The hotel has a great environment. There's a light fragrance as soon as you enter the door. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. When you leave, they even ask if you want to take two more bottles of water. Thumbs up! There's also a free shuttle bus to Disneyland. I'll stay here again next time I go to Disneyland.

The location is excellent. There are many restaurants right on the street below the hotel, making dining incredibly convenient. It's also very close to Shuguang Hospital, within walking distance. With two universities just across the road, a wide range of amenities are easily accessible. The front desk staff were very friendly and patient. The room was very clean, and the cleaning staff were excellent and very cooperative.

This newly opened hotel isn't far from the metro station, and all the staff, from top to bottom, had great attitudes. However, the front desk and breakfast restaurant staff seemed a bit green in their operations. On the other hand, the housekeeping aunties and executive lounge employees were incredibly warm, professional, and provided excellent service. The room was very clean, but it was a shame that this room type, which was the most expensive apart from the suites, wasn't really worth it. It just had a rather useless, 'chicken-rib' balcony that actually made the room feel more cramped. As soon as I checked in, I found the electric curtains weren't working and wouldn't come down. Luckily, I discovered this before bedtime, otherwise, I might have thought I was staying in an old hotel! The gym's changing rooms had a sauna but no plunge pool, which felt like a downgrade in facilities. There were also very few showers, and half of them either had no water or very weak water pressure. On the plus side, all the food at the hotel was excellent. The three meals at the executive lounge and breakfast restaurant were impressive in both taste and texture – one of the few hotels where the food actually makes you feel happy. Plus, the coffee and juice were also great. With Christmas approaching, the hotel's decorations and music really added to the ambiance. Overall, it was okay, but it didn't quite justify the price, and there's definitely room for improvement in many areas.

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Great communication with the hotel staff that made us feel most welcome with a toiletries package for a 4-night stay. Shanghai can be intimidating to intrepid travellers that don’t speak Chinese, which is why many foreigners join organised tours. We appreciate the welcome email prior to arrival with directions. We were spoiled with the 5-star cruise aboard the Yangzi Explorer discovering cities along the Yangtze River in a tour group with bilingual guides. There are so many optional activities in Shanghai, and these were the highlights suggested by the hotel staff that spoke in English and occasionally used a translation device for clear communication. They wrote the Chinese name which was helpful as we wandered the maze of streets in this old part of Shanghai. The staff were patient with our limited Chinese and Lucas helped us with Chinese lessons. These were the top picks, all within walkable distance, except ERA2. · TAN Sichuan in Yu Garden for dinner on arrival · The famous Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant in Yu Garden for the traditional handmade xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) for brunch · High tea · Dinner at The Fellas (chateaubriand for two) rooftop bar with a a breathtaking view of the Bund and Pudong skyline · Jazz in the Long Bar in Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on the Bund, though we also went to hear the Jazz Band in Peace Hotel but don’t waste your money on the CNY480pp minimum spend where there was no vibe where even the musicians seemed bored. LLingling Kotchanan Tanrattanakul TanrattanakulJust the first night we had problems. From 11 PM onwards, there was a lot of noise coming from what sounded like a bar outside. Both the music and people talking and laughing loudly could be heard clearly in our room, even though we double-checked and the windows were tightly shut. We arrived at the hotel at 10 PM that night, very tired. It was our first time in Shanghai, and we had an early flight from Chiang Mai (waking up at 4 AM to get to the airport) and walked a lot upon arrival. Discovering this situation made us want to change rooms. We even had to cancel our tour plans for the next morning because we couldn't sleep. We called the front desk for earplugs, but we're not used to them and couldn't sleep with them in. Thankfully, the hotel helped us switch rooms first thing in the morning. After we changed rooms, we didn't encounter any more issues. The hotel's location is good. The bed is comfortable. The hot water is good. The service is excellent. We would come back again.

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

CCurious TravellerGreat location if you are heading for Disneyland or has an early flight to catch the next morning. Otherwise it is quite far from Shanghai city center - JingAn area- with no traffic - 45 min taxi ride) The hotel offers free shuttle to Disneyland which departs the hotel at 7:20am; and returns to the hotel at 10:20pm. It was a bit late for us since we finished watching the fireworks at 830pm. (Disneyland closes at 9:30pm ). So we just took a taxi (very few people waiting and cost ~RMB50; while the online car service costs ~R30 but the waiting area was very congested. The free shuttle to Putong airport departs on the hour and starts from 4 or 5am and takes less than 30min. Need to book one day in advance at the front desk. Our 3 persons family room has a double bed and a proper single bed( not fold up bed). Spacious enough for luggages. The negatives - we booked and paid for 3 persons - but hotel only offered breakfast for 2. We booked 2 nights but only has breakfast for one day. Strangest arrangement I have ever seen. BF - has reasonable options of Chinese and western cuisine . Noodle Bar was the best. Night snack- also has noodle bar with dumplings and congee.

Concierges Aaron and Katrina were particularly patient and detailed, making communication pleasant and smooth. Overall, the stay was comfortable and delightful. The hotel has a timeless charm, beautifully preserved like a beauty who defies age. The Long Bar, specially recommended by the concierge, is also exceptional. With the Bund and Oriental Pearl Tower outside the window and the Waldorf Astoria inside, it offers a truly superb experience of Shanghai's Bund. Highly recommended! 👍 However, do note that you need to be on a higher floor to enjoy a full panoramic view of the Bund. The picture shows the view from the 17th floor.

UUeeLeeHost are super friendly and helpful, the location is very convenient and easy to find, near tourist attractions and shopping areas. The place is just in the local area with you can see real local people life. The room is clean, nice and cozy, you will got everything you need during the stay like towels, shampoo, dryer, toothbrush etc., they even have projector you can use, I really have a good time with my friends, we spend night time ordering food and snack and have a small party, watching our favorite shows. Recommend for anyone who staying with friends or family.
