4-Star Hotels in Leiria District, Portugal

My wife and I stayed here one night, traveling with another couple. The location’s proximity to the sights of Nazare is superb! A short walk to the beach and area restaurants as well. The property is clean and well maintained with modern rooms and amenities. Our room had a good view of the beach and the funicular track. The breakfast options were plentiful, something for everyone. There is underground parking on the premises, but if you have a larger car (as we did for four adults and luggage), the turns are tight and most spots have a column to negotiate. We enjoyed our stay, and would book here again.

This hotel is very good. The location is good, near the beach with the car and not so far from bigger cities like Leiria or Figueira da Foz. The breakfast was very good and the bar near the swimming pool was also good. I will probably go back there !

AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOUR FROM THE UK. WORST HOTEL EVER. WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE IT 1 STAR. WAS FORCED TO LEAVE AFTER 2 NIGHT THIS HOTEL DO NOT LIKE THE ENGLISH. Staff do not speak English and make you feel like your from another planet. I am well traveled and book 10 nights at this hotel and was forced to move after 2 nights. Booked through Love Holidays and they were useless there was no help and their contact number abroad gets you through to people in India and they say they will help but hang up on you through the call and the hotel don’t care about your concerns. This Hotel is not a proper all inclusive the food is not labelled so you don’t know what you are eating so if you have allergies like us be aware. The food is not edible I have pictures and will add them if I can. Adult and Kids selection is none existent and they don’t even have chips the meat again is not labelled my daughter didn’t eat apart from bread rolls. Pictures are off breakfast first thing in the morning, would not even give to my pet and kids selection none existent and not labelled. Staff are not friendly and the hotel is full of rude locals with no manners they push and shove it’s worst than awful. There was not one English person there. Breakfast is 7.30am and the staff were not even set up at that time the receptionist had to open. Same goes for the spa opens at 8.00 again no one around. If you want a drink after breakfast there is no where to get one until 11.30am the bar is near the reception so a mission to get to if you go to the water park which is not part of the hotel. So kiosk there you have to pay extra for. Main restaurant for breakfast, lunch Dinner is a mission it’s in the main building and you can only get to it from a unsafe wooden stairs or a small lift. The place does not look like the pictures it’s run down. The hotel DOES NOT HAVE IT’S OWN OUTDOOR POOL, they are falsely advertising the only outdoor pool is the water park which is very small and as all the public are there it’s cramped with everyone on top of each other, the entertainment is part of the water park nothing to do with the hotel. I asked the hotel for towels and they would not let me have any for the outdoor sun beds and they said no as it’s not part of the hotel, I even offered a deposit and again I got a no. The in pool they advertised is not a proper pool it’s shallow spa. I got an email just before my holiday saying it can only accommodate 40 people at a time and you have to wear a swimming hat it’s mandatory and to top it you have to make an appointment and you are only allowed an hour in there. No games room. Gym is a joke. If you are going on holiday for the whether this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU, i went in august it rained for most of the time, it’s windy and cold really depressing. England is warmer, it’s like this all the time. Rooms are basic no complementary toiletries. Would not even give this hotel a 1 star. Entertainment does not start till 9.30pm not suitable if

Our family of 5 adults stayed at Hotel Senshoras Rainhas for two nights over Christmas 2023. We had two rooms in the basement level. One of the double rooms was comfortable enough with an outdoor patio overlooking the wall. The other room was not. Same size as double with an extra bed for a triple. A bit crowded to move around the room. The doors leading to the outside patios were double french style with the tilting top. In the triple room, the additional single bed somewhat blocked full access to the doors. By moving the bed over, one of the doors was able to be opened slightly. The first night, we were not able to correctly close the door to lock. It appeared to have a problem with the top tilting hinge. We slept with the door unlocked. Reported the problem to the front desk. We were assured the problem would be addressed. The second night the door was closed and locked properly, however after we opened the door we incurred the same problem as the night before. Again slept with the door unlocked. Unfortunately, both days, in the triple room, the toilet tissue was not enough. On the second day, the front desk was asked to have housekeeping added more toilet tissue in the room. The request was accommodated, but not in enough supply. The second night we ran out of toilet tissue again. The toilet tissue rolls were very small. Parking was a problem with our luggage not near the hotel. Somewhat narrow cobblestone streets with inclines and depending which parking lot was used, a number of steps were involved to reach the hotel. The hotel offered no assistance with the luggage or reasonable alternative to unload luggage. Since it was the holidays (Christmas Eve & Christmas Day) we made arrangements to have dinner at the hotel. What a waste of money. The first night the soup was at best room temperature. The lamb was dry with no sauce. The alternative fish was not much better. It was a fix menu. The next night the menu was the exact fix price menu from the night before. This time the soup was warm, the dry lamb was soaking in sauce and the fish was still dry. It looked like we were served leftovers from the night before. Do not recommend eating in the hotel restaurant. Very disappointing and not worth the cost. The hotel is a poor example of a 4 star hotel. It is within the walls of Obidos. Good location, but the hardship to unload luggage is not worth the effort. The rooms are small and attention to details is lacking. Simply not worth the cost or the effort to stay at this hotel. The restaurant was very disappointing and not worth the cost. There was no live music as noted on their website. We were offered a limited fix price menu as the only option. The second night we were served what appeared to be leftovers from the night before. Save yourself $$$ and stay somewhere else.

