The hygiene was impeccable; the bedding was clean and odorless, and the bathroom counters and floors were spotless. The service was very attentive; the front desk staff proactively informed us about the hotel's services, and the cleaning staff were very thorough during their rounds without disturbing our rest.

It's also very close to the high-speed train station, and the facilities are comprehensive.

From the moment I stepped out of the car and saw the Bavarian-style castle perched by Xinghai Bay, I knew this trip would be unforgettable. It absolutely deserves a full five-star rating! The location is simply a gift from heaven, nestled on the Lotus Mountain range, overlooking the entire Xinghai Bay. Xinghai Square, Asia's largest, is right outside, and you can walk to the start of Binhai Road. A stroll down the hill leads to Sun Asia Ocean World, making transportation incredibly convenient. The absolute highlight is the panoramic view; from the room, the sky garden, and even the restaurant, you can see the azure sea and the cross-sea bridge. During the day, it's a clear blue sky and ocean; at night, the bridge twinkles with lights. Every photo you take is guaranteed to go viral on social media. There are also adorable deer at the hotel entrance, and feeding them is super therapeutic – you don't even need to travel far to find an Instagrammable spot. The castle guest room experience was exceptional! I decisively chose the deluxe sea-view room. The European palace-style decor is exquisite and elegant, with crystal chandeliers and vintage patterns exuding sophistication. The space is generous and airy. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows bring the magnificent mountain and sea scenery directly into the room. The buffet at Collection All-Day Dining was incredibly impressive, with unlimited fresh local Dalian seafood, freshly grilled steak, teppanyaki squid, roast duck, Japanese sushi, and three flavors of crawfish. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. In the dessert area, the strawberry cheesecake and Black Forest cake were both visually stunning and delicious, making them irresistible. On the fifth floor, the Royal Beer House offers home-brewed German beer paired with authentic German cuisine – it's truly local. And the afternoon tea at the Royal Club on the twentieth floor is utterly romantic, overlooking the sea from the clouds, accompanied by exquisite pastries – time just slows down. The service was thoughtful and attentive, with sincerity evident in every detail! Before check-in, the butler proactively communicated my needs and even helped arrange a room upgrade – super considerate. The front desk staff were warm and professional, making the check-in process highly efficient. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus up and down the hill, solving any walking difficulties, and 24-hour room service is available on call. The housekeeping aunties cleaned meticulously. The hotel's facilities are also perfectly appointed. Huang Zitao was warm, friendly, and professional. JJ Lin and Jackson Yee gave a detailed explanation of the check-in process and even offered to connect on WeChat, assuring us they would respond immediately to any needs throughout our stay. This trip was to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, and the hotel surprised us with a special cake and fruit, which was a wonderful touch. We were extremely satisfied.

GGuest UserHuazhu Club’s first choice is Ibis! I haven't stayed in many express hotels nearby, but the environment and service are better than those nearby! Especially the staff at the front desk are very patient and enthusiastic. When I was using the computer downstairs at night, I found that some drunk guests were very rude. The young staff member Xiaogui Ning was very patient in explaining and guiding me! This is not easy! If you live near here, I highly recommend it! The TV can also project the screen, and I watched the S14 finals here!

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located about a 3-minute walk from Exit D of 西安路(Xianlu) Station, and it takes less than 30 minutes to get to the airport. Right in front of the hotel, there’s a nightclub and a street lined with food stalls mainly frequented by locals. It gets lively at night. I stayed in a room facing the street, but since it was on the 6th floor, the noise from outside wasn’t too bothersome. However, the soundproofing between rooms isn’t great. I could hear sounds from neighboring rooms. The shower and toilet facilities are basic. Note that in some rooms, the bathroom isn’t fully separated from the rest of the space. Two 500ml bottles of water were provided and replenished daily. Towels were replaced during daily cleaning, but it seemed like the sheets weren’t changed though that might be different for longer stays. There’s no fridge in the room, but you can ask the front desk to store things in their staff refrigerator if needed. Foreigners can stay here without any issues. During my 3-night stay, there was a different staff member at the front desk each day, but everyone was friendly and helpful. They actively assisted me when I had any issues, and I’m really grateful for that. Even if you don’t speak Chinese, using a translation app works fine. For basic things like check-in and check-out, you won’t need Chinese at all.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this excellent hotel for three nights during our first visit to Dalian in May. The room was very clean and had some very useful amenities such as a refrigerator, clothes washer and a bidet toilet. It was very convenient to wash our clothes and save money. The staff was very helpful and kind. Mr. Chen helped me find an excellent Thai massage spa (Tai Baba) nearby and helped us get taxis. We are especially grateful to the manager Mr. Leon. He left his busy post at the front desk and walked with me several blocks to get medicine for my wife who was briefly ill. We opted for the Chinese breakfast all three days and it was very good. However, the western food selection was limited. That was not a problem for us because the Chinese food was delicious. We are from the USA. Mr. Leon recommended an excellent Japanese restaurant (Konoha or Jiuye) with a huge menu selection in the same building. We ate there twice and there was a waitress who spoke fluent Japanese. There are many Japanese restaurants in close walking distance to the hotel. Also, the hotel is located near a shopping mall with a huge food court on the top floor. We recommend Chinese and foreigners to stay at the Shan Shui S Hotel when visiting Dalian. It made our trip to the beautiful, friendly city of Dalian memorable.
