"Had a very pleasant night at AKENO Hotel. The hotel's design is highly distinctive, with fossil walls and wood elements creating a tranquil, Zen-like atmosphere – every corner is incredibly photogenic. The room was spacious, and the hardware was exceptionally well-equipped: German Dornbracht shower, Roca smart toilet, and a Slumberland mattress, offering comfort on par with a five-star hotel. The biggest surprise was the free and well-stocked mini-bar, and the capsule coffee machine definitely added to the enjoyment. The staff were gentle and attentive, and they even provided welcome fruits. The location is also very convenient, right next to Chaoyang Park (with a Pop Mart theme park!), and not far from Sanlitun and Blue Harbor. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Beijing."

This time, my girlfriend and I chose to celebrate a special day of love at the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen in Beijing. I had heard that Qianmen MO ranked 14th in the 2026 World Top 50 Hotels, so we decided to experience it ourselves. To summarize: Hotel Service - full marks; Cultural Experience - full marks; Hotel Decor - full marks. I communicated our check-in time with the butler in advance. Upon arrival, the Director of Housekeeping, our butler, the doorman, and about 5 other staff members greeted us warmly with a bouquet of roses. From that moment on, whether it was the decor evoking old Beijing hutongs or the warm welcome service, I immediately fell deeply in love with it. Once we entered the room, the special occasion decorations and welcome amenities were all perfectly arranged. I'd like to specially commend our butler, Miss Melody. She truly treated us with sincerity and meticulously met our needs. From booking Ten Triggers Bar to arranging transportation, breakfast requests, and late check-out, everything was communicated through a dedicated WeChat group and arranged perfectly in advance. Many thanks! Regarding the stay experience, this was my first time staying in a hotel with a private courtyard. We stayed at Dongcheng Caocang 3 Tiao, and the entire small courtyard was ours. I even felt like I had a home in Beijing, a siheyuan of my own. (On a side note, the butler told us we were very lucky to be staying in the same room where Dylan Wang once stayed). It was a perfect, happy, and unforgettable stay. I hope to return here again for another stay on a snowy winter day.

I have no complaint for this hotel at all. I love all about the hotel the room is excellent and clean The toilet is clean and covered with doors, no such thing as open toilet or see thru toilet. If youre malaysian, the only flaw is the bidet part but its ok. Customer service is excellent, they very helpful despite the language barrier but they try their best. Actually my favourite part is the laundry room, they got steamer iron and washer and dryer for the guest to use it for free. If ever u need someone who can help u in english, call for the “016” guy at the reception. Overall the stay is nice.

As a five-star hotel, it absolutely delivered on luxury, making for an excellent experience. I have to praise the location – it's incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. You can walk to Metro Lines 1 and 10, so getting around is a breeze. Step out of the hotel and turn left, and within 50 meters, you're at a mall with so many shopping and dining options you'll be spoiled for choice. All your retail and food cravings are easily met! The room was an even bigger surprise. It was exceptionally spacious, bright, and well-lit. The floor-to-ceiling window offered an amazing view, and it was incredibly comfortable just lying there and enjoying the scenery. The facilities were comprehensive, and the pillows and mattress were perfectly comfortable – I slept like a baby, straight through till morning. It was incredibly refreshing. Breakfast also deserves a mention. There was a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, so many choices that I was satisfied every morning. The staff were consistently warm and polite, always thinking of the guests' needs. Their service was incredibly thoughtful, and I have to give them a big thumbs up! I had such a pleasant stay these past few days. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit!

I came to Beijing for Zhou Shen's concert at the Bird's Nest and wanted to visit the Forbidden City, so I chose the relatively close Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing Beijing. The hardware facilities and service were, as expected, impeccable. What truly surprised me was that Tina and William from the front office discreetly prepared photos of Zhou Shen – and even framed them! Zhou Shen was wearing his new 'bunny' outfit from the concert. I was incredibly touched; it shows how dedicated the hotel is to its guests, making you feel right at home. I left in a hurry and forgot to ask who wrote the little card; not only was it clever, but the handwriting was beautiful too. The complimentary daily teas from the hotel were also delicious and always different. From now on, when I visit Beijing, I'll definitely stay at your hotel! My sincere thanks to all the hotel staff for their excellent service, and I wish everyone a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival again. May the hotel's business prosper and everyone's endeavors be successful!

