Several waiters at the front desk were super good regardless of the handsome guys and beautiful women. They said that they would take the trouble to ask anything. This chain hotel was well located within easy distance of a metro station and served a varied chinese breakfast plus toast and some basic muesli. Our experience travelling with a non-chinese mandarin speaker, usually an advantage was not great, it felt as though some of the reception staff went out of their way not to understand what was being said to them, whispering and laughing at the individual. This felt both rude and unhelpful as they had no English language skills themselves. Unfortunately repairs were underway opposite our room and both of our rooms were ahowing signs of damp. During our 3 night stay the lift situation which was already running at only 2 of the 4 operating reduced further to just 1 - not great in a multistorey hotel. On the positive the Housekeeping staff did a great job and there was a laundry area easily accessible to visitors next to the dining room.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is very convenient to go out for dinner and stroll around Huimin Street. It is not far from the Bell and Drum Tower. There is also a parking lot in the downtown area where you can park for free, which is really nice. The service industry is very enthusiastic and basically responds to every request very quickly. The downside is that the facilities are a bit old and the rooms don't look very new, but you get what you pay for, and the hotel facilities match the room rate.
