I had an awesome experience (given the situation that I was declined a room by another hotel on the pretext of being foreigner). The rooms were spacious and clean. kids liked the themes a lot. Hotel staff provided best Service, their attitude was professional and welcoming. Really felt great about my stay, would prefer same hotel in my next visit.

Great value for the price paid. The hotel is located 10 mins by car from the West Train station, and within walking distance (15 mins) to the bus station where you can take a bus to Danxia Geological Park. Also it is very close to the famous Buddha Temple. Around the hotel there are many eateries, tea and coffee shops, and a big supermarket. The amenities of the room are good. Hot shower with a good water pressure, hairdryer, kettle.

Great stopover near the airport with pickup and drop off service. The breakfast is buffet style. Too bad my flight was scheduled in the morning and I did not get to have breakfast.

The old house in Feijiang Lane is said to be connected to Li Guang. Its rammed earth walls and wooden beams and pillars retain a touch of ancient charm.
A short stay after a trip to Gansu and Qinghai. Coarse pottery complements the tea set, while rammed earth reflects the Longjiang embroidery. Chando amenities and a Laifen hair dryer are just the right touch.

Great location: walking distance from the train station. The room was big and well decorated. I enjoyed sitting on the sofa. There was great attention to detail, everything necessary was available. The bed was perfectly soft, I had a great sleep. Breakfast buffet was amazing too! The staff was very friendly.

This was the best value hotel on this trip to the Hexi Corridor. It's located next to the Leitai Han Tombs, about a 10-minute walk from Kumarajiva Temple, and a 5-yuan taxi ride to the museum. It's also convenient for dining.
Facilities: The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but security will help with luggage. The room was quite spacious. We stayed there during plumbing maintenance, and when we tried to shower that evening, the water remained murky for over an hour. We had just returned from a trip to the desert and were desperate to shower, but we couldn't wait...

The hotel is conveniently located near the high-speed rail station, just a 15-minute walk away. It's a well-known chain brand with comprehensive facilities, and the front desk service was excellent. The Lanzhou beef noodles downstairs were quite decent; I ordered a 'Rou Dan Shuang Fei' (a meat and egg combo) which was very satisfying and filling.
Facilities: My only issue was with the shower in the room. The water temperature was incredibly unstable, constantly fluctuating between scalding hot and freezing cold. I'd get about 30 seconds of hot water followed by a minute and a half of cold. This turned what should have been a 15-minute shower into a frustrating 40-minute stop-and-go ordeal. I was extremely dissatisfied!

The staff was super helpful in allowing me to check in early because I arrived from a long overnight train ride. I greatly appreciated that very much. The location of the hotel is near the railway station and there are plenty of food options within walking distance. There’s a bus stop outside and a metro station a short walk away. The room is clean and the bed is comfy. I would recommend solo travelers to stay at this hotel.

