I had a mix feeling about this hostel. The location is superb, close to the centraal station although you need to take the ferry to cross the river (don't worry, it's free). Upon arrival, the room is really clean. Bed sheet and cover were provided, thus I needed to make my own bed. Apparently, the room was not cleaned every day. During my 5 days stay, they only cleaned it twice. Also, the soap container in the toilet was broken, so the soap kept falling to the floor, which made an unpleasant mess. Curtains were also broken, so we slept every night with a see-through window. I reported this issue to the receptionist, but nothing was done to fix it. There is no communal kitchen as well, so I could not boil hot water to make my own tea or instant noodles. Everything is charged here. If you want to check in early, you need to pay. If you want to book the lower bunk bed, you also need to pay. I think the positive point of this accommodation is just the location, everything else was meh.
the floors were disgusting. sticky and oily. i saw the cleaning lady only vacuum randomly and didn't mop the floor or anything. the staircase was narrow and really high. it was unsafe since they only had railing on one side and nothing on the other. i was assigned a room in 4th floor, i had a really hard time carrying my suitcase up and down. the toilet was quite clean, or at least it looked clean since the tiles were all black.

I recently stayed at the Ibis Budget Amsterdam Airport and was impressed by its convenience and value. The free hourly shuttle service made getting to and from Schiphol Airport effortless, which was perfect for my early morning flight. The room was compact but clean and functional, offering everything needed for a short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out smooth. While the breakfast was basic, it provided a good start to the day. Overall, a solid choice for travelers needing a budget-friendly option near the airport.
This place is under affordable category while providing privacy and safety to a solo female traveller. If you need to use public transport, you need to do 12 mins walk. Hence walk has to be done on flat terrain , location of the premise is not a big deal. There is also no any window for room as it is capsule. But who cares as we are just looking some place to sleep at night. There is also no microwave or fridge . I think it’s great to have them as shared ammendity.
Convenient location especially if you’re going to the airport. The tram stop towards central station is a few minutes walk as well. However, the room is quite small and they only have one washer and dryer for the entire hotel. The dryer takes a very long time to dry clothes so it’s not really helpful.
overall a good stay, but what you pay is what you get for, basic amenities only. no fridge or water boiler. but lobby had water dispenser. apart from that, if you reach earlier, early check in will be 20euros. and if you want to store your luggage at counter, will be 5 euros per locker. Huge shoutout to the friendly counter staff tho, very friendly and helpful, thankyou.

The staff at reception were nice. They also offer luggage storage service before our check in time.
The location of the hotel is very convenient which locate at the middle of the city centre and made us feel safe even during the late night.
The stairs are steep. Therefore, it may not be suitable for tourists carrying a large scale luggage. Fortunately, we were only having two backpacks and it didn’t bother us at all.
I liked to stay in this room it was good 👍 only thing is the toilet is extremely small , and the hair dryer sucks the sink is in the room not the toilet 👎 staff is friendly! 👍

I recently stayed at Hotel Monafa and found that the main advantage of this hotel is its fantastic location. Situated right in the heart of the city center, it’s incredibly convenient to get around, with many attractions within walking distance. The staff were nice and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or needs.
However, my room was under the stairs, which made it a bit humid and very dark. Unfortunately, I couldn't open the window, and I found the cleanliness of the curtains and bed sheets to be lacking. I ended up using my own bed sheet, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the room did have an air conditioner, and the bathroom appeared to be recently renovated, which was a nice touch.
Overall, while the hotel’s location is excellent and the staff were friendly, I felt the room quality could use some improvement.
Location was amazing. Right next to the train/metro station and only around 20mins to city centre. Only downside is there's no hot water kettle. Need to buy from the dispensing machine at lobby, and there was no microwave to heat up my food if needed. So if you are someone who snacks at night (supper etc.), need to figure your way out. Can't even make a packet soup or coffee/tea as there's no hot water :(

