Berthauli RositaWe are a family of three with one child, and we stayed at this hotel for four nights.
When we first arrived, we had a little difficulty finding the hotel because the entrance looks like a traditional Chinese architectural building, making it easy to overlook. However, the moment we stepped inside, we were amazed by the stunning lobby. The interior is magnificent, featuring elegant Chinese Ming Dynasty-style architecture that creates a luxurious and authentic atmosphere.
The hotel's location is perfect, right in the heart of the Fuzimiao Pedestrian Street. Although the area outside is lively and bustling, the soundproofing inside the hotel is excellent. Our room was peaceful and quiet throughout our stay.
The room was spotlessly clean, and the amenities were complete. We especially loved the shampoo and body lotion—they smelled wonderful and were of excellent quality. Every day, the hotel also provided complimentary fresh fruit, snacks, and cold drinks, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The hotel offers a self-service laundry room with ironing facilities, as well as a small gym, both of which were very convenient. The only thing we missed was an AI room with the Xiaodu voice assistant and delivery robot, which some modern Chinese hotels provide.
The staff were warm, friendly, and always greeted us with genuine smiles. I found myself taking countless photos in the magnificent main lobby because it is truly breathtaking.
Besides being located on Fuzimiao Pedestrian Street, the hotel is also within walking distance of several famous attractions, including the Confucius Temple and the China Imperial Examination Museum.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nanjing.

Guest UserChecked into Suzhou Nanfang Hotel on the 9th, and my overall stay was outstanding. The hotel itself is a garden-style state guesthouse, offering an elegant and tranquil environment. My room was clean and quiet, and the location is also excellent. There was a minor incident during breakfast that initially caused some unpleasantness, but the restaurant staff reacted quickly and genuinely. They addressed the issue promptly and professionally, communicating patiently and thoroughly throughout, resolving the problem efficiently. My initial bad mood was completely appeased, and I enjoyed the rest of my meal. Their willingness to confront issues and provide warm, effective solutions truly showcases the service quality of a long-established high-end hotel. The minor hiccup doesn't detract from the overall experience; I am very satisfied. Special thanks again to the front-line staff and management at both the restaurant and front desk 🌹. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou. Highly recommended!

I originally booked a Classic Room package. The front desk staff suggested upgrading to a Balcony Room, which is 30 square meters larger, for an additional 500 RMB. I took their advice, and after comparing, I think it was worth it because not only did I get more space, but also a large balcony and double breakfast. The room was high-ceilinged and cool, the air conditioning was comfortable, and the mattress was very pleasant. There were many books in the room to browse. The bathroom had a double vanity, but I was a little disappointed that not every sink had both hand soap and lotion. The left sink had hand soap, and the right one had lotion. So, if you wanted to wash your hands, you went to the left sink, and then to the right sink for lotion after washing. The two sinks were quite far apart with a large bathtub in the middle. I hope the hotel can be a bit more generous and provide both items at each sink, which would be much more convenient. From the moment I entered the hotel, the service felt like I was entering my own home. There were complimentary snacks, and the tea served was also good. All the staff greeted me with proactive smiles. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but everything was high quality, though there's room for improvement with the Western pastries. This trip, I specifically went for the noodles at Su Mian Fang. The service and taste were absolutely incredible, though the price was a bit on the high side. I wanted to eat them again. I'm not sure if it's because I rarely eat Su noodles and am therefore less knowledgeable, or if they truly are considered a delicacy among Suzhou noodles. Additionally, the hotel's environment is very Suzhou-like, and it's located by the lake in front of the Gate of the Orient.

The top choice for a night tour of Qinhuai in Nanjing! The four-season king room at the Nigh Park Qinhuai Junting Hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely fantastic, just a short walk to Fuzi Temple and the Qinhuai River, offering a tranquil escape right in the bustling area. The room itself boasts a new Chinese elegant and grand style, with a spacious and airy feel. The KingKoil mattress ensured a sound sleep, the bedding was skin-friendly, and the soundproofing was excellent. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, L'Occitane amenities, a Dyson hairdryer, and a complimentary mini-bar – every detail was meticulously thought out. Opening the window reveals the illuminated riverbank, and in the evening, leaning on the railing to watch the boats pass by creates an incredible ambiance. The service was gentle and attentive, check-in was efficient, and the breakfast was exquisite and delicious. If you're coming to Nanjing and want to fall asleep to the sounds of oars and the glow of lanterns, this is absolutely the right choice.

