Great place and nice location in the main area of Georgetown, convenient for us to go nearby spot at gurney area, unit cleanliness is great, Host is friendly
The location is good, close to many attractions. There is a stall selling durian and coconuts about 10-15 minutes away, where you can sit down and eat. The whole house is for our use. The owner does not live there, and there was no one there when we arrived. We had to contact the owner to get the password to get the key. This is recommended to be communicated in advance. The house has many beds, a washing machine, kitchen utensils, etc. However, the house is quite old, and the wall paint is peeling in some places. There are no exhaust fans in several bathrooms, which are relatively humid and moldy. Among the rooms on the second floor, the rooms near the front door have poor sound insulation. The cars passing by downstairs and the conversations of passers-by can be heard clearly. The rooms near the back door are relatively quiet.
It was a good experience, except that I left the card in the lock box due to carelessness. Everyone must not forget it hahaha! Self-service check-in, it is quite convenient to contact through WeChat, and the store also responded to my questions about the return trip very enthusiastically.
Hygiene: The sanitary environment is very good. Although the windows are not very big, the ventilation and air are quite good.
Facilities: Complete facilities, tables, chairs, benches, tea bags and tableware are very convenient, and the TV can also cast the screen and even watch ”Empresses in the Palace” for a while. The sound insulation is also very good, and the sleep is good. There are actually two types of air conditioners, which allows me to recover blood after returning home dehydrated every day.
The Magazine Vista Hotel in Penang is more cost-effective. When choosing this hotel, I consulted for a long time, such as booking (more reviews, good or bad), Ctrip (only a simple review). Because it only opened in 2018, the hardware is very new, and the hygiene is good. I especially like to have a washing machine, but I have to find a place to dry the clothes indoors. The location of the apartment is very good. On the left is the GAMA supermarket, and on the right is the landmark of Everbright. Fruits and snacks have their own favorites! Call the front desk before arriving at the hotel, because the front desk is not here, so call in advance and the hotel will send staff to wait at the door. When you call, you need to speak English. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter. India borrowed ”Di Li” (transliteration)-Figure 6 this one. If you call him, you will have no difficulty in communication. He will come to collect a tax of MYR 10 per night, introduce room facilities, and even help you set up a taxi app on your phone. The network is poor and it can't be connected for a few days, so it is important to buy a local phone card. On the second floor facing the street, the noise of motorcycles on the street is loud, which will affect the rest. These problems are not big, this hotel is worth recommending.
I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The location is convenient, close to shops and public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, which made the stay even better. I really appreciated the welcome drinks upon arrival, it was a nice touch. There’s also a water machine available, which made it easy to refill my bottle anytime. Would definitely stay here again!
It’s our first time staying here with 9yo child. We were given Block B room. Felt welcome by all staffs, always greet us with smile. Clear & helpful communication. Love the free coffee & simple snack service at the comfortable lobby. Swimming pool is acceptable at block B, could be better if there is someone to watch over as there were some tourist allow their child to go naked in the pool(not sure they pee inside or not). Love the free clean water dispenser service available near the lift. Although Breakfast could be better (omelette doesn’t taste nice), there are some dirty stains in certain parts of the toilet, overall our stay was comfortable & satisfied. Location wise is also consider convenient to many walking distance places, there’s a tourist map available for free at the reception, very helpful & thoughtful. Definitely will consider staying here again in future.

Very Good
AAnonymous UserHuge swimming pool for adults and kids, great hospitality from the hotel staff. The down side is location of the hotel and away from all tourist spot, you will need transport to reach to this hotel and public transport is not convenient. Overall a pleasant stay.
AAnonymous UserE&O is our favourite hotel in Penang. Being a local Penangite, we frequently ate at Sarkies and even had our wedding in this hotel 10 years ago. We're back in this hotel for our anniversary, however we were a little disappointed with our stay. The bathtub in our corner suite is extremely dirty and stained. We asked the housekeepers to clean it as we wanted to use it. Worse of all, when we filled the tub with water, to our horror, the water was brown in colour!! Not sure if there is proper maintenance done to ensure the water supply is not tainted. The housekeepers also did not refill the complimentary mini bar items despite stating that our suite includes replenishment of the mini bar items on a daily basis. The surface area and tables were not wiped properly as well when they came to clean the room. We hope the management would seriously look into this matter, especially on the water source and overall cleanliness of the suite / bathroom.

GGuest UserThe good:
No deposit upon checking in, check in and out was a breeze, parking provided, the room carpet is clean and centralised aircond cools the room very quickly, the bed and bedding is comfy, cleanliness is tiptop, there's a pool and gym that's nice, and the TV channels were decent
The bad:
Did not validate my car plate and upon driving out, i was charged rm60+ for overnight parking. this was sorted out very quickly but was a hassle, the entrance to room from the parking lot is weird and not disabled friendly.
Overall, i had a good rest at st giles wembley at a decent price. Joined the membership and got a nice cup of coffee at the lobby. I got a room near the lift, so there were noises outside thus the soundproofing is not very good. But felt safe and the clean room feels good. A solid 4 out of 5, could have been better if it came with breakfast minus the hiccup at parking fees.
GGuest UserThe buffet breakfast on the first day was great! The pandan chicken was our favourite. They have egg stations where you can order how you like your eggs, toasts, fruits, cereals n milk, coffee machine, dim sum baos, nasi lemak, noodles. Quite decent for the price of the room Inc bf. Had a nice chat w the guy manning the counter as we were there at like 7am n there were not other guests yet. Sit near the window if you are early and get a nice scenic view while enjoying bf.
Location wise no comments as we go everywhere via grab.
Room was clean, only wished they had bigger rooms for like 2 queen beds for families with young children. We had a king bed but cannot fit all of us. Shower lotion n shampoo not great so I used the ones I brought along for my children. It smelled like Mama lemon dish washing detergent. Aircon was cold n nice.
GGuest UserThe best thing is probably the street food that is just around the corner. View from room was not too bad, theres also a Ban Heang just opposite the hotel if you wanna get food souvenirs.
Room was great with 2 queen sized beds which was the reason why I chose this hotel as we have 2 young kids and most hotels only have 1 king in a room. We slept comfortably n well rested.
JJC IphMy mom was impressed by the excellent service provided by the staff from the porter to the front desk to waiters at Makan Cafe.
Our dinner was delicious. I personally commend a friendly and helpful staff stationed at Makan Cafe , En Syarifuddin, who patiently recommended to my mom and I the types of food in the menu. He went the extra mile to ensure food was served on time.
We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The place was beautiful and the weather was mild.
We hope to visit again soon
RR...AThe hotel is very old located in the center of George Twon closer to seaside. I have booked family room. Space and lay out is ok but 2 issues, 1 the inner parents room has a large empty space by the window (seaview the say but hardly seeing tho) we were puzzled why no pair of sofa chairs with a tea table, what is this space for? Super odd...
2 the connecting door for two rooms doesn't close well, not saying the lock doesn't work, no no, the door can't even able to be fully shut.
Services is almost zero. Don't count on it. All in all besides the location and fact has family room options, I don't have anything else to write home about this hotel. Oh and the sound proof is zero too, not saying between our 2 rooms. I basically had bad sleep whole 4 nights stay cos outside in the hall almost never stopped having doors open/shutting and people loudly talking/walking by noises...
Won't book again.
EElyana MazharIts was my 5th time here but this time with my beloved husband for our prehoneymoon vacay hehe.. Great environment, good amenities and for breakfast buffet variety can upgrade more in future yeah 👌
