I had a wonderful stay at the place. It's clean, simple and not busy or noisy. It's so close to the center of Georgetown area and the nightlife without being too centre. The staff, especially Junaid, is very nice and helpful. Thanks. It's worth the money, I'll definitely come here again.
this is a cosy little hotel. it's in a nice location and eothin steps to local bus stop and a short walk to komtar bus terminal too. i do like the hotel but i do have some sincere suggestions to hotel operator to make this hotel a little nicer next time.
1. the indian livehouse next door does pump loud music from 10pm-2pm. hotel should try a thick curtain on the windows to absorb the sound. sound absorbing curtain are inexpensive if buy direct from china.
2. hotel staff should replenish toilet paper daily in common toilets. instay there 6 days and notice they do so only every 2 days.
3. all the pillows are super high and hard ones. toilet should purchase some medium height softer ones that guest can ask upon request.
thank you
The front desk staff were very polite, and the room was clean. However, the soundproofing was quite poor. My room had a window facing the corridor, and I could hear people loudly opening and closing their doors. I think booking a room with an external window would offer a much better experience.

I booked this hotel for friends, and they really enjoyed their stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Everything went smoothly with the check-in, and the location was convenient. I'm happy with the choice and would book it again
I'm not sure what to think about this hotel. It has all the essentials (water fountain, ironing board, hairdryer), but the room is poorly soundproofed – you can hear almost everything from outside the windows. There's no elevator, and you have about 10 steps to climb plus more steps to even enter the hotel (which is tough with suitcases and bags). The common areas are extremely hot, and there's no luggage storage (though it was mentioned in the listing, we just didn't see it). On the positive side, the location is great, and check-in was fast. Thanks!
We had an amazing stay at Gather Inn in George Town, Malaysia. The hosts were absolutely brilliant — so attentive, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The room was spotless, with great facilities and everything maintained to a really high standard. The air conditioning was fantastic, which made such a difference in the heat and kept the room super comfortable. The location was also perfect: very close to the centre and all the main attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet area so we could get a great night’s sleep every night. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting George Town!
The location is great, lively, but I didn't hear any street noises while sleeping.
The cleanliness was so-so; there was hair on the bed, and no toilet paper in the bathroom.
The Wi-Fi was infuriatingly bad, absolutely terrible, and the staff knew but didn't fix it. Surprisingly, the Wi-Fi signal was better in the shopping mall (this hostel is located in a shopping mall, hence the description). In other words, the Wi-Fi signal was better outside the hostel than inside the mall!
Also, because it was self-check-in, contacting staff was sometimes difficult; many people were waiting at the door for a reply.
Originally, it was for two nights, but it was changed to one night.
It's a bit far from George Town's main attractions, so it's really quiet at night. It's about a 10-15 minute walk, but it gets too hot during the day. 😂 You need to wear slippers inside. There's a water dispenser with hot and cold water. You can temporarily store luggage in the waiting area, and the self-service laundry room is a great plus! 👍🏿 The operating hours are from 3 PM to 10 PM (this was for another room type I booked, which I felt wasn't as soundproof).
Let's start with the praise. The location is perfect for those who wants to venture and walk around Georgetown. Perfect for food hunters, just a few steps to famous eateries.
Amenities were pretty standard where you have to ask for it eg hairdryer. Ironically, an iron and ironing board is provided in the room instead. It's time to change the pillows too.
Now comes the bad. We booked a family room and it was big with 2 queen beds. However the location of the aircon is really a mystery. I cannot phantom why it was placed in a hidden slot in the middle of the room, blowing towards the wall instead towards the bed. The second queen bed couldn't feel the aircon at all. I sincerely hope that the management would relocate it.
Other than the aircon, we enjoyed our stay. Will we come back? Maybe.
The accommodation is in a tourist area, so food is readily available as soon as you step out. It's also close to the bus terminal, making travel convenient. The room is a bit small, but it wasn't uncomfortable for a solo traveler. They provide a hairdryer, drinking water, shampoo, toothbrush, and towels. No adapter is needed for the power outlets. The accommodation feels safe, especially for women traveling alone. Overall, it's good, and I'd stay here again if I have the chance.
Very Good

RRonin tanThe overall experience of my stay was great. The hotel environment was quiet, and the room decor was simple but very comfortable. The bedding was clean, and the hygiene was excellent, making for a very reassuring stay. Every day, coming back to the room felt relaxing, without any pressure.
The hotel's surroundings also offered great amenities. There were many food stalls and restaurants nearby with a wide variety of choices, all at very affordable prices. There was no need to specially take a ride to find food. Whether it was for breakfast, lunch, or a late-night snack, meals were easily sorted.
With its convenient location, clean environment, and high value for money, it was a very satisfying accommodation experience. If I'm ever in this area again, I would consider staying here once more.
GGuest UserFor travellers who travel by train, the location is excellent, walkable to the train station. Why walk when you can get a grab car easily? To walk off all the rich food we eat!
The hotel is also within walking distance to the ferry terminal (Penang Sentral). So if you arrive via ferry from Georgetown, no problem! I walked to the ferry terminal to take a ferry to Georgetown!
Adding to the convenience, there is a supermarket and self service laundromat near the hotel.
The hotel has a lift, which is convenient, if you are assigned a higher floor. No need to carry yourself and your luggage to your room. But no chance to work off the extra calories. I'm not complaining, though
Reception is 24 hours. I had to leave very early as I had an early train to catch, but was able to collect back the RM50 deposit. Oh yes, RM2 was collected during check in. Trip.com had informed me at the time of booking, so this is not a surprise to me
The room that was assigned to me is spacious. The bathroom is well laid out. Shower on one side, WC on another side and sink in the middle. Shower gel was provided. Shampoo was not provided. It might be because the gadget for the shampoo container was broken.
I booked a windowless room. But because it was spacious, I did not miss not having a window. I paid a higher price for my room, I don't know why my receipt showed a much lower price.
In summary, I would stay in this hotel again if I go again to Butterworth

1: Aircon lobby - such a welcomed relief when coming in from the hot and humid weather
2. The hotel's room rated
3. My room rate, which is different from what I had paid in advance to trip.com
4. Door to the bathroom
5. Above the WC, racks for drying wet stuff, very hardy
7.The missing shampoo container
6.The ceiling of the lift - pretty and classy
8. Don't lose your receipt. You need it to claim back your deposit
9. The supermarket nearby
10. The laundromat
GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.
GGuest UserThe young girl staff very polite and friendly
I feel touch
The location is very conveniently
Outside from the hostel just opposite there has many of restaurants and shops
It has different types of food and desserts
The price is reasonable
It’s quite clean
Call grab is convenient also
I think I will be back again
AAnonymous Userthe location is 💯
cleanliness wise not so desirable but well it’s more like a budgeted hotel with not so budgeted price 😂
layover for a night so so far so good
AAnonymous UserFor my first time, I chose this place.
- The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was cool.
- All the essentials were provided: microwave, cold and hot water, tea, coffee, and a shared hairdryer at the front.
- The bathroom had soap and shampoo.
- The Wi-Fi was good. I was quite impressed! The fact that you use a code to enter the room instead of a keycard or physical key is excellent and very modern.
- The location is good, making it easy to walk to food options. 7-Eleven and Family Mart are close by and within walking distance.