GGuest UserLocation: it's a great location because it's only a less than 10 minute walk from the Amsterdam Central station. It's so convenient. But the hostel entrance/reception is located inside a pub/restaurant. Personally I have no problem with this. I just find this interesting. There was also a security-looking guy standing at the entrance at night every day too, so it was pretty safe.
Cleanliness: it was very clean. Every day someone took out the trash and cleaned the bathroom for us, which I didn't expect. They gave us a new, clean towel every day too. I really like these things about the hostel.
Service: It depends on who you meet. The ladies that I talked to were all friendly and helpful. But there was a guy that was rather unhelpful and rude. I asked, ”Do you have data sim cards?” He said, ”No, we don't provide for that.” (Of course I knew the hostel didn't provide sim cards for free; I was asking if the hostel *sells* sim cards.) I asked, ”Do you know where I can get one? I can't get on the internet with the hostel wifi.” He said, ”There's no problem with the hostel wifi, otherwise a lot of people would be complaining about it.” (I wasn't complaining about the hostel wifi wasn't working; I was asking if he knew where I could get a sim card since I couldn't get on the internet to look for them.)
Facilities: I like that there was a curtain on each bed. The bed and the room were also spacious enough. The windows were almost soundproof, isolating all the noises from the people drinking downstairs. The bathroom was also very clean. The only thing I didn't like was that there were brown stains on the blanket, which looked disgusting. There was also space for luggages (it's on the 2nd floor) if you don't want to store them in your room. There was, however, no kitchen or common areas. But the room was big enough and had a table. It was ok for me.
One thing I really didn't like were the people who stayed in my room. All of them were obnoxious: wouldn't clean up after using the bathroom (hair everywhere), leaving their stuff in the bathroom/on the table so others couldn't use the space/table, kept coughing all night (meaning they were sick) and wouldn't open the windows for ventilation. I hardly had a good night's sleep because they kept coughing at night. But this wasn't the hostel's fault. It's those people's problems.
All in all, I recommend staying at this hotel.

LloreleikvltWe had been really concerned after pre paying this hotel then reading bad reviews that had us convinced we would need to wear plastic suits the entire visit,, so I thought I'd give my review based around the concerns we had read, to try and be helpful ! some of the things were true , the sheets did come off the bed on mine but I wiggle but my friends both stayed on their beds. super annoying but I just slid it back on and you can always throw your cover over it instead and ask for another . Fortunately we didn't come across the bed bugs people mentioned !, the cat seemed happy and not flea ridden.. however the room was clean enough , no obvious mould. The beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was clean and quite nice
It wasn't huge but had ample.space for our things in the triple person room .
It's an old building with narrow windy stairs I'm glad the elevator worked. it's not a relax and sit in all day hotel..it's a place to sleep , shower ...charge your phone and keep your belongings.
The coffee machine was fine as far as basic goes.
The staff were fine
There was a fifty euro deposit on the desk, we just asked for a receipt after other things mentioned in reviews and were given a written one with no problem on leaving . We were offered one free housekeeping day as we stayed 4 nights but opted not to use it due to theft mentioned in reviews..
We stayed at the main hotel so I don't know if all the bad reviews were from the other or we just got lucky with our room but we had no problems, and when I went rustling down before hours looking for coffee the guy did help me before reception opened.
It's no paradise of a place , there are marks on the walls but faint...if you're fussy it's not the place for you but for the price and location, we really didn't mind it . It's a super great location as a base with a trendy area behind it
And a really cool vegan restaurant a tiny walk away a pub downstairs and metro train a stone's throw away
If you have the option to pay on arrival ask to see.your room first.you could take that route
Just to be safe, but all up it was fine..3 women travelling together there was no unsafe feeling there .
We didn't find it noisy.

GGeorgeSGrahamReally Great location - Literally couldn’t get any closer to the city centre - The room was small but that is simply the style in Amsterdam it seems, it had AC 2 comfy single beds and a nice toilet and shower - The staff were all lovely although you did have to hand in your key whenever you left which was a bit odd but wasn’t an issue - All you need really for an excellent trip and at a great price! (tv was a bit naff that’s my only qualm)
GGuest UserThe service was very good, nice personnel at the front desk, the room was cleaned every day and so on.
Very good location near the city center and therefore I can kinda understand the price of the room etc
My room was on the 3rd floor, the elevator only goes to the 2nd floor, not really a big deal but a bit weird.
Don't get me wrong, the room itself felt clean and fresh, nothing to complain about there besides that the shower pressure was insanly low, sometimes the water just stopped running at all during a shower...
But the big issue is the size of the room itself and what you get for over a €100 a night, I booked a single room for one person, and the room feels like it's built around the frame of the bed, the room is incredible small, smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in and the most expensive one as well.
The bathroom is so small that the toilet is placed just behind the sink so you barely have room to actually sit on the toilet, and the glass door to the shower can only be opened on one side... the side where the sink is so you have about 30cm of room to get out of the shower because the sink is in the way...
Like I said, the room felt clean and fresh, but it is ridiculously small.
Overall a good stay, the room was good enough for sleeping in but for the size of the room and what you pay for it doesn't really add up, over a €100 a night for a room barely bigger than the bed itself is kinda weird.
