This hotel is a relatively large garden hotel in the city, and the facilities are pretty good. Online reviews are mixed, some good, some not so good. Since we were having a family gathering in Suzhou for Chinese New Year, we decided to stay here. The room facilities were decent, and we had a view of the swimming pool from our window. The hotel was fully booked for the holiday, so parking in the garage was very tight. The decor might be a bit old-fashioned; the ventilation fan and light in the bathroom shared a single switch. It was quite cold taking a shower in winter as the fan couldn't be turned off, and it was right above my head. The hotel's environment is lovely, with many picturesque spots for photos. The breakfast area, lobby, and coffee shop particularly left a strong impression. However, the Chinese restaurant's food was quite ordinary.

Still a Gem – Shangri-La Nanjing When I booked, I was a bit worried about the hotel's age and potential for outdated rooms and facilities, but my stay proved those fears completely unfounded. Before check-in, I received a pleasant pre-arrival call. The lobby is spacious and grand, and the front desk service was quick and enthusiastic. The room's layout, decor, and amenities were all impeccable (unfortunately, I didn't take many photos to show everything). The Horizon Club's evening offerings were also excellent, with a good selection of braised dishes. My only regret was that it rained for three consecutive days, making Xuanwu Lake outside the window look perpetually hazy. Overall, I highly recommend it (based solely on my experience in room 3418 this time). Minor drawbacks: * The bottled water in the room was Purejoy, which was quite unexpected. * The showerhead in the bathtub wasn't particularly convenient for single use. * Although my room shouldn't have been near the elevators, I occasionally heard faint, elevator-like sounds (though very slight).

I stayed at this hotel for my birthday and had such a great experience. They upgraded me to a suite, which was clean, beautiful and incredibly spacious. When I arrived, they had a thoughtful birthday setup waiting for me, complete with a cake and a sweet “Happy Birthday” display, which I truly appreciated. They also gave me lovely souvenirs from the city, which was such a nice touch. The staff were warm, helpful and always ready to assist. Breakfast was included and offered a good variety of Western options. The view from the room was amazing and made the stay even more special. The location is also very convenient, right next to a plaza with plenty of food options to choose from. I would absolutely stay here again.

A special thanks to Mr. Lu for helping us upgrade our room when the hotel was almost fully booked (Ctrip room upgrade benefits aren't always guaranteed!). The young lady at the front desk who checked us in had a lovely smile. She warned us that breakfast might be crowded the next day due to the high occupancy and even offered solutions. The room made excellent use of space. The bathroom door, when pushed inwards, doubled as the shower door (two functions, one door!), and there was a clothesline inside the shower. It also had a desk with a lamp. The only minor flaw was a rather large gap when the door was used for the bathroom, and the showerhead position needed some attention. I'd suggest improving the shower curtain placement; it shouldn't be on the outside (near the bed), especially for a twin room. The Mercure's location is excellent, very close to the entrance of Dongguan Street (roughly where the purple circle is marked). There's a small window on the river-view side, perhaps at the door of room 11 on each floor, offering a glimpse of the river, which made up for not booking a river-view room. (The small window on the 3rd floor didn't offer much of a view, it was too low and blocked by trees.)

Towards the end of my holiday, I chose the tallest hotel in Nanjing. The hotel provided a room on the 67th floor with a view of Xuanwu Lake and Zijin Mountain. The most striking feature inside was the large circular bathtub. Before this, I had already traveled to Shanghai during my third year of junior high school, dealing with work all the way, and was quite tired. For dinner and breakfast, I opted to dine at the hotel. Dinner was at the Summit restaurant on the 76th-77th floors, mainly featuring Huaiyang and fusion cuisine. It wasn't as salty as typical Nanjing dishes, and the cold dish with scampi was a highlight. The restaurant's main hall faces south towards Xinjiekou. Breakfast was at the coffee bar on the 45th floor, available from 9 AM to 7 PM. You could access the observation deck with your room card, which offered views to the north: Zijin Mountain, Jiming Temple, Xuanwu Lake, and the TV tower. The duck blood vermicelli soup and baked flatbread were very Nanjing in the breakfast spread, and the rest was typical InterContinental – very rich and varied. My only minor gripe was that the fruit station didn't have the cucumber sticks and juice often found at the Shanghai InterContinental; I had to get a bowl of cucumber slices from the salad bar. I visited the independently operated heated pool and gym after dinner, but it was quite crowded due to Chinese New Year, so it wasn't particularly enjoyable. I then explored the mall next door, which was pretty much as described by Nanjing local media. The only new development is that Sunrise Duty Free is setting up shop on the first floor and is currently under renovation. In a nutshell, my review of the hotel is: Majestic and awe-inspiring! Facilities: Everything you could need. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: A unique experience. Even with a strong gale outside at night, there was no howling sound once the ventilation windows were sealed. However, before 9 PM, you could hear outdoor loudspeakers from the nearby park or square, which was unavoidable – the entire city acts like a giant amplifier. Service: Warm and thoughtful, with appropriate boundaries, which I personally find more important.

