Hotels in Beijing Railway Station, Jianguomen and Guomao Area, Beijing

This guesthouse, tucked away in a hutong, is the former residence of Edgar Snow and perfectly captures the old Beijing hutong charm. I stayed at Beijing Zhong An Hotel for three days, and my overall experience was excellent. The hotel staff were warm and attentive; one of the service guys even helped me carry my luggage to the room. During my stay, I saw many foreign guests, which created a great atmosphere. The breakfast, especially, was a highlight. It was a Western and Chinese buffet with a rich variety of authentic dishes, catering to both Chinese breakfast preferences and Western light meals. The hotel's location is also superb, close to Beijing Railway Station. There's a small alleyway from the hutong that leads you to the hotel in about a hundred meters, and it's also very near Tiananmen Square, making transportation incredibly convenient. Overall, it's great value for money and highly recommended.

The hotel upgraded me to a newly renovated room, which was great. The location is also excellent, and both the new and old sections of the hotel are equally good. I also enjoyed the ice cream – very nice! I'll definitely choose Hotel International again next time I'm in Beijing. Just as I love Beijing, I love these classic, older hotels even more.

The room was a bit small, and the window was actually fake. They said it was located near a corridor or walkway, but I doubt there are many rooms, if any, that actually have a window showing the sky. While there weren't any bad odors, the bathroom wasn't very clean. I had originally planned to stay longer, but I checked out after one night and found another place; I just couldn't stay there. Next time, I hope the platform provides clearer information to avoid discrepancies between the hotel's efforts and guest expectations, which isn't ideal.

This is a very good choice for a family hotel, two large beds, big room and nice sized bathroom. Location is excellent only 1 min to Beijing Railway station metro. Shops and restaurants 100m outside. Close to Wangfujing, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven etc. The morning breakfast is incredible. At least 10-12 selections, then dim sum and hot pot. Coffee and pastry section, large seating area with spacious seating. I don't think its possible to find a better breakfast at this price point. For those a little adventurous there's a barber in the Hutong less than 3 min away for authentic Chinese barber experience, inquire at reception. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Use a language app to figure out laundry settings. Overall wonderful experience with a suprise gift from the hotel on checkout.

The hotel is great, and the location is superb. Everything is convenient nearby. Especially the hotel staff, their attitude is excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is thoughtful and meticulous. I just have a small suggestion: I hope the hotel can learn from Atour Hotels and provide seating for the front desk staff, in response to social calls. Employees need to balance work and rest; appropriate breaks during work hours will enable them to provide even better service. I hope the hotel can pay attention to this detail.

The young lady at the front desk during the day was incredibly enthusiastic. My husband and I, two seniors, had two large suitcases, and she helped us carry them downstairs. She even waited with us for our ride-hailing car and helped us load them in. We really can't thank her enough! The location is great; turn right out of the main entrance and there's a delicious Shunde restaurant. The food is fantastic! The hotel's location is truly excellent, though the only drawback is the lack of an elevator.

On the 4th floor, the room was a bit small for the price, but I guess that's common in places like Beijing where space is at a premium. It was very convenient for getting around, with the subway station just a 2-minute walk away. The soundproofing wasn't great though. There were some kids making a lot of noise late into the night next door, and people heading out for the flag-raising ceremony at 2 or 3 AM were chatting loudly in the hallway, and I could hear everything in my room.

It’s situated opposite the Beijing railway station and there is a subway station round the corner from the hotel, which we find super convenient to get about. It’s line 2 on the subway and it’s only a few stops to Qianmen so it’s really quite central too. The hotel itself is superb, from staff service. Cleanliness and comfort. We are a family of 4 with two grown up children and 1 King size bed with 2 single beds arrangement room is very hard to find. This hotel not only fulfil this, they also have 2 separate toilets, 2 shower cubicles and a bath. The room is super spacious. The buffet style breakfast has a wide selection of choices and it runs from 6 to 10:30am during weekdays and to 11 am at weekends so it suited people who need to wake up early for further excursions and people who wants a lye in in the hotel’s comfy beds. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to use this hotel again if we are to come to Beijing again. In fact we are already looking for Howard Johnson chain for our next trip to Chengdu😍

Extremely satisfied with my stay. Great value for money. It's located in a hutong near Jianguomen, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by various government institutions. Although it's a bit of a walk to the subway, it's perfectly fine if you primarily rely on taxis. The Mingyuan restaurant downstairs, popular with celebrities, often has long queues during concert seasons; otherwise, it would be a decent spot for a simple meal. However, about a minute's walk away, there's also a Sichuan restaurant run by the Sichuan provincial office in Beijing, which is another excellent option. Regarding the accommodation, the front desk and the guest building are separate. Besides the doorman, you need to use a key card to access the guest building and use the elevator. If you return late at night, you have to swipe your card again downstairs. Also, food deliveries and packages aren't allowed inside and must be left in the locker in the courtyard, which feels quite secure (though not being able to have things delivered to your room is a bit inconvenient). The room was clean and tidy, and the size was quite good for the price and location. While it inevitably showed some signs of age, that's a normal consequence of regular use. The main thing was that the room felt very comfortable when I walked in; it didn't have that cramped, stuffy smell some hotels have. It was bright and spotless, and the decor was tastefully done – the overall color scheme of the room and the decorative paintings on the walls were all very elegant. Oh, and the ceiling height was also very good, making the space feel more open. Next to the front desk building, there's a small but exquisite exhibition about the May Fourth Movement and the site of Zhaojiaolou. The staff were also very friendly. On the last day, I had a lot of luggage to send back and asked for help moving it; the young man was very enthusiastic and considerate. It's not far from attractions like Chaoyang Park, Chaowai, Tiananmen Square, and the National Museum, all within about a 30-minute taxi ride. Chang'an Grand Theatre, Beijing Railway Station, and International Hotel are all within a kilometer, and within 2 kilometers, there are plenty of various Chinese and Western restaurants and traditional local snacks. All in all, it was a very satisfying stay. Although I haven't seen much advertising for this place, I would definitely consider staying here again if I come to Beijing.

I was very satisfied, it exceeded my expectations! Great value for money. The hotel is only a few hundred meters from Beijing Railway Station, and it's also very close to the subway station. You can even take a stroll through the nearby hutongs. The only drawback was being woken up by noise the next morning... The lady at the front desk was also very enthusiastic!
