A very satisfying stay! The hotel is conveniently located, the rooms are clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, and the staff is warm and attentive. However, daily cleaning could be more thorough, and some supplies needed replenishing after a two-day stay. It's very close to the Shazhou Night Market, where you can go shopping and dining in the evenings. It's also not far from Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Lake, making it very convenient.

The hotel looks really nice and will look great on anybody’s instagram. However, I had a room on the first (ground) floor and these should be avoided by anybody caring about privacy. One of the windows opened on the courtyard and the other opened on an alley, at street level. Anybody walking by inside or outside had a direct view inside the room.

Good value and location for the most part. The hotel is a bit old and it shows in small things like hard-to-close doors. The main issue for us was the AC - it didn’t work consistently (it beeped with an error message after running for 5 mins on repeated tries whenever we changed the temperature or fan speed). We ended up turning it off the entire night and just opened the windows. We arrived close to midnight by train so didn’t ask to change the rooms.
The hotel is located on the main street and is very noisy with cars coming and going in the middle of the night. The coffee at check-in is a plus and the breakfast is also good. Of course, the hotel is only part of Longnan. The scenery in the city is more important. The Vientiane City is crowded with people, especially children. The scenery of the Yao Village along the river is pleasant.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming; their warm smiles alone are enough to make me choose this place again. It instantly brightened my mood, and I genuinely highly recommend it to everyone!
The hotel located near to the tourist spot. The hotel offers a very good free transfer around the city area. When walked out of the hotel building, the driver came out and asked where I was going and then gave e a left.
The staff members are very helpful with any kind queries.
The only problem is the the room does not have good sound proof. People stayed next to my room talked loudly till 2.30am of which disturbed my sleep very badly.

Facilities: The amenities are relatively new, recently renovated, and quite comfortable, although the hairdryer wasn't very powerful.
Cleanliness: It was very clean and tidy.
Service: The staff on duty the night we checked in were great. However, the staff the next day had a poor attitude when communicating. We came back late on the second day, and parking was inconvenient. I asked the front desk if we could park in a reserved spot, but they refused, and their attitude was also quite poor.

Excellent hotel with good hygiene. The air conditioning is individually controlled, so you can adjust the temperature to your liking, unlike radiators which can get too hot. Any issues in the room were promptly resolved by the front desk.

AAnonymous UserA large courtyard with a very rustic feel, very cozy, with cute cats and dogs. It was already late at night when we arrived. Thank goodness the boss for waiting for so long to help us check in. We dined here the next day. Four of us had copper pot hot pot. We were very satisfied and the seasoning was very fragrant. Tutu looked at us eagerly under the table while we were eating. It was so cute!
GGuest UserWe were four friends living together. The whole room was very spacious, the decoration style was very nice, and there was a small balcony outside. It was also relatively quiet when sleeping. The service attitude was also great. The boss lady was very nice and made us coffee. The breakfast variety was also very rich. There were also many apricots in the yard. The boss lady picked a lot for us. They were delicious and we ate a lot. When we left, we went to eat, so we called a car ourselves. As a result, the driver of the car we called had a very bad attitude. The boss lady immediately called a brother to take us to the place where we ate, which provided us with full emotional value. It was great~!

