Villas Arqueologicas Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza|2.44km from Cenote Ik kil
Six people, three rooms, for two nights arrived Thursday 15 Feb. Hotel has what you need - clean and inexpensive rooms, good a/c, refreshing pool, onsite restaurant and bar, and easy access to Chichen Itza (the ”back entrance” is still closed, but the front desk will call for a taxi - 100 pesos, about $6 each way, and you can easily get a taxi back from the Chichen Itza taxi stand) The restaurant had a varied menu and very good food - we ended up eating all our meals there. Prices for lunch/dinner are a bit on the high side, but a taxi into Piste would have reduced potential savings. There is a ”meal plan” option that could have saved money, but we chose to order off the menu. The breakfast buffet is a bargain at about $11. I asked in advance to have the hotel arrange a guide for us for Chichen Itza. Mr. Bibiano was waiting promptly at 8am and we took two taxis over to the entrance. Bibi had already arranged for our six tickets so no waiting in the ticket line (have pesos for payment). There's no other way to put it - Bibi was a fantastic guide! After our morning at CI we took taxis back just as the hordes of tour busses were descending. We spent a leisurely afternoon at the pool sipping drinks and eating lunch, before heading back for the Night Show (I popped over in the afternoon to get those tickets in advance). The night show was amazing - only around 100 people and it feels like you have the place to yourself. Take note - Piste is in the Central time zone and Cancun is in Eastern so there is a 1hr difference.

We were scheduled to stay at another hotel (through Trip.com) which ended up being closed down. Rather than simply refund our money, Trip.com was VERY helpful and offered to secure another place for us, at their own expense. SO, we ended up at Hacienda Chichen. I have no words for it. The most serene, other-worldly, back to nature, classy, historic place I think I have ever visited. Exquisite is the best word for it. The grounds, the rooms, the pool, the food; it was truly a SANCTUARY. If you want a place to completely restore your soul and sense, choose Hacienda Chichen. Nothing else compares.

The breakfast is good, there is a parking lot, and the location of the hotel is great, opposite to the Tiankeng, just across the road. . When you come to the Pyramid, you must prepare an anti-mosquito spray! !!

Hotel location: Not far from the Pyramid and Tiankeng, very convenient. Hotel environment: The environment is pretty good, the rooms are average. Hotel price: It is cheap and cost-effective. Room defect: The room I live in has a back door, which can't be locked, so I use a stool to stand it up at night. Behind this door is a corridor, and there is a large window, you will see and hear service staff passing by from time to time. The bedding is not a quilt but a bed blanket.

I got what I wished for!!! Love that the hotel was closed to Chichen and fortunately for me, not too many people were in the hotel that day. I got there late, but I was helped by the manager to get into my room, jungle style resort. LOVE IT. It was pitch dark and I can only hear nature, night and day, birds singing, something that I have never experienced before. I was disconnected from the outside world. Loved the Room, loved the restaurant, loved the whole thing. I am referring friends and family in case they are going that direction. My only bad experience was that I lost my white/black diamonds ring. I must have dropped it on my way to my car, and because my room was at the end of the resort, I had to walk for about through the whole premises in the jungle, and I never found it :( Other than that, Facilities, Staff, Room and Hotel was great!!!! Loved the Mirador.

Built in 1923, it is a hotel with a sense of design and age. I lived in a superior room, the room was super big, there was no elevator, no phone, no Wi-Fi in the room, and the waiter would carry luggage. Facing the observatory, the view is superb. I specially strolled around in the hotel, many simple thatched villas are very distinctive, and the park design is also beautiful. The hotel has a small door leading directly to Chichen Itza. You can also choose a tour at 5 o'clock in the morning. You can go to the light show at night, but you have to drive around to the main entrance. I like it very much. It is the hotel where Xi has stayed. It is highly recommended.
