2-Star Hotels in Shanxi, China

My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. A truly authentic ancient residential building! The host is incredibly welcoming, providing guests with a tourist map and helping to plan itineraries. They even offer vouchers for renowned restaurants (after a bad experience at a small eatery, I definitely trusted the host's recommendations). Any issues with room service are addressed promptly. Highly recommended!

The owner was super nice, took the initiative to give recommendations on what to eat and where to visit. The room I was staying in had Nintendo-themed decorations, super cute and super clean. I was able to check in early around 8 am.

Overall, it was decent. There's no actual door to the room, just an open common area and private lockers. The room is separated from the hallway by a curtain, so it can get a bit noisy with any sounds from the corridor. The heating in the room was extremely strong, almost suffocating, to the point where I couldn't sleep well and had to go downstairs for some fresh air in the middle of the night. Some of the shower facilities weren't great, and there was nowhere to put my toiletries.

A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place.

The hotel is awesome! Convenient location, worry-free travel. The room was clean and tidy, spacious and bright, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The service is warm and thoughtful, the front desk responds quickly and the details are intimate. High cost performance, complete facilities, quiet and comfortable. It is suitable for business trips or travel, live in peace of mind and comfort, highly recommended, I will choose here next time!

We stayed in a clean modern apartment in a high-rise building. Everything worked as expected. We had a good view towards the south suburban area of the city, but just outside the apartment next to the elevators, we could get a good view on the city center — especially nice at night when the city is lit up. The staff at the reception (located in a restaurant just outside the apartment building) was kind and helpful not only with managing the reservation itself but also helping contact a tourist attraction. We had dinner at the restaurant where the reception is, and can recommend that too, both for great local taste and very cheap prices.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The environment and facilities were excellent and very clean. The owner and front desk staff were very welcoming. It was a particularly pleasant stay. The breakfast was delicious, and the room had great natural light in the morning. It was fantastic!

This stay was a truly delightful surprise! The hotel was spotless, the room was immaculate, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, demonstrating the exceptional housekeeping service. The hotel's location is quiet despite being in a busy area, with lush greenery outside the window and excellent soundproofing, allowing me to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and check-in was efficient and quick. They even thoughtfully explained the hotel's facilities. What touched me most was that when I accidentally left my power bank behind during check-out, a staff member noticed and proactively contacted me, safely keeping it safe. Their honesty and professionalism are truly admirable. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely choose it again next time!
