Ethos Hotel

I stayed at Ethos Hotel for a few nights. The service was excellent - clean facility, modern and comfortable furniture, very friendly and helpful staff. When I needed things in the room, the response was immediate. The front desk personnel - Bushra and Samira - are both very pleasant, patient and helpful. The cafe/restaurant is also cozy, clean and offers delicious food. I think the only thing that can be more flexible is to accept both card and cash. My card gave me a little trouble upon arrival, and knowing they accept no cash gave me a little scare. Eventually my card worked, but the flexibility would have been appreciated. All else was excellent.

My first experience highlighted the incompetent service. I booked an executive room and was told 6 months later that they had listed it at the wrong price. After confirming the new price, it was clearly confirmed on ***********. The hotel clearly ignore these confirmations because they downgraded me to a classic, but left *********** to charge me the higher price. Hotel not interested, everyone else’s fault. No apology, no compensation. *********** had to contact the hotel and correct the price again. Access code arrived less than 3 hours prior to check-in, which was the first I knew of my downgrade. Classic rooms are OK but very noisy if you’re at the back. Sink plug broken, poor ventilation, good Wi-Fi, clean and comfortable bed. Stayed 2 nights but after first night, no housekeeping, no clean cups, no new toiletries and bottles of water. They have clearly, following the decision to sell, given up. If you haven’t booked already, or have a flexible booking, you might wish to do the same.
The Sportsview Guest House

The only homestay booked in this trip is a little distance from the center of Oxford Town. It takes about 20 minutes to walk. There is a separate yard to do the parking lot. It is very difficult to park at Oxford. Breakfast is done on site, there is also self-service, and the service brother is very good. The location of the front desk is not very clear, the room is on the highest floor, there is no elevator, the stairs are narrow, it will be very difficult to carry heavy luggage, and the bath water adjustment is not very good.

I was a bit dubious about staying in a room above a pub/ restaurant, but was very pleasantly surprised ! The room was really nice, as well as the bathroom.( A light above the bathroom mirror, might be a good idea ? ) The bed was excellent & although the main road was nearby, I slept like a log. The English breakfast & the buffet was really good value for money. The staff were really friendly & very helpful.......We will be back !

Shockingly dirty greet in this guys separate building 400 metres from hostel. Filthy stained kitchen table cloths. Paperwork and junk all over the place the only homely sort of feel was about 200 DVDs that no one would enjoy in 2019. Online price of stay £50. He told and charged us £59! We let him keep the change. CCTV, TV and wiring in office looked a mess. Rooms don't even go there if you could call them that. Cozy sheets but chose the double bed to find it practically is falling apart. So rickety and loose its frightening and loud must wake everyone up in other grotty rooms. Were welcomed by the sight of a kettle and tea but a shockingly old tv and the box isn't virgin or sky hell knows what it is but just as useless as the telly itself. Totally ripped off I've slept in far better hostels b&bs should be a luxury not hell on earth. He should just call it bed. Because there is no morning breakfast. Free wifi is the least you deserve at this price. Don't waste your money here. Unless you want comfy sheets. Expect to feel heavily pissed off with the effort it took to get the room get to the room to learn the condition of it. Absolutely filthy and outdated from the office to the rooms. Yes youd be better off sleeping rough for the fact what your sleeping on would feel alot safer. This man Chinese or whatever nationality needs a serious wake up call and invest the money we spend properly or close doors for good. Place isn't fit for rent unless desperate for a nap. Hostels are palaces vs here. Of course when I saw the reviews already learned there had to be a good reason and alot of downfalls well we learned it quickly
