"The hotel is located in a beautiful restored traditional house on the very center of Pingyao. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked as expected. The hotel offered a few complimentary services too, such as a fish spa and a traditional Chinese costume, which made our stay a little more fun. The staff was kind and helpful.We highly recommend the Elsewhere hotel!"

"The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, clean, and the service was incredibly welcoming. Even before we arrived, the driver contacted us to arrange pick-up, making the entire journey smooth and comfortable. They thoughtfully explained the layout of Pingyao Ancient City and provided travel tips. The breakfast was also good, and they even treated us to some of their homemade vinegar! Overall, a great experience!"

"My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. "This inn exceeded our expectations! The room was spotless and offered great value for money. The five-courtyard layout has a wonderful ancient charm. The owner was incredibly welcoming, helped us with our luggage, and even provided free pick-up and drop-off service. The room was smart-equipped, and the breakfast was authentic. It was very quiet at night, and all the attractions were within walking distance. I've already recommended it to my friends!"

"It was a wonderful stay! :) The owners are a lovely family—very kind, helpful, and always happy to give advice and recommendations. The courtyard is magical, and the room was clean and free of any cigarette smell. The room had soap, shampoo, a hairdryer, a kettle, air conditioning, towels, slippers, and even earplugs (which are actually very useful, because many Chinese tourists don't seem to believe in gently closing doors with the handle—they slam them as if a war had just broken out). Sleeping in such a beautifully traditional setting was an experience in itself. I would have happily stayed longer. A note for European travelers: remember that this is a small hotel by Chinese standards. Don't be disappointed if the lanterns are made of plastic or if some of the decorations in the courtyard are a little dusty. None of that takes away from the charm of the place. I highly recommend staying here for at least two nights."

"Great hotel, very quaint. We booked a superior kang room and were upgraded to a deluxe kang room. The room wasn't huge, but the kang bed was a unique feature. The hotel itself is quite large, I heard it has over 400 rooms, and it's very photogenic. We booked a 'young madam' travel photoshoot, and the hotel grounds were perfect for it."

"Hotel location is very good, go out is the main street, eating and drinking are very convenient. . . The boss will pick up and drop off at the gate of the ancient city. "The owner is incredibly kind. They messaged us before we even arrived, offering to pick us up from the North Gate of the ancient city. The room was also really nice, and for the price, it's excellent value for money. There's a sightseeing cart right outside that can take you anywhere in the ancient city, and it's also a pleasant, short walk back to the guesthouse. The owner patiently explained how to best explore the ancient city, and even gave us a bottle of vinegar when we checked out – truly wonderful! The courtyard is also very beautiful."
