This hotel is incredibly well-designed. Every time I walk in or out, I'm greeted by a subtle tea fragrance. The room was clean, bright, and spacious, with a minimalist, Japanese-inspired design – a perfect stay experience. This is the first hotel I've encountered that provides disposable face towels, and they even offered two complimentary Americanos. The service was excellent and very thoughtful. Breakfast was abundant, and I particularly enjoyed the local Yunnan specialties like flower cakes, rice noodles, and grilled rubing cheese. Overall, I highly recommend it and will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Kunming.

This is a newly opened Holiday Inn Express hotel with very high ratings. I decided to stay here on short notice, from February 6th to February 15th. During my stay, I received a lot of care. Especially the manager, Mr. Zhang Xianfang, and the sales manager, Mr. Cheng Zhuo, their work ethic was admirable. There was also a young lady who witnessed me working overtime in the lobby at night, but I didn't have time to ask her name. My room faced the Yunnan Daily Building. Throughout my stay, I felt the enthusiasm, professionalism, and responsibility of the hotel management team every day. I saw hotel staff members personally handling various tasks on several occasions, and their work was truly admirable. I would definitely recommend it to friends, especially for business trips. If you're traveling alone, you should book a room. However, currently, there aren't many seats in the lobby, only two rows of booths and a circle of sofas. The restaurant only offers breakfast and doesn't offer à la carte service. If there were more seats in the lobby, the restaurant was moved closer to the entrance, and a coffee area was added, it would definitely change the hotel's current positioning. I noticed that the guests were mainly families and business travelers. The Holiday Inn in the country where I work is in a great location, a popular spot for many people after work, business trips, weekdays, and weekends. Finally, here are some photos from last Christmas in the country where I work!

NNingchangbabyI was on a business trip to Kunming, and only stayed one night before heading to Lijiang. I hastily booked this hotel solely based on its high ratings, and I wasn't disappointed after checking in. The front desk staff were proactive in greeting me, and every service person had an excellent attitude. As for the room, the soundproofing was very good. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was exquisite. As someone in my middle age, almost peri-menopausal, I struggle with sleep and usually wake up before 6 or 7 AM. To my surprise, I slept until 8:30 AM at this hotel! That's incredibly rare, so I definitely have to give it a good review. If I have another chance to visit Kunming, I'll certainly choose this hotel again.
GGuest UserThe room was incredibly spacious with amazing views. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful, even allowing us to store our luggage. We also received complimentary welcome fruit, and there's an airport shuttle service. Plus, there's a great local market nearby with lots of delicious food. I'll definitely book this place again next time I'm at Kunming Airport.
GGuest UserThe front desk service was very thoughtful; they proactively contacted me to let me know the hotel's location. You can check in your luggage and go through security on the third floor via the elevator, which is super convenient for catching early morning flights. The room was very clean. I highly recommend it to anyone needing to stay overnight at the airport!
GGuest UserAs a bit of a hotel enthusiast myself, I chose this hotel for my 'solo honeymoon' to experience the beautiful Yunnan scenery, primarily for its convenient location and accessibility. The facilities are brand new, and the location is exceptionally good; the subway is just a three to five-minute walk away. Surrounded by several high-end shopping centers, dining and shopping are incredibly convenient. There's even a dessert shop downstairs, making it super easy to order takeout if you don't feel like going out. Breakfast is served half an hour later than at InterContinental, which is a huge plus for late sleepers. The service was very warm; a polite gentleman helped me with my luggage down the steps and loaded it into my car. The front desk lady was also very thoughtful, and any requests to housekeeping were promptly addressed. This hotel is more than sufficient for business travelers and anyone prioritizing convenience, offering a completely stress-free stay ❤️.
MM10627****The room was spacious, and the solid wood desk felt really high-quality. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which was very convenient for two people. They even have robots that can deliver takeout, which is pretty smart. Plus, there are charging stations right next to the hotel, which is great for electric car owners – no need to worry about finding a place to charge.
RRalph D.SAmenities, ive rated 3/5 to remain neutral as all we needed was a place to stay to accommodate our family of 5.
Now, where do I begin, first of? if you sre arriving at this place via didi or taxi straight from the airport, do yourself a favour and get dropped off outside and walk to the entrance of the ”hotel”. If you get dropped off inside the underground parking lot, Goodluck to your driver finding the spot to drop you off that connects to the hotels' elevator (its a maze and once u get there, it looks sketchy but its alright).
Now, for the location: the location is superb! You're legit right beside a large mall with Tonssssss of restaurants to eat at even late at night! It is simply very convenient. And if you dont mind walking, there's another mall down south thats about 15mins walk. Lots of things to do.
The lobby, the receptionist were kind and warm. They provided water whenever asked and didn't hesitate to help where they could. The free tea upfront, although we didn't fully utilize, was a nice touch.
Now for the room: we selected the largest room they had which had 3 bedrooms. The price? It was insanely good. Almost unheard of. It was between 50-70 Canadian during the time of booking. I couldn't believe it.
But not all hotels are perfect, and i have to say some of the things i experienced could definitely be improved.
The restroom area had some scent to it that I couldn't point out as to what the smell is. I had to leave the exhaust fan on to ensure a neutral atmosphere. It worked fyi.
The living room: is huge but tell me how there's only a 2-3 people sofa available and one small chair and a table. Its a wasted space. It ought to offer a large lounging furniture at this kind of room. It felt bare.
The windows: simply put, although they installed windows capable of sound deadening, the weather stripping and the latch simply doesnt bond the gaps efficiently. Meaning, coldness of the night still finds its way. Luckily, the hvac system works and the curtains are relatively thick and also automatic (adjust at will).
The beds are ultra clean and the floors were relatively spotless.
But there's honestly one thing that is have to think about if I ever decide to rebook. I personally don't smoke, and i requested for a deodorizing treatment for our room prior to coming. The room itself? It didn't smell like cigarettes which was awesome, but here's something I don't see bring possible to address: at night time, while I lay down and sleep, there is a smell of people smoking cigarettes whose odour is somehow able to travel through the air ducts. Like each and every night, it was the same ordeal. My son didn't say anything, my parents inlaw didn't say anything, but my wife and I, yeah we smelled it.
It isnt like as if you're beside someone smoking cigarettes, but its more like a scent that goes along with the air in the room that suggest someone had smoked, just unsure when.
Other than that, sure, the beds, pillows and comforters were all clean and comfy.
Honestly, my family was OK with the room. The convenience and price is really really hard to beat. Like it is extremely beyond belief affordable. Perhaps id reconsider staying here again if we were in kunming. We'll see.
LLuxiangbeibeiMy friend highly recommended this place, saying the area is fantastic and super convenient, and the shuttle service was a huge plus. The shuttle service to/from the South High-Speed Rail Station was excellent. Overall, the service was truly impeccable, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.
GGuest UserThe hotel is newly renovated, the room is very comfortable, there is a snack street downstairs, it is convenient, the hotel service is very good, and it is also very close to the high-speed rail. Relatively speaking, it is comfortable to stay and the experience is good. You can choose this hotel if you are transiting nearby!
PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
