I was so touched! Right after I got off the high-speed train, the inn owner was already waiting for me by the roadside in his car. Since cars can't enter the ancient city gate, the owner switched to an electric scooter and continued to take me to the inn, free of charge. The proprietress helped me carry my luggage to the second floor, which I felt really bad about, but was deeply moved by! I absolutely love the style of this room. After check-in, the proprietress grabbed a map and meticulously explained tips for exploring Pingyao Ancient City and important details to note, making everything very clear. I love Shanxi; I felt such attentive care here. When it was time to leave, the owner offered to drive me to the high-speed train station again. I felt embarrassed and decided to leave early and take a taxi to the station myself, then informed the owner via WeChat. He immediately asked if I had gotten into the car yet, offering to drive me if I hadn't. Oh, I was so moved! I told him I had really gotten into a car and didn't need him to drive, wishing his business prosperity and continued success! For anyone planning a trip to Pingyao Ancient City, choose this place; it's very reliable, you won't go wrong!

Taking the high-speed train from Taiyuan South, it's a 31-minute direct ride to the ancient city. A smooth bus ride on route 3 takes you to the South Gate, where the majestic 'Four-Province Thoroughfare' city tower immediately transports you back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. I checked into Yunshu Inn, and to my delight, the owner, Mr. Liu, very thoughtfully upgraded me to a Ming and Qing style room in Jinxiu Tangyuan. He also proactively provided a map and explained the attractions, showing great attention to detail. Staying right in the heart of the ancient city, exploring, eating, enjoying the sights and the light show, everything felt convenient and smooth. Every step was pure bliss. Had a lovely stay here! I was in a 12 bed dorm but the room is very spacious and has a private bathroom/shower, all super clean, and then bed was comfy. The only thing is that the bedlight makes a sound every time it’s turned on/off: it’s funny but I was a bit worried to bother other guests. Ah, I was also able to do my laundry with no fees and was even given a little welcome bag. The location although not within the city walls is close to several bus stops and one can ride a bike easy to all the major attractions ~ which was a lovely way to explore Datong. The best thing is the staff though: incredibly helpful and friendly. On my last day they let me stay past the checkout time so that I could keep on working using their WiFi which was a massive massive help, and offered to lend me an umbrella and drive me as the rain was so heavy. Most def recommend staying here when you visit Datong!

Overall, it was decent. There's no actual door to the room, just an open common area and private lockers. The room is separated from the hallway by a curtain, so it can get a bit noisy with any sounds from the corridor. The heating in the room was extremely strong, almost suffocating, to the point where I couldn't sleep well and had to go downstairs for some fresh air in the middle of the night. Some of the shower facilities weren't great, and there was nowhere to put my toiletries.

I’m honestly speechless! The host upgraded me to a suite without me even asking—it was such an incredible gesture. He speaks enough English to help with anything you need and is genuinely one of the kindest people I've met. Both he and his son even ran out to the street to catch me when they saw I was walking in the wrong direction! They truly have hearts of gold. As for the stay, everything was spotless. The bathroom has a seated toilet and the shower has great pressure and hot water. Even though Pingyao was close to zero degrees, I stayed perfectly warm. Also, this is easily the most exotic and beautiful hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The interior design is just stunning!

一進酒店，就能感覺到這裏環境特別好。大堂裝修得很有格調，燈光柔和温馨，讓人瞬間就放鬆下來。走廊乾淨整潔，沒有一絲雜亂，還擺放着一些綠植，增添了不少生機。 我住的房間更是讓我驚喜。空間寬敞明亮，佈置得十分温馨。床鋪軟硬適中，被子和枕頭都超級舒服，睡在上面就像陷進了雲朵裏，每晚我都睡得特別香。房間的採光也很好，白天陽光透過窗户灑在床上，心情都變得格外舒暢。而且房間的衞生做得非常到位，各個角落都一塵不染，完全沒有那種久住的陳舊感。衞生間也很乾凈，洗漱用品質量也不錯，用起來特別安心。 除了環境，老闆的服務更是沒得説。從我們到店的那一刻起，老闆就熱情地迎接我們，幫忙提行李，還詳細地給我們介紹了酒店的設施和周邊的遊玩景點、美食餐廳。在我們入住期間，老闆總是主動詢問我們的需求，有什麼問題都能第一時間幫我們解決。有一天我們遊玩回來比較晚，老闆還貼心地給我們準備了熱湯，讓我們在疲憊的旅途中感受到了家的温暖。 這次在[酒店名稱]的入住體驗真的太棒了，環境好，老闆的服務更是無可挑剔。強烈推薦給來[城市名稱]旅遊的朋友們，相信你們也會和我一樣愛上這家酒店！

We stayed in a clean modern apartment in a high-rise building. Everything worked as expected. We had a good view towards the south suburban area of the city, but just outside the apartment next to the elevators, we could get a good view on the city center — especially nice at night when the city is lit up. The staff at the reception (located in a restaurant just outside the apartment building) was kind and helpful not only with managing the reservation itself but also helping contact a tourist attraction. We had dinner at the restaurant where the reception is, and can recommend that too, both for great local taste and very cheap prices.

Especially clean, good health, good front desk service, intimate preparation of cold water and small drinks, very good, satisfied with a stay

Good budget hotel in a convenient location for food and the ancient town. Room was clean and everything worked. Didn’t use the breakfast or laundry services so can’t speak on them. Just one note that the hotel is down a road with a gate and it is impossible to book taxis through DiDi to come direct to the door so if you have mobility issues keep this in mind.