GGuest UserMany restaurants across the street. But grocery store is about 1 km away. Room was a bit dusty in the corners. Service was good, and breakfast was excellent. The menu is by far the best we had on our 8-day trip on the silk road. Room was good and per advertised on Trip. But I would recommend the hotel install a few hooks in the toilet / bathroom to make it more convenient to change clothes.
WWislerVery impressed with that hotel and the staff.
Good location relatively close to the fortress and on the way to the wall. Plenty of food options around and more within 1 Km around.
The staff at the reception were so helpful. No English spoken but with all the apps communication is not a big issue. It just take more time 🤔😅
The room was big. Great bathroom. A lot of space and storage available. Good air conditioning system.
Breakfast was simply delicious and every day there were different items available. Not much western food but anyway Chinese food is healthier. Staff there was lovely.
The fitness area is a bit minimalist.
Self laundry is available and works great.
I will return for sure.
A Personal tip to people visiting Jiayuguan: I suggest getting to the wall first thing in the morning after breakfast. Taxis is the only option. In July 2024 the price I paid (Meter as usual) was 26 Yuans. After visiting that place take a taxi to the fortress (Jiayu pass) as it is on the way to the city anyway. The cost was 11 Yuans and it is very close to the fortress unlike the main ticket office located 2 Km away (where the bus nr 4 stops).
Further tip if you like HotPot restaurants the NanjiaXiang is a great choice at a very reasonable price. It is 800 meters away from the hotel.
PPeterThis is a REALLY nice hotel. Unfortunately, although it is practically right next to one of the city's two train stations, the location is far from ideal. Yes, there are many restaurants close by. But Tianshui is an oddly laid out city. Look on a map and you will see two distinct parts to the city. This hotel, along with the two train stations and the airport are in the eastern city. But all the most interesting city attractions are within the west part. And the two parts are very far from each other.
Again, this is a nice, quiet, comfortable hotel. And I often try to stay at hotels near transportation centers such as train stations. The view from my room was fabulous- mountains and a train station.
But for anyone visiting Tianshui, I'd suggest you look closely at a map and take a close look at the sites within the city you are likely to visit! (To add to within-town transportation challenges, not even a single time was I able to get a ride using the normally useful ”Didi” application. This meant that it was a constant ”old school” process of trying to flag down available taxis.
Anyway, again I will emphasize, the hotel is great. It is the layout of the city itself that presents challenges that make this location difficult.
HHeong Siew YinLocation is very ideal, along a pleasant Main Street, around 5 to 8 mins walk to night market, yet away from the rowdiness of tourists. Just opposite there are convenience shops, a western bakery (Angelia) and stretch of small restaurants in an alley which are of good quality.
Front desk services are fantastic especially helpful for foreigners ( though they don’t speak English- try to use e-translator), regarding local attractions and getting a cab for you if encounter difficulties. They are genuinely helpful to try to overcome your difficulties. Special mention on Ya Jin who even asked her regular taxi driver to accompany us to buy the Mogao Grottoes tickets and arranged for a long distance taxi trip to Liuyuan South Railway station. Wang Na also offered her WeChat contact number if we have difficulties coming back at night. Really warm hospitality.
Even the hotel driver who fetched us from the airport was nice(complimentary service). The housekeepers are too hardworking.
Only complain I have is the breakfast which served exactly the same thing every morning and of limited choices. Thus Angelia bakery just opposite was really a good alternative.
GGuest UserAs always I'll rate the hotel I stayed at relative to the cost incurred. So is it value for money?
Location : The location could not be bettered. It is the closest hotel to the Mati Grottoes. Maybe a 500m walk away.
Service : Very good, very friendly ! Welcoming and efficient on arrival. Took food orders for delivery at lunch and dinner (which helped a lot as in Winter all the restaurants in the village were closed)! And also helped me buy snacks in the afternoon (as the usual stores in the village were closed during Winter).
Bedroom : Basic however with 2 beds (comfortable and clean) and a I really liked the sunny alcove with two seats and a table, to sit and drink tea/coffee (bring your own!).
Bathroom : small but most importantly hot water and plenty of it ! The toilet is Western style not a squat (phew - good for my old knees!)
Breakfast : was provided but as I don't often eat breakfast I can't comment further.
You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel, it's a basic Chinese hotel so don't get expectations up, however it is great value for money, clean and has everything you'd need for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again !
GGuest UserThe hotel in not the Mercure hotel and is abusing the name in the English version of the posting in Trip.com.
There is no sign on the hotel shovin the Mercure name which makes difficult to identify it, also because the entrance is definitely nothing like a Mercure hotel would show.
A couple of block down the street there is a hotel with big Mercure sign. I can guess this one got in trouble and now nowhere shows the brand name apart than in the catchy post on Trip, and the reception denies that they are the Mercure.
Apart of that the place is a chimney only suitable for heavy smokers and smoke preservation.
I had to go through a number of rooms to get one where I could try to breath without choking.
It is obvious that any smoke detection system is permanently disabled and therefore the place is at extremely high risk of fire.
Apart of this the place is underpriced for a legitimate Mercure hotel, but largely overpriced for the nearly 2 stars place they are.
Despite the troubles, the personnel did their best to maintain a good level of service and tried their best to accommodate, including offering free cancellation.
FFacu31We arrived by train after a long journey and were warmly welcomed with a transfer service to the hotel, which we found to be both professional and efficient - booking it just one day in advance was all it took. Check-in was quick, and to our pleasant surprise, we were given a room upgrade.
The room was clean and fully equipped, including a selection of drinks and personal care items available for purchase. Although we didn’t use any of them, we appreciated the added convenience of this thoughtful service.
We were also assisted throughout our stay via chat by a kind and helpful assistant who responded promptly to all our inquiries, in addition to the excellent service we received at the front desk and the thoughtful gestures extended to us.
We made good use of the amenities included in our reservation, such as desert shoes and face-covering buffs, as well as the transfer to the hotel. We’re also bringing home two beautiful souvenir camels that will now travel the world with us!
Thank you once again - we would be delighted to stay here again if we ever return to Dunhuang.