This hotel truly lived up to the expectations I had after comparing so many options. My stay was incredibly satisfying! The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for sightseeing. The room was spacious and bright, and all the amenities were complete and clean. The smart devices were user-friendly and made everything so much easier. The front desk staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly warm and attentive. When I needed something delivered, they responded very promptly. The environment is quiet and comfortable, and they even lend out umbrellas if it rains – truly excellent!

Compared to the beautiful scenery of Yangzhou in springtime, Shangri-La's service left an even deeper impression on me. Especially Ms. Sun Rui, the Guest Relations Manager, who contacted us in advance to understand our itinerary. Upon learning I was traveling with two elderly individuals, she promptly upgraded our room and even helped arrange a late checkout for their comfort. She proactively assisted us with everything from dining to transportation. Both my parents were full of praise for the hotel's service. We'll definitely visit again if we get the chance! 🌹🌹

First off, a huge shout-out to the concierge team! We stayed for 4 nights with a three-year-old, which meant a lot of preparations. We had diapers delivered to the concierge for safekeeping, and then ordered takeout daily. The concierge team, seeing we had a child, not only gave us gifts but also helped deliver our takeout to the room – we were incredibly touched! Our butler, Cindy Zhou, concierge Vancs, and the cleaning aunties were all incredibly responsive to our every request. We really put everyone out! The housekeeping staff who brought us humidifiers and air purifiers were also fantastic, and the fruit and drink replenishment was always spot-on! Even though the weather wasn't ideal, the service we received was absolutely top-notch.

The location is easy to find, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The front desk staff was very welcoming and upgraded our internal room to a larger, street-facing room with a big window for free. The room was spacious, clean, and the bedding was comfortable. Breakfast was just okay! I only found out after I checked out that there was a surprise blind box selection; I wasn't informed about it during my stay.

XXihuanwanbaleI chose the Nanyuan Hotel specifically for a comfortable, relaxing, and unique experience with my parents, wanting to try out a garden-style hotel. Overall, the experience was pretty good. I think this hotel is perfect for those who haven't really experienced Jiangnan gardens before, or for older guests: ✅ Excellent location: Wangshi Garden is just 50 meters across the street. You can take a direct bus to Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, and Lion Grove Garden, or a taxi in about ten minutes. Shiquan Street is right next door, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing. ✅ Well-equipped rooms: The rooms are very spacious, and the wet/dry separation in the bathroom is excellent. Although the overall facilities are a bit dated, they are very well-maintained and clean. The water pressure is strong, and all toiletries are L'Occitane, which was reassuring to use. ✅ Pretty good breakfast: The breakfast spread was quite extensive, including Suzhou specialties like pan-fried buns (shengjianbao), plain noodles (yangchunmian), and pastries. I highly recommend the pan-fried buns – I thought they were especially delicious. What surprised me most was that the hotel breakfast offered Yakult and Jianchun milk, both of which I love to drink [Drinking milk tea R emoji]. ✅ Tranquil garden setting: The scenery is truly beautiful! It's a very traditional Jiangnan garden style. The concierge ladies at the hotel were also incredibly friendly and enthusiastic when explaining the attractions to us. Many of the people listening to the explanations were elderly uncles and aunties, and they seemed to really enjoy it. We even received a souvenir fan when we checked out. ❌ A few things that bothered me about the hotel: 1️⃣ The TV in the room only showed channels; you couldn't cast content to it. 2️⃣ The mini-bar in the hotel is not free, so be careful not to drink anything impulsively 😭. 3️⃣ I stayed in a family room, and the small bed was a sofa bed, not a proper single bed, so it wasn't super comfortable, but it was acceptable.

__CFT010000001094****## Environment: The hotel is located right by the Qinhuai River, so you step out straight into scenic views – it's beautiful, there's great food, and a lively atmosphere. We booked a street-view room, which admittedly was a bit noisier, but we had such packed days that we slept soundly every night, so it wasn't a major issue. ## Room: The room included complimentary fruit upon check-in, two facial masks daily, and small drinks in the mini-bar. The lighting in the room was a bit dim; it would have been much better if there was a brighter main light or a desk lamp. ## Service: I really want to commend the service. Even before we checked in, the hotel called to ask if we needed to reserve a parking spot and our approximate check-in time. They proactively sent the hotel's location to ensure we wouldn't have trouble finding it in the scenic area, which was very thoughtful. After we checked out and left, we realized at the airport that I had lost my bracelet. I contacted the hotel to help check the room, and the staff were incredibly efficient and diligent in finding it. They quickly arranged for it to be couriered to my home. I am truly, truly grateful – it brought a perfect end to my Nanjing trip! 🌹

