much food selections for in room dining as well. But the neighbourhood was quiet and nice.

Great
GGuest UserMany reviews complained about the size of the room but my family and I liked it though. We got a triple bed room and felt that it was cosy and that the space, while limited, was sufficient. There was a coat hanger space, wall bars to hang more coats/towels and there was space for us to open our luggage as well. Was a comfortable stay and we wouldn't mind going there again if we revisit Kyoto.
The staff were friendly and efficient and they made the place feel welcoming!

GGuest UserHighly recommended.
1. The breakfasts are amazing. Looked forward to it every morning during the trip.
2. The room we booked includes 2 beds and 2 futons, I like that combination, suitable for the elderly who may have problems sleeping on the floor.
My kids also said the futon is super comfy.
3. The location is very convenient too, within walking distance to many places of interest.
4. If you prefer to have no room service during the stay, you can also opt out of room service, and the hotel will gift you a box of cookies as a replacement for that option. I like that.
5. We booked a Kaiseiki dinner one day in advance during our stay, a bit expensive, but the experience was amazing, and we had the entire restaurant for ourselves for that dinner.
But, I won't recommend booking all dinners (with the room) though, there are a lot of good meal options around the area. So definitely should explore more; must try more options in Gion as there are many amazing Japanese places within walking distance.
Overall a really good experience. Thank you.
