VVincent ValeranFrom the moment you step into the Philippe Starck–designed lobby, the hotel feels less like a place to stay and more like an immersive experience. The design is daring yet refined, blending contemporary art, dramatic lighting, and panoramic city views in a way that feels uniquely Viennese and unmistakably SO/. The rooms are stunning: sleek, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame Vienna like a living postcard. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the bathrooms feel spa-like, and every detail—from the lighting controls to the curated minibar—speaks to both style and functionality. Service is where SO/ Vienna truly shines. The staff are warm, intuitive, and genuinely eager to elevate your stay, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and personal care - A couple of named stays in mind : Claudia, Dally, etc… Whether it’s a restaurant recommendation, a special request, or simply a welcoming smile, everything is handled with ease and grace. The location is ideal—steps from the Danube Canal and within easy reach of the historic city center—making it perfect for both exploring Vienna and retreating into a chic urban sanctuary. And the rooftop restaurant and bar? Absolutely unforgettable. The views over the city, especially at sunset, combined with excellent cuisine and cocktails, create a highlight you’ll be talking about long after you leave. SO/ Vienna is not just a hotel; it’s a statement. Perfect for travelers who appreciate design, comfort, and a touch of the extraordinary. I wouldn’t hesitate to return—and to recommend it wholeheartedly.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious and very comfortable, and the breakfast offered a great variety. The hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the Belvedere Palace. Bus route 71 right outside takes you directly to the Parliament building, perfect for starting your sightseeing. There are several supermarkets nearby, including DM, Billa, Spar, and Aldi, which made it super easy to pick up souvenirs before heading home.

JJohn Vincent (JV)3 days stay in Daniel, it’s my first time for this hotel. The room is nice, stylish on design. Toilet from the door seperate from the shower next to window side, not sure if many likes that. Bed looks good but not soft, pillows are made of feathers so a little bit picking, comforter is not intact. No mini bar option, no disposable slipper. The shower is great, good flow of water. I didn’t see any attendant check my room for 3 days which is sad. Breakfast the same set up for 3 days, in restaurant staffs are not focussed, for 3x breakfast, 2x dinner, only the lady with curly hair is on point. Plants and ceiling are dusty. Bread is all day available. Reception are friendly. Popcorn all day available for free. The entire hotel has not much facilities, I just thought above floors or roof top would be a good spot on the boat.

PpassportfullofrosiesposiesThis was my second time in Vienna in a month and a half. Knowing how convenient this hotel is and how much I enjoyed their breakfast from my first stay, I looked at almost no other hotel but booked to stay here. Because I didn't get enough of Vienna on the first visit, this time I stayed for the whole week. My room was facing the courtyard, offering beautiful views of the surroundings and no noise from the traffic (my previous room had a city view). Breakfast was as good as before. To my surprise, the Sri Lankan lady recognized me! That was a good feeling, knowing that someone remembered you. My check-in was done by Ayra (if I got her name right). She was lovely; I felt really welcomed by her, not only during check-in but at other times too. When she saw me, she greeted me and asked about my day. Out of the six nights' stay, I didn't get to dine in for breakfast on two mornings as I left early at 6 am to take a trip to Hallstatt and to Bratislava on another day. The staff were kind enough to suggest a takeaway breakfast set for me, which they provided on both days! The only thing I wished could have been better on this trip was how my room was made up while I was away. On two separate occasions, the bed didn't look like it was made up but rather just by folding the blanket and placing the pillows together. The bathroom too didn't feel like it was cleaned but just by replacing the towels. Nonetheless, I still like this hotel because of the comfort, the breakfast, and of course, the location, which is of utmost importance to me when I travel. It's barely a 5-minute walk to some of the most important places - Wien Hbf, Belvedere, U-Bahn line, and many more!

YYukiLily(*´∀`*)The hotel's location is excellent! There's a bridge nearby that leads directly to the city center, and it's about a 15-minute walk to the Black Death Tower, making it very convenient for getting around. The service and facilities are genuinely great. Check-in was fast and smooth, and the staff were very polite, making me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The facilities are quite comprehensive; there's a steamer for ironing clothes, and the room has a fridge stocked with still water, sparkling water, and other drinks, which are replenished during room cleaning – a thoughtful touch. Slippers are also provided, and the bathroom amenities are well-stocked. The room size is just right. There's enough space to open a suitcase and still have room to sit and relax without feeling cramped. A nice bonus is the JBL alarm clock in the room, which can connect via Bluetooth to play music. It's perfect for listening to music when waking up in the morning or unwinding at night.

GGuest UserHotel stay was brilliant from the second we walked through the door! Reception staff very friendly and room was ready so was able to check in earlier than time stated. Room was amazing! We had a premium room 1308 which was a corner suite with 2 balconies. Was even better than I had expected. Hotel is directly opposite the Shonbrunn Palace gardens and we walked here every morning after breakfast. Breakfast was great, lots of hot and cold options. The underground is a short walk from hotel and within 10-15 mins you are in the centre of Vienna. So easy to get around on public transport.

LLambertlanboThe location seems a bit out of the way, but luckily, I'm used to long commutes in China. You need to take the light rail and then the subway to get downtown. The hotel service is decent; they lend universal adapters for free. The only catch is that you have to pay extra for a Danube River view from any room! European hotel rooms are all about the same size. There's a shopping mall downstairs, which is convenient for quick meals. Plus, there's a DM supermarket where you can buy daily necessities!

AAnonymous UserIt was close to the station and easy to walk around, even in the early morning and at night as it wasn't too dark. There was a Christmas market nearby 🎅 The bed was a loft type, so climbing up to the second floor was a bit of a struggle, but the toilet and shower were in a separate room and very clean. It's directly accessible from the airport, so I recommend staying there on days when you're going to or from the airport. There was a deposit listed, but it wasn't charged. You can leave your luggage before check-in, and I was a little worried when they let me into a room with the door left open, but it was properly locked when I checked in, and there was a system in place to unlock it by asking the hotel staff.

VVerified Member🏨🚇🥐🧼🏙️ I think the hotel is in a very well-connected area. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the main bus and train terminal and just a short metro ride into Old Town for all your sightseeing needs. The room was spacious with solid housekeeping and a clean, well-kept bathroom. No complaints regarding cleanliness — everything was taken care of. One thing to note is that the hotel is massive. We were given the very last room at the end of a long corridor, which meant it took nearly five minutes to walk to the elevator. So when you check in, I recommend asking for a room closer to the elevator, otherwise it can be a bit of a hassle going back and forth. Something that left a bad taste was only being told at checkout that breakfast would be charged as an extra. My honest tip is that if you do decide to have breakfast, just don’t mention it. With the number of guests they manage, it’s unlikely they’ll track who actually showed up at the buffet. The breakfast itself was average — your typical hotel spread. The eggs tasted a bit off, but I made it work with multiple cappuccinos from the machine, plus some sausages and toast to fill up. Overall, nothing fancy, but probably great value considering how expensive Vienna can be. Most importantly, the hotel is very well connected to public transit, with a metro station just a five-minute walk away. That line has frequent trains to and from Old Town, which made sightseeing super convenient. I’ll probably stay here again, though I don’t think the breakfast is worth the price, and I do wish they had been more upfront about the cost from the beginning. Did you find this review helpful? ❤️
