MMuhammad_Ali_HashemiCertainly! Below is a **detailed, balanced, and constructive review template** for **Hangoutspacez Queensbay** (or a similar budget/co-living space in Penang). Since this isn’t a widely documented property, I’ll structure it generically so you can adapt it based on your actual experience.
---
### **Hangoutspacez Queensbay – Honest Review**
**Location: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- **Pros:** Close to Queensbay Mall (5–10 min walk), easy access to restaurants, supermarkets, and public transport. Convenient for business travelers (Bayan Lepas tech zone) or tourists exploring Penang’s south.
- **Cons:** Not in the heart of tourist spots like George Town (requires Grab/taxi).
**Cleanliness: ★★★☆☆** (3.5/5)
- **Pros:** Daily cleaning for common areas; linens provided are fresh.
- **Cons:** Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., slow drain in showers, worn-out furniture). Budget vibe—don’t expect luxury.
**Facilities: ★★★☆☆** (3/5)
- **Pros:** Free WiFi (decent speed), communal kitchen, and lounge area. Good for solo travelers or digital nomads.
- **Cons:** No gym/pool; shared bathrooms can get crowded during peak hours.
**Staff & Service: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- Friendly and helpful for local tips, but limited 24/7 front desk support.
**Value for Money: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- Affordable for Penang (around RM50–100/night for dorms). Ideal for short stays, but may lack long-term comforts.
**Room for Improvement:**
1. **Better Soundproofing** – Noise from common areas can be heard in private rooms.
2. **More Power Outlets** – Limited charging points in dorms.
3. **Clearer House Rules** – E.g., quiet hours or kitchen cleanup policies.
**Verdict:**
A **no-frills, social budget stay** best suited for backpackers, solo travelers, or those attending nearby events. Manage expectations—it’s functional but not luxurious.

### **How to Use This Review Constructively:**
- **If You’re a Traveler:** Compare with alternatives (e.g., Tune Hotel, capsule hostels). Prioritize location vs. price.
- **If You’re the Property Owner:** Address cleanliness/maintenance, add clear signage for rules and maybe create any accessible lockers available to utilize the space in the efficient manner.
GGuest UserI'm not sure what to think about this hotel. It has all the essentials (water fountain, ironing board, hairdryer), but the room is poorly soundproofed – you can hear almost everything from outside the windows. There's no elevator, and you have about 10 steps to climb plus more steps to even enter the hotel (which is tough with suitcases and bags). The common areas are extremely hot, and there's no luggage storage (though it was mentioned in the listing, we just didn't see it). On the positive side, the location is great, and check-in was fast. Thanks!
RRonin tanThe overall experience of my stay was great. The hotel environment was quiet, and the room decor was simple but very comfortable. The bedding was clean, and the hygiene was excellent, making for a very reassuring stay. Every day, coming back to the room felt relaxing, without any pressure.
The hotel's surroundings also offered great amenities. There were many food stalls and restaurants nearby with a wide variety of choices, all at very affordable prices. There was no need to specially take a ride to find food. Whether it was for breakfast, lunch, or a late-night snack, meals were easily sorted.
With its convenient location, clean environment, and high value for money, it was a very satisfying accommodation experience. If I'm ever in this area again, I would consider staying here once more.
GGuest UserFor travellers who travel by train, the location is excellent, walkable to the train station. Why walk when you can get a grab car easily? To walk off all the rich food we eat!
The hotel is also within walking distance to the ferry terminal (Penang Sentral). So if you arrive via ferry from Georgetown, no problem! I walked to the ferry terminal to take a ferry to Georgetown!
Adding to the convenience, there is a supermarket and self service laundromat near the hotel.
The hotel has a lift, which is convenient, if you are assigned a higher floor. No need to carry yourself and your luggage to your room. But no chance to work off the extra calories. I'm not complaining, though
Reception is 24 hours. I had to leave very early as I had an early train to catch, but was able to collect back the RM50 deposit. Oh yes, RM2 was collected during check in. Trip.com had informed me at the time of booking, so this is not a surprise to me
The room that was assigned to me is spacious. The bathroom is well laid out. Shower on one side, WC on another side and sink in the middle. Shower gel was provided. Shampoo was not provided. It might be because the gadget for the shampoo container was broken.
I booked a windowless room. But because it was spacious, I did not miss not having a window. I paid a higher price for my room, I don't know why my receipt showed a much lower price.
In summary, I would stay in this hotel again if I go again to Butterworth

CCindy Tan Swee HwaThe room was pretty good, but it was a shame there was only one pair of pillows and they were too soft. I forgot to take photos, but the overall experience was still quite good. The location is also convenient for getting around, though parking spaces are a bit limited.
GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.
GGuest UserThe young girl staff very polite and friendly
I feel touch
The location is very conveniently
Outside from the hostel just opposite there has many of restaurants and shops
It has different types of food and desserts
The price is reasonable
It’s quite clean
Call grab is convenient also
I think I will be back again
GGuest User- Location is strategic
- Cleanliness is good, all plug points can be used and wifi connection is strong too.
- limited parking space,
- Self check-in, owner will give you instruction before you arrived.
- feels like home.
- good place to stay.
HHooi SinI stayed at Mode Inn Icon City for 1 night and had a pleasant stay overall. The hotel's biggest strength is undoubtedly its location. With numerous restaurants, cafés, convenience stores and other amenities within walking distance, everything I needed was easily accessible. The convenience of the location is likely one of the main reasons for its popularity and room rates.
The room was clean and equipped with the essential amenities needed for a comfortable short stay. The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, and the overall check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle-free. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
While the hotel was generally well-maintained, some parts of the property showed signs of age and regular use. This did not affect my comfort during the stay, but guests expecting a newer or more modern hotel should manage their expectations accordingly.
The room size was the main drawback. Even though I booked the largest room category with a window, the room was still quite compact. It was perfectly suitable for a solo traveller staying one or two nights, but couples or guests with multiple pieces of luggage may find the space rather limited.
At approximately RM150 per night without breakfast, the pricing is slightly on the higher side for a 2-star hotel. However, considering the strategic location and overall convenience, I can understand why the hotel remains a popular choice among travellers.