AAnonymous UserA large courtyard with a very rustic feel, very cozy, with cute cats and dogs. It was already late at night when we arrived. Thank goodness the boss for waiting for so long to help us check in. We dined here the next day. Four of us had copper pot hot pot. We were very satisfied and the seasoning was very fragrant. Tutu looked at us eagerly under the table while we were eating. It was so cute!
WWislerVery impressed with that hotel and the staff.
Good location relatively close to the fortress and on the way to the wall. Plenty of food options around and more within 1 Km around.
The staff at the reception were so helpful. No English spoken but with all the apps communication is not a big issue. It just take more time 🤔😅
The room was big. Great bathroom. A lot of space and storage available. Good air conditioning system.
Breakfast was simply delicious and every day there were different items available. Not much western food but anyway Chinese food is healthier. Staff there was lovely.
The fitness area is a bit minimalist.
Self laundry is available and works great.
I will return for sure.
A Personal tip to people visiting Jiayuguan: I suggest getting to the wall first thing in the morning after breakfast. Taxis is the only option. In July 2024 the price I paid (Meter as usual) was 26 Yuans. After visiting that place take a taxi to the fortress (Jiayu pass) as it is on the way to the city anyway. The cost was 11 Yuans and it is very close to the fortress unlike the main ticket office located 2 Km away (where the bus nr 4 stops).
Further tip if you like HotPot restaurants the NanjiaXiang is a great choice at a very reasonable price. It is 800 meters away from the hotel.
PPeterThis is a REALLY nice hotel. Unfortunately, although it is practically right next to one of the city's two train stations, the location is far from ideal. Yes, there are many restaurants close by. But Tianshui is an oddly laid out city. Look on a map and you will see two distinct parts to the city. This hotel, along with the two train stations and the airport are in the eastern city. But all the most interesting city attractions are within the west part. And the two parts are very far from each other.
Again, this is a nice, quiet, comfortable hotel. And I often try to stay at hotels near transportation centers such as train stations. The view from my room was fabulous- mountains and a train station.
But for anyone visiting Tianshui, I'd suggest you look closely at a map and take a close look at the sites within the city you are likely to visit! (To add to within-town transportation challenges, not even a single time was I able to get a ride using the normally useful ”Didi” application. This meant that it was a constant ”old school” process of trying to flag down available taxis.
Anyway, again I will emphasize, the hotel is great. It is the layout of the city itself that presents challenges that make this location difficult.
HHeong Siew YinLocation is very ideal, along a pleasant Main Street, around 5 to 8 mins walk to night market, yet away from the rowdiness of tourists. Just opposite there are convenience shops, a western bakery (Angelia) and stretch of small restaurants in an alley which are of good quality.
Front desk services are fantastic especially helpful for foreigners ( though they don’t speak English- try to use e-translator), regarding local attractions and getting a cab for you if encounter difficulties. They are genuinely helpful to try to overcome your difficulties. Special mention on Ya Jin who even asked her regular taxi driver to accompany us to buy the Mogao Grottoes tickets and arranged for a long distance taxi trip to Liuyuan South Railway station. Wang Na also offered her WeChat contact number if we have difficulties coming back at night. Really warm hospitality.
Even the hotel driver who fetched us from the airport was nice(complimentary service). The housekeepers are too hardworking.
Only complain I have is the breakfast which served exactly the same thing every morning and of limited choices. Thus Angelia bakery just opposite was really a good alternative.
CcaiflThe environment was superb, exceeding our expectations. The room, which cost just over 300 yuan, boasted five-star amenities and service. My daughter and I took the bus to Mati Temple. The hotel was still a bit far from our arrival, but the owner personally drove a Great Wall off-road vehicle to pick us up and carried our luggage upstairs. The room had a king-size double bed, a full two meters and three meters wide. The room was equipped with Xiaomi Home, and the Xiao Ai smart assistant was incredibly clever. The curtains could be opened to three-sevenths and five-eighths. In the hallway, there were photos of local wildlife taken by the owner. A family of three marmots was having a meeting, which was quite vivid. Snow leopards, lynxes, vultures, eagles soared, various birds, ******* foxes, wild wolves, ******* wild donkeys, and much more... This is a top choice for anyone visiting Mati Temple. You can stay overnight and get up early to visit the caves without having to wait in line. In the evening, you can also go horseback riding on the grasslands to the waterfall area and pick mushrooms in the forest. It's a shame we only had one night, so I forgot to take photos. I'll definitely come back next time. The boss said there is a discount for the Golden Pagoda Temple. If you stay here and do not go to the Golden Pagoda Temple and the Special Caves, you can only buy tickets for the Thirty-three Days Grottoes, and you can also take the scenic bus to see various attractions.
PPietroThe hotel in not the Mercure hotel and is abusing the name in the English version of the posting in Trip.com.
There is no sign on the hotel shovin the Mercure name which makes difficult to identify it, also because the entrance is definitely nothing like a Mercure hotel would show.
A couple of block down the street there is a hotel with big Mercure sign. I can guess this one got in trouble and now nowhere shows the brand name apart than in the catchy post on Trip, and the reception denies that they are the Mercure.
Apart of that the place is a chimney only suitable for heavy smokers and smoke preservation.
I had to go through a number of rooms to get one where I could try to breath without choking.
It is obvious that any smoke detection system is permanently disabled and therefore the place is at extremely high risk of fire.
Apart of this the place is underpriced for a legitimate Mercure hotel, but largely overpriced for the nearly 2 stars place they are.
Despite the troubles, the personnel did their best to maintain a good level of service and tried their best to accommodate, including offering free cancellation.
MMu Hong1) Thanks for providing the transfer service. Solved our problem arriving late evening for the pickup from train station. The arrangement was a bit confusing though, and we were glad it was resolved.
2) Surprised us with the free mask. Very useful for the Ming Shan Hu. Also, thanks for the free rental of shoes.
Great place to stay and highly recommended.
2205986****Stayed here with friends, and we were thoroughly impressed by the excellent value for money – truly a great quality-to-price ratio. The place was clean and tidy, the environment quiet, parking was convenient, and they even had EV charging stations. Every staff member was incredibly warm and attentive. The front desk kindly upgraded our room and even included complimentary breakfast, which made our experience even better. A special shout-out to the hotel staff for recommending some absolutely delicious 'Hongliu' lamb skewers and hand-pulled lamb ribs – they were fantastic! We'd definitely stay here again if we get the chance.
AAnonymous UserChecked in on New Year's Eve. Two wind towels were given as a gift when I checked in. I took a photo of it specially because it was my favorite color, hehe.
Cleanliness: The room was surprisingly clean. No weird smell.
Facilities: Free toiletries are provided. The bathroom is spacious. The eco-friendly slippers are comfortable, but you can’t take them away.
Environment: Entering the hall, it is cozy, warm and the heating is very good.
Service: The beauties in the lobby are enthusiastic and warm.
To emphasize, heating is very good in winter. The bedding was clean and tidy. We stayed for two days and went out to the scenic spot on the second day. They cleaned and tidied the room without any request.
It is convenient to eat. There is an authentic beef noodle restaurant opposite the hotel, a convenience store next door, and a large supermarket around the corner, which is open on New Year's Eve. A perfect trip to Dunhuang! Dunhuang of the world, where my heart longs for!
GGuest UserThe hotel room and amenities are excellent. The facilities are new and the overall vibe is pleasant. Unlike hotels near the train station, there aren’t many good dining options nearby. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood- close to a local park, Dafo Temple and the Zhangye Museum. A nearby restaurant we managed to find which we highly recommend i was 洋蔥歺厅.
