Kunming Hotels with Pools

A great and comfortable hotel! Location: The hotel is directly opposite Daguan Park and Yu Garden, so we could start exploring right after checking in on the first day! It's also a quick taxi ride to Cuihu Park/Jiaochang Middle Road, usually around 20 minutes. It's about 45 minutes from the airport and roughly 40 minutes from Dounan Flower Market. Ambiance: Located by Dianchi Lake, it's very quiet overall. The room was incredibly clean, equipped with smart home devices, and ordering takeout was super convenient. We could order things like 'Zhen Tan Fried Chicken' or 'Shang Shan He Cha' (tea) and a robot would deliver them to our room. The hotel also offers sound bowl meditation classes in the evening, which I tried and found very therapeutic~ Service: The service was excellent. The staff at the front desk were all very kind and gentle. They even proactively helped us with our luggage when we took a taxi to the airport, which was incredibly helpful. Plus, breakfast runs until 10:30 AM and offers both Chinese and Western options. During my two-day stay, I tried the rolled noodles and rice noodles, both were delicious, and I especially loved the accompanying mushrooms. Overall, a very satisfying trip! I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Kunming, haha!

The Grand Hyatt Kunming lived up to our expectations with its understated luxury and elegant decor. Our room was bright and spacious, with attention to detail evident throughout. The hotel is connected to Hang Lung Plaza, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and getting around. Emily contacted us a day in advance to arrange our room, so we could check in early. She even upgraded our room and stayed in touch to offer assistance whenever needed, which was incredibly thoughtful. The Grand Hyatt will definitely be our top choice next time we're in Kunming! 👍👍👍

The apartment is great and the lady who took care of us answered promptly to our requests, so it's a great option if you want to feel like you're actual living in Kunming, instead of just being a guest in a hotel. The only minor issues is that there seem to be some stains in the ground that should be cleaned more thoroughly, and also the wok that we were offered to cook had a lot of burnt oil on the bottom, so the moment we put it on the hob it started to burn and stink. We gave up on cooking because we didn't want to have any accident or fire (incidentally, someone else triggered the fire alarm on our last night). We later asked for a small pot to boil the eggs we had bought and that small pot was great, so I think more care should be put on the cooking utensils offered to the guests. If it weren't for those small things, I'd have nothing to say but good things, so I hope this feedback can help this great hotel become perfect haha. Thanks for all your help and kindness, 阿姨！

I spent a long time choosing a hotel for our trip to Kunming because I wanted somewhere that would keep the kids entertained, but also be suitable for celebrating our wedding anniversary and a birthday. I chose this place primarily for the bathtub in this room type and its convenient location. However, once we arrived, I was truly impressed by how comprehensive the amenities are. From meals to entertainment, and catering to both children and adults, everything is taken care of. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive. The biggest surprise was the handwritten birthday card – in this digital age, a handwritten card really warms the heart. We booked two nights, and we didn't even leave the hotel for one of them; we spent the entire day there with the kids and never got bored. My children are already talking about coming back again.

The hotel lobby is beautifully designed and grand, with a distinct Southeast Asian flair. The rooms are quite spacious and well-equipped. We were traveling with our 2-year-old, so the kids' play area was incredibly useful, and there was a fire show in the evening. The best part was definitely the delicious breakfast. Dianchi Lake is nearby; we took a taxi with our little one to ride the cable car, which was very convenient and not tiring at all. I'd highly recommend this hotel to any out-of-town friends visiting Kunming. P.S. The only minor drawback is that the rooms are a bit dated, but it didn't really bother us.

Very good location near all of the best neighbourhood of Kunming. You can go out of the hotel and walk during 1hour and enjoy the city. Starting at Green Lake Park going through Huanggong east street take a break at Yuying park and Wuhua square watching the Yunnan Monument to the people heroes, visiting the Old town and enjoy the Street food / bakery : rose bagel in Qiangwang street or Namping street / square then watch a movies at Schuncheng shopping center and IMAX theater. The hotel is also clean and well equipped

This was my first stay at Sofitel Kunming, and I was immediately blown away by the incredible high-rise view. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room directly overlook the city's nightscape, creating an amazing ambiance as the city lights come alive in the evening. The overall decor is elegantly French, subtly accented with a few Yunnan-specific touches, giving it a sophisticated yet understated feel. The bedding is soft and gentle on the skin, and the soundproofing is excellent; I couldn't hear any outside noise at all. The toiletries have a subtle, pleasant scent, and the bathroom, with its separate wet and dry areas, was immaculately clean. Xue at the front desk processed my check-in quickly, and all the staff were friendly and polite. The mall downstairs has a great selection of restaurants, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. I'd highly recommend this place for accommodation when visiting Kunming. P.S. Room 4001 has an exceptional view.

The hotel environment is fantastic, right next to Yulongwan Park. There's a small path leading to the back entrance of the park, and it's lush with greenery, making the air really fresh. The front desk staff (especially the young lady) was super friendly and provided excellent service. The room was spacious, and all the drinks in the minibar were complimentary. It also had a balcony, perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying a cup of tea – super relaxing!

I absolutely, truly, madly love this retro hotel! So comfortable and clean!!!! Five stars all the way!! The old-fashioned architectural texture and vintage soft furnishings exude a quiet elegance without feeling heavy or dated. The blend of retro and modern is just perfect!!! The room details are thoughtfully done, and the comfort level is completely on point. The staff service is also excellent!!! That attentive, considerate touch unique to older, established hotels!!!!! Love Kunming! I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Facilities: The TV picture quality wasn't great, and while it said there was wireless charging by the bed, it didn't work. The wet/dry separation in the shower wasn't good, and the showerhead was difficult to position. The bed was very comfortable, and I really liked the desk and chair. Cleanliness: It was pretty good, but not perfect. For example, I accidentally stained the shower door the day before, and it was still the same the next day. Environment: The environment was great and very quiet. There was a slight issue with soundproofing, but it didn't really affect anything. The bar and gym were excellent! Service: The service was fantastic! The front desk, bar staff, housekeeping, and even the pillow delivery were all thorough and excellent.
