Hotels in Dali City with sea view​

"We had a bit of a disappointing experience at the Jiatu Scenic Hotel. The room listing states ‘lake view’ so we booked that room, however, it turns out that this room does not face the lake and has an internal car par window instead. The listing photos conveniently have the net curtains of the windows drawn so you can’t see this from the inside photos. The receptionist insisted the Trip.com listing was accurate because the hotel was near the lake and therefore a ‘lake view’. They would not change us to a room with the lake view that we believed we booked, despite having multiple lake-view rooms available and us checking in at 10.30pm. They insisted the only way we could change the room was to cancel our booking (and incur a 50% cancellation fee) and rebook the more expensive ‘sea-view’ room instead. We contacted Trip.com who spoke to the hotel also but they were unwilling to help or move us, despite the room not matching the listing description. Trip themselves were very helpful and offered us some compensation. In the end we stayed in the room we’d booked with no lake view. The room itself was lovely and spacious, had storage options and was clean and tidy. If we’d booked knowing this didn’t have a lake view then it would have been perfect! The location is near the station which is great if you’re there for one night, however we were there for 2 nights and had to travel 40 minutes to get to Dali Old Town or the 28 bends ecological corridor, so personally if I were to come to Dali again I would choose a hotel in that location instead. It is worth noting that the hotel is across the road from the lake, so you can see cars and the road even in the lakeside view rooms."

"We will be back! This felt like a home away from home, except it had such a wonderful view of the lake. The host was super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, close to the railway station, which was very handy for us as we came over from Kunming and then went back. You're close to many of the central places and with DiDi taxi, it's super easy to get around from here. We will for sure book here again; we're already planning a visit back."

"Stayed for 3 night and I have to say this is one of the best homestay I stayed in China. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and nice! Got a free upgrade as well. Homestay is walking distance ti the south gate of Dali Ancient city.Breakfast, tea time and even welcome fruits platter. The mi xian(noodle) is seriously good and light. The two cuties Shiyi & Huanxi is just so cute. I would definitely come back here again whenever I dropped by Dali."

"Time seems to slow down to half speed here. Open the door and you're greeted by Erhai Lake; look up and see Cangshan Mountain. The floor-to-ceiling windows are like a living painting. The public areas, with their swings, floral arches, and waterside terrace, offer picturesque spots everywhere. The service is perfectly balanced – gentle and responsive without being intrusive. My most memorable experience was the afternoon tea by the water, with the wind rippling across the lake's surface, a sweet treat in hand, and the layered mountains in the distance. All fatigue simply melted away. Wake up to the clear blue water and sky, and in the evening, wait for a beautiful sunset. Sanse Yunhe is definitely a place I'd love to visit again."

"This short beach getaway Airbnb, chosen completely at random, exceeded all my expectations! The location is truly unbeatable; the Erhai Lake is just a two-minute walk away, and there are plenty of great restaurants and takeout options nearby. Strolling along the coastline in the evening was incredibly relaxing. The host's service was wonderfully thoughtful; they sent parking directions and sightseeing routes in advance, and even offered a hand with heavy luggage. The room's cleanliness was absolutely top-notch. The bed linen was fluffy and sparkling white with no strange odors, and even the windowsills and bathroom crevices were spotless. All the in-room facilities were brand new, including a huge observation balcony with lounge chairs, offering direct views of the entire sea. The bathroom had excellent wet and dry separation, with the vanity and shower areas completely partitioned off, so the floor was always dry and never pooled water. The living comfort was simply maximized, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit."

"Our 'butler service' means you get a dedicated butler providing one-on-one service from the moment you check in. They'll contact you in advance to confirm your arrival time, arrange shuttle pick-up, and send friendly reminders about breakfast times and other important notes via group chat. Facilities: The hairdryer's airflow is really weak, not even as strong as the wind off Erhai Lake! The bedside lamp isn't working, but everything else is okay. Cleanliness: Clean, tidy, and no strange smells – pretty good. Environment: The space is large and bright. My only complaint is the view from the window isn't great. Service: The service is excellent; anything we needed was delivered to the room very quickly, and the breakfast tasted good. Honestly, the view from the guest room window is quite disappointing."

"Choosing this place for your Erhai Lake trip is definitely the right call. It's close to all the major attractions, making it perfect for both sightseeing and relaxation. Parking is free and unlimited, so you can come and go as you please. The room was clean and tidy, with plenty of space – not cramped at all. All the facilities were complete and in good working order, and the environment was quiet. The staff were very attentive and the overall stay felt secure and comfortable."

"The rooms are spacious and bright, the sanitation is particularly in place, and the whole house is clean and comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows have a great view of the sea view, and you can see the Bohai Sea while lying on the bed. The atmosphere is full. The store’s facilities are very intimate, there is free parking, the executive lounge also provides afternoon tea, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. The location is on the side of Xiaoputuo, the scenery is quiet and healing, it is convenient to drive by car, and the drive from the airport is also moderate. Come to Dali to see the sea and choose this one without stepping on thunder. I will stay here next time!"
