Although Beijing XinYuan Hotel is not a newly built property, it is well-maintained and continues to meet the standards of an official 5-star hotel. The hotel offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness centre, a complimentary self-service laundry room and several restaurants, making it suitable for both leisure and family travellers. The hotel is not located within the main tourist district and most major attractions are some distance away. However, this is not a significant inconvenience because the nearest metro station is within walking distance. Travelling by metro is straightforward and convenient while taxi or ride hailing services can usually reach most popular attractions within about 1 hour, depending on traffic conditions. One notable advantage is that the hotel has front desk staff who are able to communicate in English. This makes the check in process and general enquiries much easier for international visitors who do not speak Mandarin. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM. In practice, if the buffet has been prepared before the official opening time, guests are generally allowed to start dining slightly earlier. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of dishes with an emphasis on traditional Chinese cuisine. The menu changes slightly each day, providing some variety for guests staying several nights. The dining area also includes automatic coffee machines and tea beverage dispensers, allowing guests to prepare drinks quickly and conveniently. While it is not situated beside the city's main attractions, its easy access to the metro network and reasonable travelling time by taxi make it a practical and enjoyable base for exploring Beijing.

I chose this downtown hotel for my business trip, and the location was fantastic – right next to the subway station. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and they even proactively upgraded me to a high-floor room with a view. The room was clean and tidy, the desk was spacious enough, and the WiFi was stable. Breakfast offered a good mix of Western and Chinese options, and the coffee was decent. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning was a bit noisy at night, but overall, it offered great value for money, and I'd definitely stay here again.

She was enthusiastic and proactive, answered all our questions, and thought of everything. This hotel was perfect for my layover before catching a train! It's only 400 meters from Beijing West Railway Station, so it was just a few minutes' walk to the station, which was incredibly easy with luggage. The amenities were really practical. The hotel offers breakfast, so I didn't have to scramble to find a restaurant in the morning. They also have a self-service laundry room, which was great for catching up on laundry accumulated during my travels. Plus, the room supported robot delivery for food, which was super convenient. It really met all the essential needs for a traveler. The room was spotless, very clean and tidy when I walked in, making for a really comfortable stay. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and very efficient, making interactions easy and pleasant. It's ideal for a transit stay between trains, and offers great value for money. I'll definitely book here again next time I pass through!

On this business trip to Beijing, I stayed at the Sheraton Beijing Xihai Hotel, located in the Lize Financial Business District. The experience far exceeded my expectations, so I absolutely have to give it a five-star rating! First, I have to mention the hotel's 'hardware'. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to an Executive Suite, which was incredibly spacious. The layout of the living room and bedroom was very well-organized, offering a great sense of space with no feeling of being cramped. The living room was equipped with a B&O sound system and a large Samsung TV, which was perfect for relaxing with music or casting shows. The large bathtub in the bedroom and the well-designed wet and dry separation in the bathroom were also very thoughtful. For business travelers, a bath after a long day completely washes away the fatigue. Next, I must highly praise the Executive Lounge here. I had heard a lot about the Sheraton Xihai's lounge, and after experiencing it, it certainly lives up to its reputation. Finally, I want to talk about the service. From check-in at the front desk to room service, every staff member was proactive, enthusiastic, polite, and attentive.

Location: Super convenient, right across from the east side of West Station North Square. Easy access to public transport, subway, and taxis. Lots of food options too. You can check in within a few steps of getting off the train, and no rush when checking out. Recommended! Service: Excellent! The front desk upgraded our room for free when they saw I had a child with me. Facilities: The hotel is a little on the older side overall, but the location makes up for it. Cleanliness: Very good, didn't notice anything unclean.

Hotel was clean, front desk staff was pleasant and polite. The laundry room was clean and had everything needed to wash/dry clothes and even an option to ask staff to help you take out the clothes from the machine once it’s done. The location is ideal for those who might need to catch a train or want easy access to the metro station. However, for me, I found that other than for that specific reason, the location wasn’t the best - it’s somewhat surrounded by construction so it can get a bit dusty (which is not ideal if you have allergies) and also a bit noisy. I booked a room with a tub but it seemed like the tub hadn’t been scrubbed in a while - I had to do that myself and order a tub plastic cover on ******* before having a bath.