I really recommend this place. This price for breakfast... The hotel is old, but clean and the desk staff is very friendly. It would have taken 2 hours to take the train from Óbidos to Lisbon, but they told me that there was only one bus. Oh my goodness, there was a bus stop 1 minute away from the hotel. Google directions don't tell me this. Anyway, I almost went to Lisbon after calling an Uber and taking 2 hours, but I took the bus in front of the hotel and went to Lisbon in 1 hour. I totally recommend it. One night in a heritage city. It's great.

Maybe this is a hopping place in peak season but in Spring, not so much. Rooms are fine, clean comfortable. Men and women must purchase a rubber swimming cap to wear in the pools (?!). The property is spacious with good parking. Families with kids would do well here with the pools and room to roam. The restaurant and bar were never open. Breakfast is fine but a huge spread for not many guests. We came from the city to the country for peace and quiet. Now the dogs….. We were serenaded from 10pm to 4 AM by loud, dogs just next door, barking incessantly but with brief pauses that made you think they were done barking. We could not sleep. Internet was intermittent and could not seem to be fixed even though the wireless access point was right outside our room. It is a beautiful if impractical spot for tourist business and probably best suited for conferences or Spa customers. Staff was very nice, very helpful and listened attentively but did not fix the problems with the internet and reassured us that dogs are very popular in Portugal and barking day and night was expected.

The mini apartment was great .... big comfortable beds, nicely equipped kitchen area and spacious lounge. All clean. Couldn't have asked for more especially at the orice. Really impressed.

Nice business hotel with all you would expect to find in a 4*. rooms are large, clean, silent and above all, can be made very dark for the night, which I ADORE. There's a secured parking and a little gym which guests are free to use. Breakafst has a wide choice of good food (icluding eggs and bacon). Staff i snice and professional

Second stay here, last one 2 years ago and delighted to say still superb. Standards are high from the first contact with reception staff, special mention to Tania who could not have been more helpful and charming. The staff go out of their way to give you the best stay. The manager took time out to talk to us and her attitude to guests and her own staff shines. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you for everything. (Irish coffee)Evening meal and breakfast were excellent also. We will be back again. By the way she said yes😁

Margarida Baptista Leite 2/5 5 minutes ago on Google Este hotel não é de 4 estrelas. Fiquei lá uma noite, através de um voucher Odisseias. Paguei mais um pouco por um upgrade, mas em nada compensou esse gasto. O quarto que nos foi atribuído, embora aparentemente razoável, tinha bastante pó nas mesas de cabeceira, não tinha tomadas elétricas suficientes, ou seja, tivemos que desligar candeeiros para poder carregar os telemóveis e uma das toalhas de banho estava rasgada. De referir que, normalmente num hotel de 4 estrelas, também oferecem um roupão e chinelos durante a estadia e não foi o caso. Para além disso, ficámos num quarto que ficava num piso equivalente a um 3° andar e não havia elevadores naquela ala do hotel. Fora as questões com o quarto e o acesso ao mesmo, tivemos de marcar uma hora para usufruir da piscina interior. Qual não foi o nosso espanto, quando chegou a nossa hora de usufruir estavam mais 6 pessoas lá! (A piscina interior não é grande, por isso, o facto de haver 8 pessoas a usufruir ao mesmo tempo, fez com que ninguém conseguisse nadar nem estar completamente à vontade). Juntando a isto, a mobília da esplanada junto à piscina exterior, estava suja, com teias de aranha e não tinha sequer uma almofada para dar algum conforto. Finalmente, e a cereja no topo do bolo desta experiência, fizemos ums reserva na receção na altura do check-in, para jantar no restaurante do hotel às 20h30. Ora, quando lá chegámos, o empregado informou-nos que devido a uma falha de comunicação da receção, eles não tinham tido conhecimento da nossa reserva e, portanto, só haviam 2 pratos disponíveis e nem sequer tinham entradas. De positivo, apenas o staff que foi sempre simpático e disponível, mas com muito pouca autonomia para tentar melhorar a situação. Enfim, uma experiência muito àquem da expectativa e um hotel que não merece as 4 estrelas.