MMD2024This time, I stayed at Mo Keyuan from August 14th to 15th. When I was choosing a hotel, I was quite surprised to see Mo Keyuan had nothing but glowing reviews. After staying there, I realized that both its facilities and service are indeed exceptional. **Ambiance & Location:** In terms of its location, it's merely 50 meters from Pingjiang Road, and within comfortable walking distance of Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Suzhou Museum. It's also nestled in the same alley as the famous Zhuo Lin Li Tang Zhou (a traditional dessert shop), just 20-30 meters away, and shares an adjacent alley with Couple's Retreat Garden. This geographical positioning is simply superb! The hotel itself is a numbered private garden with five interconnected courtyards, boasting exquisite rockeries, ponds, and bridges. Its design is incredibly intricate, offering distinct scenic views with every turn. Guanhuatang, a key hall, is the central room in the innermost of these five courtyards. The front desk is located in the first courtyard, exuding an antique charm. Upon entering the second courtyard, you're greeted by a misty, ethereal atmosphere, providing a refreshing coolness on hot days and adding a wonderful artistic touch. The third courtyard houses the banquet hall, while the fourth and fifth are dedicated to guest rooms. In reality, this compound is far more complex than it appears, with the unique asymmetrical structure typical of Suzhou gardens revealing many delightful surprises. **Cleanliness:** Everywhere I looked was impeccably clean. Unlike other Chinese courtyards I've stayed in, at Mo Keyuan, all areas (except guest rooms and staff offices) are openly accessible. Furthermore, the furniture inside is exceptionally well-maintained and clean, giving the impression that they are actively used daily. The rooms were subtly pre-scented with incense, and the bathrooms were also spotless. **Facilities:** Mo Keyuan boasts comprehensive facilities, offering both dining options and captivating Pingtan (Suzhou storytelling and ballad singing) performances. Guests can enjoy these performances for free, held in a charming small hall in the second courtyard, which serves as both a restaurant and a performance venue. The performance hall is very well-equipped, featuring background projection and automatic stage curtains, truly showing great attention to detail. Furthermore, before checking in, I was somewhat concerned about security. However, upon arrival, I found that the visitor and guest areas are effectively separated by access control, ensuring both privacy and safety. **Service:** The service was incredibly attentive. The butler was always ready to answer any questions and had an excellent, friendly attitude. Every staff member had a great service attitude and was remarkably patient. Due to a last-minute change in our itinerary, we only decided quite late that we wanted to have lunch at Mo Keyuan the next day. However, the butler arranged it perfectly, and we got to savor the Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish and Crab Roe Tofu we had hoped for. The hotel's shuttle service was even more convenient, saving us precious time and effort when visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, and Lion Grove Garden. We also had the pleasure of meeting the garden owner this time, who was very approachable and clearly poured their heart and soul into managing this exquisite garden. **Daily Pingtan Performance (2 Tickets):** The Pingtan performance was excellent. The young lady sang beautifully and spoke with such gentle grace; experiencing the 'Wu Nong Soft Language' (Suzhou dialect) live was truly delightful. The performance also included complimentary Biluochun tea and homemade mung bean cakes, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I'm extremely glad I chose Mo Keyuan this time. My only regret is not being able to stay an extra night to spend half a day simply wandering around the garden, sipping tea, watching the fish, and relaxing – that would have been utterly tranquil and perfect.

YYangdabaodebao001I picked this hotel at random and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The infinity pool was absolutely amazing! We'll definitely be back in the fall/winter seasons, and the kids had a fantastic time. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and even the toothbrush and toothpaste were of excellent quality. MM47127****My top choice for business trips! The hotel is conveniently located, very close to my workplace, saving a lot of commute time. The room has excellent office facilities, with comfortable desk and chair, and stable internet, making work incredibly efficient. The soundproofing is great; you can't hear any noise even in the corridor, ensuring a quiet environment for both work and rest. Check-out supports quick invoicing, the process is smooth, and the service is professional and efficient. It offers much better value for money than other hotels in the same price range. GGuest UserThe place is beautiful. The rooms/cottages of the hotel are spread around a nice area. There is a vegetable garden and kids could feed the goats and rabbit. My kids loved the hotel and the room. Front desk gave us kids slippers and toothbrushes and a bag full of treats and snacks for the kids. Beds were very comfortable and the family room was beautiful with a balcony looking to the canal. Black swans swimming in there. The private outside hot bathtub was cool. They gave us some activity tickets (kids cookies baking, two free coffee cups and free entrance to the park beside), sadly we couldn’t use them, because we came noon and went to visit a different area , then left the next day after breakfast. The outside hotel surroundings are nice and peaceful. The food was great! Breakfast buffet is delicious. I would recommend it. There was a staff speaking English, but was not necessary for us. The service is very good and friendly…I’ll return.

The room included breakfast, and I highly recommend the douhua (tofu pudding) – it was delicious. The location is also fantastic; you can walk to Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Suzhou Museum, as they're all close by. The high-speed rail station and subway are also very convenient, though a taxi might take about half an hour due to traffic.
