First of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator.
So there will be different check in counter.
Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door.
Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult

The hotel is conveniently located right next to The TOP, Penang's iconic circular skyscraper, making it easy to navigate back to, especially during evening strolls. Directly opposite is the GAMA supermarket, and next door is 1st Avenue Mall. There are also plenty of restaurants across the street, offering great convenience for shopping and dining. A 10-minute walk to the right will lead you to several durian shops, New Lane Hawker Centre, and the Sun Yat-Sen Museum. Turning left, you can walk to the famous Street Art area, which isn't just about murals; every corner is photo-worthy, and the shops are fantastic for browsing, truly capturing the essence of Penang. The hotel breakfast selection isn't extensive, but it's sufficient. The noodle bar offers various delicious options, and I also tried the freshly made roti with dipping sauce, which was quite good.

Anonymous UserHighly recommended! I almost didn't book this hotel as I read the negative reviews. That would have been a regrettable mistake. Thankfully I realised that all the recent reviews have been glowing. I loved my stay at Sunway Hotel and everything was perfect. The bathroom was spotless and seemed very new. I really liked the pomelo-scented bath gel; and they even provided Colgate toothpaste! There were ample hangers and hanging space for everything. I was very happy with the large luggage bench - even a 30' bag would fit comfortably. There was a full-length mirror in the spacious room, and an iron and ironing board were also provided. I was also very glad for the excellent free parking facilities onsite. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Penang!

PetrelHad a fantastic stay! The room was spacious and very comfortable. The free parking was a huge bonus. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Unlike other hotels that offer a welcome drink, Sho Hotel provides a complimentary coffee/tea/orange juice every single day. If you stay for several days, you get several drinks – it's such a thoughtful touch! I'd redeem mine every morning before heading out, and the staff would put it in a to-go cup for me to take with me. Absolutely delightful! ❤️
Sho Hotel will definitely be my first choice next time I visit Penang!

Overall, it's decent for the price. However, there's a noticeable difference between the OZO in Phuket and this OZO in Penang. The location is in George Town, but on the northern side near the sea, meaning it's over 1km away from most major attractions, restaurants, and durian shops.
The staff weren't as friendly as in Phuket; checking in felt like doing business at a government office. We booked three deluxe twin rooms, but they were assigned to two different floors.
The hotel has nowhere to dry clothes, and even the hangers are semi-fixed in the wardrobe.
At night, you can hear music playing, which affected our sleep (especially the bass).
Since we had a child, we requested an extra bed, but the extra bed didn't come with a proper duvet, only a very thin blanket.

Anonymous UserThe room was quite spacious, but it was incredibly noisy at night. Our room, 1207, faced the street, and the sound of motorcycle engines was very loud, making it difficult to sleep. The air conditioning in the master bedroom and the exhaust fan in the bathroom were also very noisy; you could hear a clear difference in a video I took when they were on and off. Sleeping with the AC on was too loud, but sleeping with just the fan was too hot, and combined with the noise from the motorcycles outside, I really didn't get good rest. I tried to change rooms, but was told they were fully booked, so I had to stay there for three nights. Since it's an apartment, there was no bottled water. The bathroom only had a single, very basic all-in-one shower gel/shampoo. You'll need to bring your own toothpaste and other toiletries, so keep that in mind if you're planning to stay here.

Steve WOur stay at Citadines Connect was fabulous. It was really quiet yet the location was nice and central (near lots of sights and great food places). We were lucky enough to be in block B which faces another building so there was literally no traffic noise and we barely noticed other travellers because of the insulation between rooms. The bathroom was very clean and serviced daily beautifully. The staff helped us a lot when trying to book our next steps of our journey to Ipoh. Finally, the infinity pool was a dream, particularly because we had it all to ourselves! Nothing quite like listening to the call to prayer while floating in a crystalline pool 4 floors you. This hotel was the best - highly recommended.

Anonymous UserViews are really good. Overall experience ok but there is no lift from carpark to lobby, only staircase.. recommend to drop luggage before going down to basement carpark else you have to carry up which is quite inconvenient
Another downside is soundproof not really good. Especially when the crew cleaning room beside, we can hear the vacuum and some noise early in the morning around 8-9am 😔

ilonka-zExcellent hotel location. The fully equipped kitchen, ironing board with iron, and hairdryer are all available. If you need anything, you can contact staff via WhatsApp, and it will be delivered quickly. The room was clean and spacious. Nice pool and jacuzzi, plus a well-equipped gym. Upon check-in, we were asked for a 200 RM refundable deposit, but only in cash. We had a pleasant stay.

Pros: infinity pool, spacious flat, responsive customer support. Our flat had a sea view but also view on a cemetery, which isn’t mentioned so flagging it as some people may be sensitive to it. They provide towels but would suggest guests to bring their own if they plan to go to the swimming because asking for additional towels is at an additional cost.
Cons: A/C in common area is shut off from 5pm to 8/9am the following day, so it feels very stuffy. Whilst I’m pro energy savings and sustainability, I think this is too extreme. Perhaps, worth considering extending A/C operations time to 8/9pm to 7/8am to make it more comfortable for residents and guests. Also the flat we rented was advertised for 9-10 pax, but it only fits 8 max. It didn’t bother us because we were only 6 but making a note here for awareness
Note: If you’re a durian lover, this place doesn’t allow you to bring some back to the flat. We found out too late, otherwise we would have gone to a different place