This hotel met all my expectations for the ancient European hotel: the house needless to say, the historical building, the furniture is any 18th century, the decoration is very antique, for me this nostalgia is very strong people undoubtedly full of attraction. The breakfast ceremony is full of sense, the food quality is fresh and delicious, the food is very satisfying, the staff are elegant and generous, warm and thoughtful. Needless to say, the hotel environment is exquisite and beautiful. The pool brings us a lot of happiness and leisure. Of course, this old hotel can't be satisfied every week because the room is not big, such as no coffee tea can be self-service at any time, but it feels very lucky to be able to live in the town medieval festival. The guests here are also very elegant and tasteful, very pleasant! Hopefully I can come here again.

The hotel parking lot is very small (only 7-8 parking spaces on the roadside, coordinates 39.363078, -9.156986), parking is difficult. Please contact the hotel before departure to confirm the route to the city, so as not to catch it. For our stay in April 2019, only the Porta do Vale ou Senhora da Graça gate can enter the city, then turn right, follow the R. do Cel. Pacheco road to the top and then turn right, continue for 50 meters until There is a parking space under the castle. The front desk is in the garden at the end of the road. There are signs that can't go wrong. When leaving the city, first return to the entrance of Porta do Vale ou Senhora da Graça, then turn right (Graça gate can only enter the city, can not leave the city), south of the city wall all the way to the Portal de Óbidos gate (the gate Can only go out of town, can not enter the city), and then out of the city. There may be many steps from the parking space to the hotel room. It is recommended that older or infirm people arrange the front desk baggage helper (please pay the appropriate tip. For reference, if we have two large luggage, we will pay a 5 Euro tip). The 24-hour front desk staff is warm, professional and satisfied. The interior facilities of the room are in line with the website description and are comfortable. Satisfied with the waiter cleaning, emptying the trash, changing towels and making the bed in the daily room. The shower hot water is very good, no worries. No slippers in the room, please bring your own. The hotel restaurant view and service are very good. Rich breakfast and high quality. Beautiful dinner. The lounge is very comfortable and don't forget to enjoy it. There is a hidden door in the restaurant that leads directly to the top of the castle, so you can climb the high view and not miss it. Before the arrival of the early morning tide of Obidus and the retreat of the evening crowd, the light is soft, quiet and full of the original taste of the ancient city, which is worthy of sweeping the street. The inner city is not big, there are only three main streets in the north-south direction, and it takes only 1-1.5 hours to walk around.

I’ve never had so many mixed feelings about a hotel! I love reading so when I saw this hotel is all about books, it seemed the perfect hotel for me. The staff is just lovely, and we had dinner in the restaurant which was the best meal I’ve had during our trip (order the filet mignon and thank me later). The halls are shabby with old stained carpet but you only walk past that. The room however….. I loved the books and the vibe they tried to create, but the bed was cheap and the sheets were stained. The bathroom was sooo old, it needs to be remodeled right away. I’ve seen pictures online and think some rooms are renovated a bit and some aren’t and we just weren’t lucky. We only spent one night there so I just stayed up very late so I didn’t have to sleep in the bed too much and skipped the shower. The hotel has a lot of potential, the restaurant is fantastic and the staff is great, they should renovate the rooms so you don’t pay a 4-star price for a 2-star bedroom. Again I want to make it very clear the staff is excellent and the food amazing!

They exchange messages to know how stay is through whatsapp, we can ask for cleaning, repair, etc.

There are positives and negatives to staying at the Pousada Vila Obidos. To their credit, this is a very nice micro-hotel that is situated in an unusual place - Obidos. It is virtually in the shadow of a castle and the old world flair of this town makes it very special. The hotel itself is pretty and nicely appointed. Breakfast is the highlight of this hotel. Now for the not so good... The hotel is not accessible by car so you need to be aware that you will have to carry all your baggage up a pretty steep cobblestone path and several steps to the front door. We did not know this until it was nearly too late to make other arrangements / cancel. We did receive an email during our travels with a ”warning” but it seemed too late. We arrived during a rain storm, so the cobblestones were quite wet and slippery. The room was not completely clean with a used bottle left behind. Also, there is a cat (or cats) on the property that followed us everywhere. My husband is extremely allergic. Had we known there was a CAT on the property, at the breakfast area, and allowed to jump on the chairs and tables in the dining room we would never have booked here. Sorry, we were disappointed and itchy.