This is my second stay here. My last visit was during the ** era, and although the name has changed, the entire operational team remains the same. In fact, I feel it offers even better value for money now than it did during the ** period. This time, I stayed in a very quiet suite, designed in the old Beijing courtyard (siheyuan) style that I love. Its location right next to the Summer Palace is unique and a huge advantage. Sitting in the courtyard at night, enjoying the breeze and stargazing, was incredibly relaxing. The design maintains traditional Chinese classical elements, including the cabinets and even the key locks on the doors, all showcasing very traditional Chinese craftsmanship. As for comfort, because I stayed in a suite this time, the bed's design, reminiscent of ancient times, genuinely gave me the best sleep I've had all year – extremely comfortable. The service was also excellent; they were very accommodating to all requests. Overall, even though it's not a ** hotel, the operational team is still outstanding. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit old, so some of the hardware facilities are showing their age. Of course, this is an unavoidable issue for older hotels, and I hope they can continue to strengthen hardware maintenance in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel for my girlfriend’s surprise birthday. The hotel kindly accommodated my request for a high floor, and we were given a room with an amazing view. They also decorated the room and provided a complimentary birthday cake, which was a lovely touch and genuinely helped make the surprise special. However, there were several issues that I feel are important to mention, particularly when staying at a five star hotel. My expectation was for the room to be close to perfect, but there were several visible stains on the walls and carpet, as well as dirty windows. These are details that I would not expect to see at a five star property and, in my opinion, should have been addressed before the room was given to guests. We were also disappointed to discover that some of the restaurants, including Views Restaurant and Kempi Deli, were closed despite still being listed on the hotel’s website. We had specifically looked forward to visiting these restaurants, so it would have been helpful if the website information had been updated. Another disappointment was the jacuzzi being closed. We had been looking forward to using it during our stay, but only the lap swimming pool was available. We also visited Brewery@Kempinski, which itself was nice. Unfortunately, the behaviour of some of the staff made us extremely uncomfortable. I understand that we are foreigners and may naturally attract some attention, but repeatedly staring at us, making comments and then giggling among themselves was extremely unprofessional especially when it was directed at us in. It continued to the point where I had to call the staff over and address the situation directly. Only after doing so did they stop and leave us alone. This was particularly disappointing from a five star hotel. Finally, we received a call from the hotel informing us that they wanted to give us a gift for our stay. When the butler came to our door, he presented us with traditional Chinese mooncakes. I thanked him and went to close the door, but he placed his foot against the door and then proceeded to ask for a tip. I found this extremely inappropriate. If something is presented to a guest as a gift from the hotel, I do not expect to then be asked for money. At that point, it no longer feels like a gift; it feels as though I am being asked to pay for something that was supposedly complimentary. Overall, we did have a pleasant stay, and I genuinely appreciate the efforts made for my girlfriend’s birthday, particularly the room, view, decorations and complimentary cake. However, I wanted to leave a truthful and honest review because these issues should not be overlooked, especially when paying five star prices. There were certainly some wonderful aspects to our stay, but there were also several experiences that fell below the standard I would expect from a five star Kempinski hotel.

Thanks to Mika and Aria for their thoughtful and attentive arrangements. They prepared a personalized room key card and a small birthday cake for us in advance, creating a full sense of occasion and perfectly catering to our birthday needs. However, the hotel entrance was very chaotic, with bellhops busy collecting food deliveries and not opening or closing car doors. If it weren't for the very thoughtful birthday arrangements, I would be dissatisfied with the service. At the bar, it took a long time for the staff to even notice us. The toothpaste and toothbrushes felt a bit cheap, and the layout wasn't a traditional suite; it was no different from a king-size room, with no separate living room and bedroom. It was also very easy to slip between the bathtub and the shower.

This stay at the Sofitel Jian Guo Men left me with a great overall impression. Before arriving, I communicated with the duty manager, Eli, letting him know it was our first stay and that it coincided with our anniversary. Upon check-in, he immediately upgraded us to an Executive Floor room and had it specially decorated. The attention to detail was exceptional, and we were incredibly impressed from the moment we arrived. The first impression upon entering was excellent. The lobby had incredibly high ceilings and a grand, bright decor, completely avoiding the oppressive feeling you sometimes get in older hotels. The layout of the Executive Room was also quite interesting; it wasn't just a generic square box. The space was well-utilized, making it feel much more spacious than I had imagined. The service overall was hassle-free. Whether it was dealing with the front desk or requesting room service, any issues were addressed very quickly, with no need for back-and-forth. In the evening, I specifically went to the bar on the basement level. The bartender, Pamper, was very amiable. She asked about my preferred tastes, and the cocktails she made were perfectly to my liking. Overall, it's a hotel with excellent value for money and well worth staying at.

Beautiful modern hotel, rooms are average but do the job: comfy beds, big shower with great water pressure and toiletries provided, but no safety deposit box, plug sockets were loose, sink is not attached so don’t lean on it! No windows to the outside but a very strange little door/window that takes you onto an enclosed balcony type terrace with fake grass and a huge window into the hotel’s dining area… Breakfast was a mix of cuisine but almost every morning the coffee machine was not working. Luckily there is a Tims Express Coffee Shop within the hotel itself - which is great for an iced coffee lover like myself anyway! And although there is a huge language barrier in China, not just at this hotel, the staff are incredibly kind and patient, always willing to help and equipped with translators at hand at all times to serve you as best as possible. Huge thank you to Jason and Wang Yu Qing from the hotel reception. They were absolutely amazing — incredibly kind, friendly, helpful and always smiling. They were very welcoming, going above and beyond to help whenever with anything. Their professionalism and genuinely warm attitude made the stay even more enjoyable. Jason, Wang Yu Qing, and the ladies who served us at reception are a real credit to the hotel. People like them make a huge difference and create a truly memorable experience for guests.

Before booking, I read the negative reviews, which were mostly complaints about the service. After staying, I felt like this hotel was one giant obedience test. Upon entering the room, I noticed a strong smell from the air conditioning ducts. I picked up the phone and dialed 'one touch.' The operator transferred me to the front desk, who said they would get back to me shortly. 'Shortly' meant I had to call again to get any kind of answer. After changing rooms, the next day my room card stopped working. That's when I understood why there was a phone in the hallway. After calling, they said an auntie would come to help open the door. Ten minutes later, the auntie finally arrived. After opening the door, she said a concierge would bring a new room card later. Well, it never arrived within two hours. Eventually, when I went to pick up my takeout, I had to go to the front desk myself to get a new one. The tissues in the room ran out. The auntie replaced them with new ones, but just left the new pack on top of the tissue box instead of putting them inside. I don't understand that. There was a short black hair in the bathtub... The mini-bar was completely empty on the first night, possibly due to the room change. At breakfast, I opened a Chinese steamed dim sum, and there was a black hair inside... Breakfast ended at 10:30 AM, and many guests came at 10:35 AM to get coffee, but it was all gone...