Huazhu She · Suzhou Moke Garden Cultural Hotel
A hidden gem near Pingjiang Road, this hotel boasts a garden with a history spanning several centuries. Guests and casual visitors are separated by an electric privacy gate, which effectively safeguards privacy. Initially, I was concerned about mosquitoes, but my worries were unfounded. Aromatic mosquito repellents are placed everywhere in the garden; they are effective and not overpowering. The staff also regularly check and replace them.
The hotel offers complimentary cultural performances for guests. With only 12 rooms, guests enjoy undisturbed peace. I stayed in 'Guanhua Hall', which was advertised as 45 square meters but felt more like 50+. The interior design eschews modern minimalism in favor of authentic garden-style rosewood furniture, meticulously restored from an old mansion. Every corner of the room was impeccably clean, a testament to the owner's exceptional upkeep. At my age, I truly appreciate this kind of classic ambiance.
The butler service was also superb – highly responsive and incredibly attentive. A shuttle service is provided for both arrival and departure, and the breakfast, a healthy home-cooked meal, was absolutely delightful.
This hotel is truly a place to slow down and quietly immerse yourself in the experience – a serene oasis in the heart of the bustling city.

Anonymous User⭐ Suzhou Shantang Shuxiang Mansion | Prime Location, But 5-Star Quality Doesn't Justify 5-Star Price (3-Day, 2-Night Honest Review)
📍 Location: ★★★★★ (Irreplaceable)
✅ Right in the heart of Shantang Street scenic area (No. 88 Shantang Street). Step out and you're on the ancient street, perfect for exploring and dining.
✅ Quiet yet central: Outside, it's the bustling city life; inside, it's a Suzhou-style garden with white walls, black tiles, and flowing water – incredibly atmospheric.
✅ Convenient transportation: About a 7-minute walk to Shantang Street Metro Station, making it easy to get to attractions like Humble Administrator's Garden and Tiger Hill by taxi or subway.
🏡 Facilities & Environment: Garden is a plus, details are a minus
✔️ Highlights: Converted from a Ming and Qing dynasty guild hall, with a Chinese courtyard and carved window frames – great for ancient-style photos; rooms are individual villas, offering good privacy.
❌ Drawbacks (unacceptable for a 5-star hotel):
• Facilities are a bit old (renovated in 2016), with some furniture wear and tear and aging fixtures. Lacks the refinement of a 5-star hotel.
• Cleaning blind spots: Dust in corners, obvious water stains on bathroom glass; encountered a cockroach on the first day (promptly handled, but still unpleasant).
• Soundproofing is average: Street-facing rooms can hear street noise, so it's not absolutely quiet.
🛎️ Service: Good attitude, but lacks professionalism
✔️ Basic service is up to par: Bellhops help with luggage, smooth check-in/check-out process; free Pingtan performances in the afternoon, and Hanfu experience available by reservation.
❌ 5-star service shortcomings:
• Slow response: Calling the butler/front desk often results in a wait of over 15 minutes, with no proactive greetings or follow-ups.
• Lack of detail: No turndown service; breakfast selection is limited and quality is average, lacking the variety of a 5-star buffet.
💰 Value for Money: Location seriously overpriced, quality doesn't match the price
• Room rates are approximately 1200-2000 RMB/night. The core premium comes from its rare location within the Shantang scenic area.
• Compared to other 5-star hotels at the same price point (e.g., InterContinental, Marriott), there are significant gaps in facilities, service, and dining. It feels more like a high-end garden guesthouse than a luxury hotel.
✅ Summary & Recommendations (Expert's Honest Opinion)
Suitable for:
• Travelers seeking an immersive Jiangnan garden experience in a prime location, with a generous budget, who prioritize atmosphere over facilities.
• Those who enjoy ancient-style photography, exploring Shantang Street, and prefer not to rush around.
Not suitable for:
• Business travelers or quality-conscious guests who expect standard 5-star service, refined facilities, and absolute privacy/quietness.
• Travelers seeking high value for money and unwilling to pay a high premium for location.
In a nutshell: Irreplaceable location, but not truly 5-star quality. Choose based on your needs, and book rationally.

Yangdabaodebao001I picked this hotel at random and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The infinity pool was absolutely amazing! We'll definitely be back in the fall/winter seasons, and the kids had a fantastic time. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and even the toothbrush and toothpaste were of excellent quality. These small details really show how much thought the hotel puts into its guests' experience.

Guest UserThe place is beautiful. The rooms/cottages of the hotel are spread around a nice area. There is a vegetable garden and kids could feed the goats and rabbit. My kids loved the hotel and the room. Front desk gave us kids slippers and toothbrushes and a bag full of treats and snacks for the kids. Beds were very comfortable and the family room was beautiful with a balcony looking to the canal. Black swans swimming in there. The private outside hot bathtub was cool. They gave us some activity tickets (kids cookies baking, two free coffee cups and free entrance to the park beside), sadly we couldn’t use them, because we came noon and went to visit a different area , then left the next day after breakfast. The outside hotel surroundings are nice and peaceful. The food was great! Breakfast buffet is delicious. I would recommend it. There was a staff speaking English, but was not necessary for us. The service is very good and friendly…I’ll return.

The room was clean and tidy, and the butler service was very attentive. Upon check-in, they recommended the 99 Gold Card, which allowed us to upgrade to a newer room type. The herbal tea in the lobby smelled lovely, and I enjoyed the unique incense. Being close to the subway station made getting around very convenient.
