2-Star Hotels in Northern Mindanao, Philippines

I booked three rooms to stay in at CDO Grace Residence Hall for my family, I can say that, it was a great and comfortable experience here in Cagayan De oro City.

This is actually my third time staying at New Dawn Pensionne House in Cagayan de Oro, mainly because of its convenient location and affordable rates. The hotel is well-located near malls, restaurants, and other establishments. If you need personal items, Watsons is also nearby, which is very convenient. However, during my stay I noticed that the Wi-Fi inside the room was very slow. I also tried switching to mobile data, but the signal inside the room was still weak. I even had to step outside the room just to get a stronger signal. Considering that Cagayan de Oro already has 5G network coverage, it was surprising that the signal could barely reach inside the room. Another thing to note is that the room does not provide free toiletries like shampoo, toothbrush, or toothpaste, so you need to buy them outside if you forget to bring your own. There was also confusion about the check-out time. The booking app indicated that check-out was 2:00 PM, but the hotel informed us that the check-out time is 12:00 PM. The staff even knocked on the door and called the room before the 2:00 PM check-out time stated in the app, which was a bit inconvenient. ✅ Pros - Convenient location near malls and stores - Affordable place to stay - Nearby convenience stores and Watsons ⚠️ Cons - Very slow Wi-Fi inside the room - Weak mobile signal inside the room -No free toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste) - Confusion with check-out time ⭐ Overall: Since this is already my third stay, the hotel is still a practical choice because of its location and price. However, improvements in Wi-Fi, signal reception, and clearer check-out policies would greatly improve the guest experience.

I recently stayed at Sogo CDO, and I am truly satisfied with the overall experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, and the check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and comfortably furnished, making it easy to settle in and relax after a long day of travel. I also appreciated the hotel’s amenities, which were thoughtfully provided and added to the comfort of my stay. Every interaction with the staff reflected genuine hospitality, and they were always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, the hotel delivered on all my expectations. I left with a sense of satisfaction and gratitude for such an enjoyable stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and accommodating experience.

The hotel and the staff were wonderful. The staff saw to your ever need, they constantly greeted you with a smile and a kins word. The breakfast service was the most disappointing aspect of the hotel. The meal choices were so odd. We stayed for two 3 day stints (a total of six days), the breakfast was some sort of soup, either a sunny side up egg or a hard boiled egg; steamed rice; then what seemed like leftovers from dinner the night before - one morning it was chop suey (vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower; and carrots); another morning it was sardines, fish on cabbage; the only item that i would consider a breakfast food was their beef chorizo (but the beef chorizo was not tasty or seemingly fully cooked). I was surprised that there were no Filipino breakfast staples - tocino, longanisa, or even spam. I would say the breakfast menu needs to be reviewed.

Very clean, modernised rooms, bed very comfortable, aircon old style hole in the wall mounted but okay, and key card which also turns on the power. Unfortunately, fridge and aircon go off too when you go out. After the bad rap breakfast has been getting, we made sure we went early (soon after opening at 6.00am), and it was more than satisfactory. Two staff were trying very hard to make sure we were happy... probably as a consequence of the bad reviews. Front desk very efficient, very handy commercial laundromat on ground floor where you can wash and dry two suitcases full of clothes for 260 pesos. A couple of minor issues we had were dealt with straight away. Very central location with a 5 minute walk to several shopping malls. CONS: Trip.com does not warn you that you will have to pay 2000 peso refundable deposit when you arrive.

Очень понравилось это место! Персонал невероятно дружелюбный и всегда готов помочь в любой ситуации — отдельное спасибо за отзывчивость и тёплое отношение. Завтраки были очень вкусные, а еда в столовой — недорогая и качественная, поэтому почти всегда питались именно там. Также удобно, что всё находится рядом. Из минусов — на всей территории отеля не работал Wi-Fi, поэтому приходилось пользоваться своими сим-картами. В остальном отдых оставил только приятные впечатления)) спасибо

Very clean hotel. Nice place to stay and can recommend to other traveller

The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, which made for a comfortable environment. Our first room had issues with the AC, but the staff promptly addressed the problem by moving us to another room, which we appreciated. The location, however, is not very convenient as it is a bit far from the city center. Dining options nearby are limited, with no decent restaurants within walking distance. On the positive side, motorbike and car rentals are available, and the companies will deliver the vehicles directly to the hotel. The staff also assist in contacting these rental providers.

I travelled with my husband and our toddler. The room is spacious enough for a family of 3. The hotel staff was kind enough to allow early check-in since we arrived at Ozamis City earlier than expected and are just expecting to stay for the night to catch an early flight the following day. I could say this hotel is good for budget travelers and perfect if you want to stroll around the city, there are also many food choices in the surrounding blocks. The room's cleanliness is not superb, though we already managed our expectations since it is a budget hotel. It's just 10mins away from Ozamis airport by the way. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. 🥰
