The room sat at 25 degrees the whole time, despite setting the thermostat at 21. The room temperature was a bit stifling so we had to keep the window open, which allowed a lot of traffic noise in. Overall, it was a lovely stay and I would recommend the hotel.

I know it is cool during summer in Xining as well but i think it is a basic requirement for aircon in a hotel. A fan is provided but i think it is not a welcome sight for a hotel with a fan.

My daughter and I were stuck in Xining an extra night due to the typhoon in Shanghai and our flight being changed so we decided to treat ourselves by staying at Sofitel. It was well worth the treat. We stayed in a club-level room and everything was excellent. Because it was my birthday the hotel even brought a small cake to our room, which was delicious! We will definitely stay at Sofitel again when we are back in Xining.

She speaks fantastic english and helped us in directions, picking up from airport, booking the trains, and when we lost our baggage in the Airport she went out of her way to help, in alloting the rooms, 10 Star service by her. amazing person and would love to visit. this charming city again and stay in the same Hotel.
